hate to doublepost, but I'd like to point out that ben 10 rarely thinks things through, and almost never goes upgrade (I had to sit through alot of the episodes with my neise, it sucked ), and instead prefers to rip apart machines with bare hands, or rolls up in a ball and bashes them. Either way, the Omnitrix tends to be almost totally random between the 10 different strains of species.

I hate to burst everyone's hope bubbles, but Ben 10 will not be in PPGD. BR informed us of this because Bleedman is confused by the show, so to avoid difficulties, Ben will not be in it.

And i don't know what that dude was thinking: the omnitrix was a complete waste on Ben. he does not think through his strategy much. his least used are Upgrade and Ghost Freak(with good reason).
