Now, for those of you who don't know, a Haiku is a Japanese style of poetry that's three lines. The first line is five syllables, the second is seven, the third is five syllables again. Example follows:

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes, and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.
By syllables/phonics(hyphens sperate the syllables.)
Thre-thengs-ar-sir-tun
Deth-tak-ses-and-lost-dah-tuh
Gess-wich-has-uh-kird

Now, this won't be valid for this contest because we have a theme and that doesn't fit the theme. To keep the roots of Haiku and my sensibilities, our theme will be... summer.

The contest will end 20050625 or one week from now at midnight.

The winner will receive absolutely nothing except kudos and possibly a 2-3000 word short story when I have the time to write it on anything they want.

The winner will be selected by myself so you better be spry because I'm a very hard to please man. Ask any of my exes.

Edit: Forgot to mention, enter as many times as you like. Haiku is an art and art must be practiced.
