Gonna be an awesome game, I can already tell.

I bought the Collector's Edition. Should come tomorrow, hopefully. Checked up on it though, and it might be backordered or some such.

Anyone else expecting it?

Hah!

Not so pleased with the combat system... when I dodge, I actually want to be able to dodge... not still get hit by a sword that isn't even near me
It makes the game difficult when you're surrounded by 5 dudes swinging large swords at you that knock you back.

P.s. Easter egg:
during the assault, you have to commandeer a ballista (second time). Walk to the gate behind it and turn right... Look at the right wrist. Although the haystack should be enough

Also gets you the ability Assassin +25% more damage from behind

I've just started on the first game. I wonder where the hype for this game comes from, because the first didn't have this much.

Fairly sure the hype came from fans of the first game. Also, maybe a bit more advertising this time, since it's not a new IP from a group that up until then mostly just did localization and publishing and whatnot.

Because the first Witcher was one of those gems that was overlooked, like Beyond Good & Evil. It had a fantastic story, within a very vibrant gritty world

Yeah, the first Witcher was widely regarded for the amazing choice setup it used where every action directly effected future choices. Moreso than any Bioware game has to date. Not only that, but the story was pretty great as well. It'll be a bit before I can grab the second game (as I still havent beat the first one either), but I'll definitely get it.

Aaaaaaaaargh the combat system is gruelingly bad! Where the fuck did all those stances go? Those were awesome!
I hate the fact that if two enemies are standing in front of you, and the combat system somehow thinks you're aiming at the third guy behind them, you cant actually hit the guys in front of you... No matter how many times your sword hits them in an animation.

Please, for the love of all that is good and mighty let there be a way to fight multiple enemies at once, because this is bullshitting difficult

Pretty great so far. I've got to agree though, taking on more than a few enemies, especially tough ones, is rather difficult. Mostly been rolling around and slowly working on them.

Guys, you're focusing on the fights improperly. You're supposed to abuse your Signs in the cases with multiple opponents. Root some guys to deal with the others first, then get back to the remaining after. You just need to stop relying on one method of fighting.

But you only have 2 casts (non upgraded), and the recharge of one slot takes too long

Personally I tend to abuse the shit out of the Qun sign. The only useful one if you ask me

I may eventually get it, but there's no rush here. This youtube channel I follow just posted part 1 of the walkthrough up. The graphics look really good.

I'm kinda glad they changed that... it was ridiculous how much sex there was in that game and how easy it was to get laid

"Walk me home"

"Okay"

"Want to have sex with me?"

"Okay"

I can understand the desire to hump the first and best infertile man that comes along in a condomless world. The infertility does seem to have been made up purely for the purpose of justifying that, though.

Thought it was more for all the downsides. Mainly, lack of family, and having to keep recruiting new guys to be Witchers. But eh, could be for the sex. Not sure how often it came up in the books.

Almost got through a full playthough, starting Act 3 now. It's been pretty damn awesome.
Also, I've found that with just 4 points, you can upgrade Quen well, and it's pretty great.

For anyone who's not got it, I would suggest the first. Shouldn't cost much, it really fills in the story, and you can import your save. Very excellent RPG.
I like how who you side with in Act 1 changes Act 2 almost completely, from what I've seen. Also, with Iorveth, you get a LotR reference. Hah. Speaking of, I quite like this elf, once you get to know him. But Roche is cool too.

Dammit I'm in chapter 3 now, and    Dandelion    is missing from    New Narakort Inn.    Does he only    appear at the beginning of the chapter    or is it that my game glitched? I found    his lute    without getting the quest and it can't be finished because he doesn't show up. Also, I want that card.

I think it started in the books though.
Dammit one more language to learn.
I refuse to read a translated book.

They've only got The Last Wish, a collection of short stories, and the first book in the series translated to English so far. I should try they sometime.

The ending was kinda lackluster... but at least there'll be either a Witcher 3 or expansions. I personally hope for expansions (NOT DLC!), because those take less time to develop.

I dunno, they said that the DLCs will be free so I'm hoping for that.
