League of Legends is a brand new 5v5 or 3v3 Champion arena, with multiple champions/items/summoner talents/summoner spells at your disposal along with bushes and the fog of war to provide adequate moments to surprise, evade or get ganked by; enemy players.

Optional ingame purchases such as Exp-boost, Influence point boost and Champion skins available by purchasing special ingame currency called Riot-points.
The game works on a standard 3-lane format for the 5v5 bracket, a solo champion in mid and 2 others in each lane attempt to push 3 towers and the Nexus to win the game entirely. Neutral unit buffs in the jungle are available for both caster and physical damage carries to give you a stronger advantage over your enemies but be wary of the Baron lurking in the lake!
The 3v3 bracket is designed with 2 lanes, 2 towers each, and a wide jungle with strong neutral buffs.

Heroes of Newerth is, like League of Legends, a dota clone. Standard 5v5 with 3 lanes format with creeps (Walking gold) spawning regularly every minute or so to help push the enemy back, or die to give gold to the champions who killed them for better gear to carry into late-game.

Ingame points called 'Goblin coins' and "Silver coins" are earned by Buying coins or playing games. Nothing in this game is available with gold-coin exclusivity, anything you can buy with Gold can be bought with silver coins, Though sometimes for a much larger quantity.
Gold coins are bought in the store, Silver coins are earned through feats accomplished in a single game, capping at roughly 40silver coins if you had an amazing killing spree (etc etc) but as low as 4 coins for feeding and just generally being terrible.
The game can seem unfair at times, with many characters having an ultimate that will destroy whole teams or simply eliminate one crucial threat, the balance here is that this is needed to keep games short.
There is no gold-reduction if you have killed an enemy repeatedly, thus allowing you to get very fed very quickly. The result is (on average) a 25 minute game, some go on longer than others.
Heroes of Newerth allows players to deal with griefing teammates ingame by calling a 'kick' vote, which allows you to remove the player entirely (Nobody likes a feeder who keeps feeding)
There is also Concede and Pause.
Pause is used if someone disconnects, it freezes the game for about 2 minutes but can be turned off manually, this is meant to keep one team from gaining a heavy advantage while someones internet is out of commission.
The heroes in this game are incredibly well designed, all built with a singular purpose to be accomplished, their skills reflect this entirely.

This game is multi-servered, so there is no US/Euro servers. You can play with everybody without any latency issues (most of the time)
