A Touch of Evil

Introduction

Shadows are more dangerous than they seem. It offers an incredible surge of power, yet drives the user mad and his or her body begins to rot. They are sustained only by the flesh and souls of the innocent, more often than not, children.

In times past the wielders of this arcane power wreaked havoc upon the world, but are now hunted down and slaughtered by the men and women who hold the power to stop these rogue mages. They now operate in secrecy, in hopes that one day they can overwhelm and begin their reign of terror once again.

Player Information

Despite what the introduction more than likely lead to believe, you are not going to be playing a character who wields the power of shadow. Instead you and the other players will be playing a group of the other four schools of magic, and probably science. Instead you will be investigating and hunting those who use this forbidden magic and keep them from gaining a large enough foothold in the city. Keep this in mind, this is not meant to be an all combat game, socializing with the other players, NPCs, and inspecting your environment will be more important than cleaving the closest cultist in half.

Setting

Most of the world’s populace resides in a sprawling metropolis with a level of technology much like today. The city is made up of ten districts each including one hundred blocks. The city’s subway runs through each block and is an easy way to get to where you need to go. The districts are as follows: The Necropolis, The Slums, The Park, Military, Suburbs, Theatre, Government, Docks, and Temple. Keep in mind that each district has its own police headquarters.

The Necropolis is home to the Necromancers and Demonologists as they both study their particular school.

The Slums is just as it sounds, a slum.

The Park is home to the Druids, completely untouched by technology. The Park is mostly comprised of a forest with the Druid Grove in the center.

Research, Military training, and most, if not all, conferences involving multiple schools are held in the Military district.

The Suburbs is also exactly what it sounds, a very large suburb.

All things entertainment can be found in the Theatre district. From arcades to amusement parks, toy stores to broadway playhouses.

The Government district is where all the federal business goes through, city wide police, and all of the rich people live.

The Docks. What do you think it is? It’s a big dock.

The temple district is where the Priests of the Vengeful Father practice and train. Although there are many more churches and temples to many different gods, these particular priests are the only ones who actively take part in hunting down shadow mages.

Character Information.

Players are able to play five types of characters: Necromancers, Priests, Druids, Demonologists, and Operatives.

Despite their titles Necromancers and Demonologists ARE NOT EVIL. Their magic stems from death and demons yes but they use it to BIND, CONTROL, OR BANISH. Wanton raising of undead or demons, or any magic for that matter, for the purpose of killing or endangering innocents will result in being classified as a rogue mage and you will be hunted and executed without question. I will only give one warning.

Each school of magic originally had four different sub classes, but that has been modified to two to suit the RP. You may only choose one to excel in but you know the basics, and only the basics, of the other.

Necromancy – Summoning and Metamorphisis.

Metamorphisis is the process of altering one’s own body to suit the situation. As long as the Necromancer has the ability to sustain the change it will not backlash. If I or the co-GM, if I have one, feels that you character is unable to handle such a change yet a backlash will occur, and I warn you it’s not fun, at least for you it isn’t. If a neophyte Metamorph attempted to grow another limb or wings they would find themselves in excruciating pain and paralyzed.

Summoning is animating a dead corpse with a soul from the underworld. The type of creature summoned depends on the soul pulled from the depths and not the corpse used. Any corpse is viable for an undead minion but if it is a body of a non-human creature is used you may have interesting side-effects. To animate you obviously require the corpse, or if it is an otherworldly being the item associated with said summoning. Such as bone dust to animate a skeleton.

Advanced Necromancy:

Avatar: The necromancer takes power from the aspect of death and empowers all of his magic and abilities. Metamorphosis necromancers will find that their shifts can encompass their entire body, summoners can empower the undead that they raise, while soul stealers can keep their avatar state continuous. After empowering yourself the necromancer gains a temporary boost in speed and strength in addition to the other benefits.

Soul Stealer: The act of stealing a person's soul not only kills them and rejuvenates the one who is enjoying some fine dining; it allows the temporary use of the departed's abilities. However powerful magic acquired from soul stealing will remain with the necromancer until use.

Druids – Elemental and Animal Mastery

Now when I say Elemental magic I mean the whole shebang. Not one element, all of them, fire, Wind, Water, Earth and Lightning. You can weave all of the elements into a single spell or use them individually. However an elementalist must be very careful as to what element they use in certain conditions, for not using common sense will land you in a hot seat.

Despite the fact that the Druid commands a creature much like a Necromancer’s Summoning it is vastly different. For example it takes time for the animal in particular to make it to your location, if it isn’t there already, and will not carry out mindless commands for the Druid’s pleasure. The animal is its own living being and since all the animals used in this particular specialization are feral, their well being comes first

Advanced Druidic

Nature's Command: Being surrounded by nature constantly sometimes allows a druid to learn how to control it. Controling blazing fires, water, earth, plants, and even the air around them a druid with this mastery over nature can create elementals, rend the earth beneath them, turn a candle flame into a blazing inferno and many more.

Shapeshifting: Many people call this lycanthropy. In a case that is true, however the druid can turn into any animal they wish. From a raven to a wolf, walrus to a praerie dog, and from full animal to werecreature. Shapeshifters can be very dangerous depending on their enviornment, or they can be at a disadvantage.

Priests – Magic Detection and Healing (Due to the Priest’s lack of offensive magic they are also trained in martial arts, melee combat, and firearms)

Magic Detection is as it sounds. The Priest concentrates and separates the ether of magic from the ether of life. They are able to follow the trail left by the ether and are able to sense what kind of magic is being used instantaneously. I will warn any priest who uses this specialization now. You can only tell what type of magic it is, not how powerful or any other tidbit of information, if you are unsure whether or not some information will be given PM ME FIRST.

Healing is just as it sounds. But the healing specialization comes with more than just healing. It allows the Priest to bestow certain blessings on his or her fellow players to increase their physical or mental capabilities. Healing major wounds requires more concentration than healing minor wounds.
A few blessings are as follows: Blessing of Strength. Blessing of True Sight (allows to see in the dark). Aegis of the Father (Increases Defense against Magical and Physical attacks).

Advanced Holy:

Boon: Boons granted by gods tend to be powerful blessings. A priest can bless a single person with the boon of their god: to never miss, unnatural luck, or even protection from death. Does not last very long and will greatly exhaust the priest the longer it is sustained. But if used correctly the priest won't need to sustain it.

Wrath of the Father: Gods aren't normally known for their infinite patience. Particularly the Father. Invoking his might directly into a priest allows the caster to wreathe holy fire and energy as if it were offensive magic. Shields holy energy, columns of flame bursting from the sky, and exorcisms are all examples of uses of Wrath magic. Although if a priest were to use this power for injustice the Father would be far from pleased.

Demonology – Possession and Plague

Possessing one’s self is a very dangerous business. The demonologist binds a portion of a demon’s power to his or her own soul and saps the energy of the demon for a limited time. The demon’s strength determines the time limit. If a demonologist attaches himself or herself to a demon for to long they run the risk of losing control to the monster and requiring a team of priests or demonologists to remove the creature from their soul. The abilities granted to the Demonologist can be very helpful in almost any situation. Possessing another player however may yield different and interesting effects, but requires the other player’s consent.

Plague magic is an interesting thing Demonologists have. They use their own blood to create a potent plague, the effect is their desire. The disease stays with the creature until it dies, but before the creature contracts the plague it must be first introduced to their bloodstream. Unfortunately demonologists have found that it can only be transferred using melee weapons that they are holding. Bullets, arrows, bolts, and other projectile weapons will not transfer the disease as the demonologist is not touching it.

Advanced Demonic

Ritual: A powerful demon can be bound to service with the right ingredient. The blood of a summoner is required to summon and bind the demon to their service as well as muttering the true name of the demon they wish to summon. These can be found in the Necropolis' Demonology library, from devils and demons foolish enough to give up their true name.

Sorcery: Pulling a demon into your soul to obtain their power isn't the only way to sap energy from the hells. If a demonologist is adept at what she does she can directly tap into the energy from the hells and gain the abilities of a demon. Which circle they choose determines what kind of abilities they acquire and how powerful they are. Preforming this while possessed is known to strengthen the demonologist's hold on the demon's spirit in addition to giving them further power.

Operatives – Gadgets and Superhuman

With the recent boom in scientific research many of the local operatives have been outfitted with the latest gear and gadgetry that the Military quarter has churned out. They have also been given the training to create their own tools on the field with the risk of backfiring of course. The gear given includes an Ether Censor, not as powerful as a Priest, a high powered gun of the Operative’s choice, and a field tool kit to modify or create gadgets. Unfortunately the kit only comes with enough spare parts to create or modify once before having to return to a local police headquarters to replace the parts. If however the Operative removes the parts used and returns the gadget to its original form then they may use it again. Gadget Operatives may only have five gadgets at a time. Gadget Operatives have no superhuman abilities.

In addition to the recent boom in scientific breakthroughs, the researchers of the military quarter have begun to create Superhuman Operatives. These men and women looks like your average ordinary citizen but have enhanced strength and agility over the normal human being. Some scientists even go on to boast that their super human creations are stronger than Necromancer Metamorphs and Possessed Demonologists, but that test has not been administered yet. Superhumans can only have one gadget, but no toolkit.

Advanced Science

Cybernetics: Enhancing a person's body with mechanics is common practice in the military. Modifying an arm with a rocket salvo, or an eye with an advanced targeting system to increase an operative's power is the new form of advanced cybernetics. Not many agents are fitted with this at the moment as it is still in test phase. It is easier for an agent to be modified if they have a mechanical limb, but organics have been successfully modified in the past.

Robotics: Field stripping mechanics is easy enough for any agent. Reassembling them is a tad more difficult. But stripping and reassembling into a working robot is something that most agents fail at even after years of practice. Being able to create a robot in the middle of combat, however small, can easily turn the tide of a fight. In addition this allows agents to fill compartments of their suits with small fliers that could be used as scouts or suppressing fire.

Upcoming Boss CS:

Name: R.E.U - Recon and Extermination Unit.

Gender: Male

Character Type: Operative

Specialization: Gadgets.

Appearance: R.E.U wear's standard body armor along with form fitting black pant's.
His shoe's are nothing fancy, combat boot's designed for mobility and to be extremely light.
His hand's have fingerless glove's with a small piece of plate on the back on the hand that are strong enough to stop a point blank bullet.
A hood with a face concealing mask resembling demon with 2 short horns above the eyebrows, with cold blue eyes, steadies his breathing and help's blend in with darker area's.
The demon-eyes change color to avoid alerting enemies from a distance.

He is a rather light complexion which you would think prevent's him from being stealthy, but his training has made him efficient at such thing's. His item's and gadget's are kept in small pouches on the front of his jacket with his rifle slung tightly on his back.

Weaponry: (see gadgets)

Personality: Cold and unfeeling, a true master of his emotions. R.E.U was a man who underwent experimental bionic implants and thus became similar to a robot in terms of facial expressions. While still very much human, he tends to simply refer to himself as the project name given. His real name given to those he actually trusts: Few know it.
Trained in many different ways of combat, R.E.U has become the epitome of recon missions and silent murder, long always a step ahead or a cut above whomever he fights. Flexible in tight spots and a steady head thanks to his upgrades.

Background: There was Formely a man of great respect in an agency that sought peace, it's top member was a foot soldier with great skill in firearms and traps. His name is classified now due to the betrayal performed close to a year ago, some say it was the stress that drove him over the edge.
A year and some months ago the soldier underwent highly dangerous Bionic upgrades to his entire body, head to toe: He became fast, precise, strong and clever in what seemed like a few days.
Finally something snapped, they say a high ranking officer executed a close ally to the one now called R.E.U causing it to overheat and thus malfunction. The result was close to 150 soldiers and operatives killed and many more injured before simply vanishing.

They know it will return but as friend or foe the higherups cannot say.

Additional Training: Stealth and Recon.

Gadgets:

1. His arms, legs and face have been reconstructed with an advanced bionic programming that gives incredible speed, power and thinking ability. His legs have the ability to control how heavy his footfalls become thus making it undetectable to even the most impressive hearing dogs and machines on the planet.

2. His chest has Bionic parts composing of his heart, lungs and other such intestines to simulate a working human being, but they produce small nanodroids to repair his body tissue and broken mechanical parts within his body. The ribcage is protected by an incredibly strong and flexible alloy preventing sudden chest injuries from the front or back.


3. He uses a 12shot rifle, semi-automatic shooting capability that only work's with specific armor piercing rounds, common for a military man.

4. Fighting against a magic user leave's him vulnerable to their defenses, he is confident in his ability to dodge or take a magical attack, but the shield's or enchantments his enemies may have concerned him. He is now armed with a special ammunition for his 12shot rifle, Depleted elementium shell's that still carry their potent null-magic ability, rendering a magical shield useless or less effective depending on the mage's power.

5. His bullet's and knives are coated with a special slow-acting poison, it will spread throughout the blood system while waiting for a large charge of magic either inside or around the body, at this point it will emit a nutralizing sedative rendering the effected limb's inactive for upwards of an hour.

Name: Reaver Valen

Gender: Male

Character Type: Shadow Necromancer

Specialization: Metamorphosis / Gate

Appearance: Tall and permanently mutated. Reaver was a bit thick headed when he went through his training and suffered a large number of backlashes. Because of this Reaver’s arms extend down to his ankles, and with each step he takes his knuckles rub against the stone floor. His knees are constantly bent to support his mutated torso. His chest looks as if it has been turned inside out, keeping all of his organs on the inside and his bones and ribcage on the outside. The skin all over Reaver’s body looks to be transparent, making all the tissue , muscle, and bones visible. He is nothing less than a walking monstrosity.

To get out during the daylight hours, and in general all around Reaver covers the entirety of his body in heavy robes. His lidless eyes are the only part of his body that is actually visible. Whether or not they’re closed is a risk most people have to take.

Weaponry: What better to rend and tear with than your own hands?

Additional Training: Martial Arts – Reaver is a master of mixed martial arts and he most definitely applies this in combat situations with his metamorphosis and gate abilities.

Okay, question again: How would a demonologist work? do they take on a different physical appearance, or would they just gain more strength/speed/whatever in a human form?

Their physical attributes would be increased on possession but may suffer a slight appearance change depending on what kind of demon you're controlling.

Character Type: Priest of the Vengeful Father

Specialization: Magic Detection

Appearance: Illiam stands at a rather 'average' height of five feet six inches. Although his craving for magic affects his mental state, it has only affected his physical appearance by his habit of looking rather unkempt in long droughts of magic. Usually Illiam's hair is a rather short, brown mess (although in times of strain his hair is known to be unusually neat). His eyes are green, although with the amount of darting around his eyes do this may not by fully accurate. Illiam's clothing consists of a long robe that goes to his feet, while he wears jeans and a wife-beater under those. He often wears an old pair of shoes that have seen better days (they smell like cheese). Illiam constantly keeps one gun up his sleeve, one holstered, and the rifle on his back. Illiam is known to keep himself clean shaven (as beards are evil).

Weaponry: Dual handguns, and a burst fire rifle

Personality: Illiam is a very paranoid man. He often uses his ability to 'see' magic constantly, and shivers like a chihuahua. Although he is afraid of his own shadow (And it's constant assassination attempts) he is very loyal and is constantly trying to make friends (which is more of a 'won't try to kill me agreement'). Illiam enjoys long walks on which he can see anyone following him, and fire at them. Illiam doesn't think of himself as a real 'people person', probably because of his paranoia. Illiam doesn't get along with others, unless he has decided they're a friend or ally.

Background: Illiam was raised with the Priests of the Vengeful Father from a young age. And he was subjected to a set of tests to find the strength of his abilities. Most of these consisted of placing him in a maze with someone casting spells in the center, and after every 5 minutes spent searching the maze changed. Illiam quickly learned to skew the rules just enough to get through the maze in only a few minutes. Illiam finally mastered his skills to such an extent he could outrace most people with more training than him in giving information about spells being cast.

Around the age of 13 Illiam found a disturbing side effect to his lifestyle. He was addicted to the 'sound' of magic and acts like an addict going through withdrawal when he can't hear or sense magic. This caused him to become very irritable and he often becomes even more paranoid when suffering from this condition. He often gets around this by being around people who 'radiate' magic, or who use it without much hesitance.

Illiam continued his training day in and day out until his nineteenth birthday at which he was finally viewed as a 'true' priest of the Vengeful father and was allowed to wear a robe and refer to himself as a priest and not an apprentice. He took this chance to bask in the glow of more powerful mages, allowing his 'addiction' to worsen, bit by bit.

Additional Training: Firearm training, basic martial arts, 'OH GOD WHAT WAS THAT?! RUNNN AWAYYYYY!' training.

Appearance: Freyr stands at a near-laughable four feet tall. Freyr tries to offset this by having his hair stand nearly two inches off of his head, making him seem slightly taller. His hair is a vibrant brown that seems to shine when light is upon it. His eyes are deep and curious, and he is constantly examining things. His skin is pale, especially for the amount of time he spends outside. He often carries a walking stick around with him that he threatens people with. Freyr often wears a very long shirt that goes down to his knees with shorts underneath to give himself 'freedom of movement', although this often gets him stared at.

Weaponry: Animals, 'superior intellect', hand to hand, staff-based combat

Name: Leonardo "Leo" de Huet (it sounds like suit)

Gender: Male

Character Type: Demonologist

Specialization: Possession

Appearance: 26 years old. 5'8". Caucasian. Leo has a pretty non-special face. You could easily mistake him for every other guy out there. The only thing that really sets him apart from everybody else is his snow white hair. He keeps it fairly short but long enough to cover his ears.
Clothing wise he wears cloths that could stem out of the renaissance age. A light brown coat with many decorative marking along the collar, it closes by three large buttons that are located halfway down the coat. Underneath he wears a white poet's shirt. Wears long loose fitting pants, with knee high brown boots over them. The boots are also decorated with symbols and the like.

With his cloths on Leo almost looks like nobility. Underneath his cloths however he has a heavily scarred body from all the transformation he had gone through, a lot of them are rather violent. And of course the trademark runes that are carved into his body, cleverly covered up by tattoos afterwards. For him his tattoos are running along his right arm.

Weaponry: Rapier and an assortment of random demonic powers.

Personality: A liar, an actor. Not a single emotion he portrays is genuine. He's emotionless, or soulless as he calls it. Sometimes he thinks this is the reason demons have such a hard time trying to take him over, there's nothing for them to manipulate.
He is in no way evil or 'bad'. But he is a master manipulator. No one has ever been able to figure him out.

Background: Son of two technicians, he was obviously named after the great Leonardo Da Vinci. He was a strange baby though, even at his birth he remained calm, to the point where the doctor thought he was dead. They first thought it was just a small phase for the baby, but he kept quiet even weeks after that. Never smiling or laughing, but neither did he cry. His parent were afraid that perhaps there was something wrong with him, but the doctors couldn't find any abnormalities. They told them to just wait it out.

Years went by, but Leo didnt change. But he was in no sense retarded or anything, he was just very quiet and introvert to the extreme. He never really talked about anything, and really only spoke whenever spoken to.
When he got to the age where he was send off to school, his parents were hoping that the interaction with the other kids would pull him out of his shell. No such luck though, he kept his normal quiet self and stayed away from the others. His teachers tried everything they could think of to get Leo to socialize with the other kids, but to no avail.
Still, Leo was just a kid and needed someone to talk to, someone who would understand him. That was when he got himself a imaginary friend. Or so he thought at the time. Her name was Persephone, and was of the same age as him. He'd talk hours on end with her, about everything. She was a good listener. And he'd listen to her about her stories of far away lands, and fantasize about going there once. These were the only times he would actually show any kind of joy. His parents were of course confused about the situation, on the one hand their son was finally opening up a little, but on the other hand he was opening up to something that wasnt there.
In hindsight he really should've known better. You see, she didnt exactly look human. Or well, her upper half did, but her lower half was covered in blackened scales and her feet had claws, instead of nails. This also included her hands and most of her upper arm. When he was a kid this somehow didnt bother him that much, nor the fact that she was always naked. He obviously never told anybody of this, not that anybody asked.

More years went by, and Leo finally hit the age where he was considered to be too old to have an imaginary friend. He also started to notice that too many people were following him around, to make sure he was doing alright. He liked his privacy, so he had no choice but to change.
So the first thing he had to do, was getting rid of Persephone. She had figured out what was happening pretty quickly, and at first tried to peacefully make Leo change his mind. But he ignored her, it was the only way he could think of on getting rid of her. And apparently it worked, because Persephone became more and more angry at him, but at the same time weaker. he would see her less and less, until she was gone one day. His first step to changing himself.
The second step was learning to mingle with the other kids. But this seemed to be harder than he had thought, he just didnt feel anything. The concept of a soul was also explained at that time, and he thought it was that that was what he was missing. He had no soul. Still, there had to be some way to make people stop watching him?
The solution came when he went to the theater with the whole class. It was some old black and white drama movie, that nobody was really interested in. But for Leo, who had never been to the theater, it opened a whole new world. These actors did exactly what he needed! From that moment on he started to learn how to fake certain emotions, how to laugh at the precise moment, what to say at the precise moment, everything that would make him look normal. It was a long road to perfection, with many many bumps along the way, but eventually he mastered it. And that was when they declared him normal, and the eyes stopped prying.

By the age of 16 he decided to enroll into the magic school of Demonology. Much to his parents disdain, they always hoped he would follow in their footsteps and become a technician himself. But he wanted to know more about souls, and why he was so different from the others.
It was easy for him to blend into the new school, he knew what to say and what not to say, to smile where to smile and where not to smile. He made sure he was never associated with the so called 'cool kids' nor the bottom ring. He kept in the gray middle, where no one would bother him.
He found out that he was exceptionally well in the possession classes. He would never ace a test though, even though he knew he could, all to keep up the appearance of staying in the middle.
In his second year they were finally introduced to the wonders of possession. They had already seen someone getting possessed quite a few times now, and now it was finally taught to them.
They warned everybody about these lessons, that the chances of going insane, or even losing control could easily happen. Leo didnt really fear anything, but faked that he did, and then he faked acting tough to cover it up. Life was so complicated.

The day it happened they were all lined up outside a large chamber, normally used for lectures and practicals. inside a ring of priests stood, ready to banish any demon out of a student in case it went wrong.
There were three students before him. he never saw them leave the chamber after they went in, though the screams from inside told him enough. When it was finally his turn, he faked being nervous about it. The tutor explained what was going to happen. First they were going to carve the runes into his skin, allowing him to communicate and control the underworld. After that he was to tame a demon, and take it's power. If he passed that, he would pass this year. If he didnt pass, he would be expelled from the school.
The carving of the runes wasnt especially painful, the priests made sure of that. He had chosen to let them run across his right arm.

Getting into the underworld wasnt that hard, they had been reading up about it for a full year now. Actually seeing the underworld was a lot harder. It was exactly like our world, only blasted to hell... Sorry. A nasty storm seemed to be constantly blowing through the various cracks in the buildings, eroding the stone walls even further. Dark figures soared the sky, visible through the cracked roof.
That was when he spotted her, Persephone. She was casually sitting there, on one of the students desks. She had grown to a full woman now. She smiled at him as if nothing had happened, as if they were just two friend meeting again. "I always knew I'd see you here one day." he had forgotten how honey sweet her voice had sounded back in the days, it was even worse now. For the first time in his life he was actually stunned, he had never really thought much about what Persephone actually was. How could a kid possibly have a link like that to the underworld?
He was at a loss of words as Persephone slowly, and gracefully, got up and approached him. She placed her finger on his lips "Ssh ssh shh, you dont have to speak. I know why you had to do it." she had circled around him and wrapped her arms around his waist. "You had to do it because people were watching you." she lay her head between his shoulder blades. "But now... Now we can be together again, forever." it was the way she said forever, a twisted vile sound, that snapped Leo back to life. He struggled out of her embrace and stepped away from her "What did you do with the other students that came here?" he said coldly, a flinch of hatred could be seen on Persephone' face. "Those I considered unworthy, so I disposed of them." she let out a malicious chuckle. "Much unlike you." she came walking towards Leo again, caressing her body, but he backed off "I know of this test Leo, you are here to tame a demon and take it's power. And I'm willing to help you. Tame me Leo, tame me." she said in her most seductive voice as another malicious chuckle followed, but Leo remained calm as ever. He was the real master here. And for some reason Persephone seemed to have picked this up, because her laugh quickly died away.
He felt the runes on his arm burn with energy as he willed the demon in front of him in submission. "I control you now, Persephone." He saw that Persephone was struggling, until finally she buckled and let her head hang. "Have it your way, dearest Leo. You may take my power, for now. But know that I will be watching over you."

And just like that he was back in the chamber, where apparently only a few seconds had passed. A most terrible pain was rippling through him, as the left side of his body was slowly transforming. Blackened scales grew out of his hands and legs, and he was also pretty sure he was growing a single breast. By the time the pain had left him, he found himself on hands and knees breathing heavily. His vision was strange, he saw the outlines of his own hands light up with a blue aura. And as he looked up, he also saw that same aura around the priests and the tutor. The man applauded and moved in closer. "Congratulations, you have successfully been possessed by a demon, and kept control." he held a mirror in front of him, showing him that exactly half his body, his left side to be precise, had turned into that of Persephone. Including black hair and a single breast. Leo looked at himself in the mirror unable to speak. But the pain quickly returned, as his body started to return to normal again. It was a horrifying experience. He was exhausted and collapsed on the floor by the time it was done. The tutor and priests stood around him, but he was also certain a new person was in the room now. An old friend.

"We'll be together. Forever."

Additional Training: Taken up fencing in his spare time, which makes him a swordsman to be reckoned with.

You can control all of them actually. With the right ritual you could sap some energy from one of the dukes if you could control him. Demonologists who specialize in possession know incantations to sap energy from any type but getting a specific one every time is like winning the lottery.

Plague demonologists use their own blood and demonic magic to turn their blood into a deadly plague. What you want it to do should be stated in your post, but I wouldn't suggest having your character say it out loud.

Would we be allowed to have multiple characters? I myself want to make two, mainly because I can't seem to decide between the two characters I have in mind.

Appearance: Adalrich looks like a proper Aryan as his father use to say, though he likes to change it often. He always returns to it though, in memory of his father, even if the man had been highly racist. At fourteen, Adalrich is a bit short at five foot even, and he is thin, almost anorexic looking though he does eat. His hair is a pale blond, short cropped at the back with bangs reaching his thin shoulders; his face is sharp, regally angular as his father had said. His skin is pale and surprisingly unblemished which causes his Prussian Blue eyes to show more brightly.

Adalrich wears simple black jeans and sneakers as well as a dark red t-shirt over a white long-sleeve. The t-shirt has a light grey design of the Prussian flag on the left breast. He has a black backpack with white trimming which he keeps both his book which he learns from and the robe his father wished him to wear, which he never does.

Weaponry: Adalrich carries a simply made quarterstaff, Five feet long and made of dark stained maple, it has titanium ends that are only slightly bigger than the one-and-a-half inch thickness. He also has a small simple hunting knife strapped to his calf.

Personality: Adalrich is much the opposite of his father, he is timid and quiet, very passive. He never yells and often he got taken advantage of in school. But he is stubborn and learns quickly; now knowing that he is smart enough to get out of most situations. He is very empathic and cares greatly for others, his kindness often the thing that most people remember about him.

Background: Adalrich was raise by his heavily racist father, his mother running out when he was three. His father taught him the craft of Metamorphosis as a child, and Adalrich only got better when he got to school. His father was an angry man, but not an abusive one. He was strict and loud and drank a lot, he was not a compassionate man. Adalrich decided at a young age to be much kinder than his father, and became a necromancer to help people instead of just prove his power like his father did.

When Adalrich’s father died in a car crash when he was twelve, Adalrich learned to live on his own, as his father’s will forced him to be emancipated and he had left him money to live on for many years. Because of his previous experience and practice, due to his father’s harsh training, he graduated early and is now searching for the evil, despite his young age. He only hopes that his knowledge will be enough to protect him.

Additional Training: Lock picking and simple computer use (gaming), stealth and pick-pocketing

I thought that perhaps they had one, or more, demons 'tamed'

A few questions I have to ask, first so is everyone human, secondly what types of undead can I summon, and third Can I enchaant certain undead so that they have different quailitys or will I have to use the corpse of a fire monster to get my Flaming Skeleton I desire.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Peter wears a black coat that has a crimson red skull on the back with a few small splatters of red near it; it also has two intertwining skeletal arms that hold up the crimson red skull. The coat has 3 buttons all going down the area where his stomach would be to keep the coat in place. Its sleeves go all the way down to his wrist where he wears dark purple leather gloves. He has two pockets on his coat that go straight down; the pockets are near his side and are where his arms would lie if he put them down and to his side. Beneath the coat he wears a lime green vest, same opening and design as the coat but with the pockets closer to his stomach and of course not as long. Beneath the vest is a purple shirt with a purple hexagon pattern that seems to have different shades of purple for each hexagon, sometimes even splitting the shadings in half. He wears dark purple paints with thin black lines going down it. For his feet he wears striped socks of various colors and almost poop brown beaten up shoes that have bits of it sewn back on.

Peter has brunette wild hair that has strands go in several directions and has little to no grooming, as if he just rubs his hands into his hair and rubs vigorously to get it how he likes it. Peter has a average build, with what could be called a healthy amount of fat and muscle on him. He seems to be about average height, standing at 5 feet 7 inches. Peter has green eyes that seem to match with his vest and pale Caucasian skin.

Weaponry: Peter has many knives in his pockets of various sizes (Roughly 12). All of them hand sized however. In his right pants pocket however is an automatic pistol and a knife with a brown wooden hilt and the center of it has been taken out for faster movement and less weight.

Background: Peter was born as a nobody in this world. His mother divorced his father at the age of 2 and he was forced to go along with his dad. He was homeschooled until he was 9 leaving him with little social skills as he was sent off to real school. He found it to be a living hell and had constantly schemed against everyone near him, setting up convoluted schemes that pitted people against each other. It was not until he was 14 that they took notice and stopped him. Sending him off to a reform school to get better, and by reform school they meant a kind of juvenile detention center. He was beaten up and forced to do even more scheming due to the tenacious attitude of the people living there. For many years he fended for himself until he eventually snapped, he soon lost any trace of seriousness in him and simply laughed whenever he was sucker punched or Charlie horsed, causing a sort of awkward and fearing enigma to follow him. It was in the Juvie that he discovered his favorite knife, Smiler, the one he always has in his pants pocket. It was the prized knife of the warden in the Juvie, and he had used it to intimidate the children who were rebellious and tried to fight back. Gathering a group of other delinquents he formed a plan that ensured that the Warden would be taken down. Three days afterwards the plan was initiated and a riot broke out in the cafeteria, Peter however was staying in his cell the entire time, waiting for two of his helpers to begin phase 2. After a severe pummeling the Warden had subdued the riot with his guards, only for alarms to begin blaring as all other cell mates were released from there bars. A flood of fresh new fighters came surging into the cafeteria, trying to break out of the prison as the Warden and his men began to blockade it. Peter strolled over to the cafeteria and calmly walked forward to where the Warden was, signaling two people to attack him. The Warden was caught off guard and was pinned down by one of the fighters until Peter went into a mad frenzy, hysterically laughing and kicking the fighter away as he shaked his hands and made “Bloogalahabada blarghala!” noises towards the fallen fighter before kicking him. He then turned around and stepped on the Warden, trying to get back up, before he pulled the knife out of the sheath, turned the Warden over, and stuck the blade in the Wardens mouth. In two quick swoops he had cut the Wardens face in a way that gave the blade its nickname. Quickly shoving the knife into his cell mate’s pocket he ran away from the fight and returned to his cell, waiting for the fight to end. 3 months later the investigation came to the conclusion that his Cellmate must have killed the Warden. Quickly taking the Knife back from his Cellmate before he was sent to the electric chair, Peter grinned as he twirled the knife. 5 weeks later he was let free from the Detention Center for good behavior and serving a majority of his time.

Free from the Center he knew he had to find a job, he took lessons in acting and performing with what little money his father gave him. He performed for money, only barely being able to feed himself. It was not until a shady looking character came to one of his goofy performances that he thought of being a Necromancer. He moved from the Slums over to the Necropolis, bought his clothes, and began to study and perform until he could buy several more knives and a gun that he uses to intimidate and scare people. Even using his minions as actors, dancers, and singers (More of grunters really).

Additional Training: Performing, Acting, Singing, Dancing. He is rather good with a knife and is excellent at scheming and making plans.

I would just like to point out though that you can't change into an animal. The last time I ran this someone made that mistake.

Example: Lothian rips out his spine and sharpens the vertebrae turning his spinal cord into a bladed whip.

You can change anything as long as you remain humanoid. No animal shifting. Thats for advanced druids. Thats an example of acceptable depending on how advanced you are. Lothian is actually your boss.
