You might want to look deeper into what the word, and the creature stands for. don't trust just one site, or even a quick google search. Allow your research to fall on multiple sources so you can confirm the truth, and the false rumors. Not to mention you gain a greater understanding of what you are talking and looking into about. It avoids making you look like an idiot, which is what I'm about to do.

Now, a Halcyon is indeed a bird. But, it is a bird that is surrounded and inspires peace, tranquility, and good feelings. The wolf said "Embrace the beast within your soul, and then you will know Halcyon".
That didn't nessicarly hint that Brave will turn into a bird that gives peace. But that is the wording used, so a different thing, besides the metamorphis that Brave is undergoing, is happening. There appears to be a conflict of words and imagrey. So something else must be going on. Would the Wolf help Brave find the peace in his life that he is looking for? Why would the Wolf do that, or even help Brave?
The useage of word choice is most interesting here, and I do not think it would be wise to underesteemate it, but to keep the mind open to all possibilities. Isuspect that it involves something to do with its Greek Legend.
