~Kaylee Brynn: Carnival, Stage----It was supposed to educational~
"I swear, one of these days you're going to be the death of me."
A girl and her brother, the perfect duo. The girl was a hyperactive young lady, with flowing black hair tied in a ponytail, and a hoodie tied around her waste. She was skipping around excitingly, while her brother calmly walked, with an annoyed look on his face. He did not miss the people passing by, shooting him pitying looks. They were at the carnival, one of Kaylee's favorite places to be. There were many times when she wanted to join the circus, but this she never admitted to her brother nor her father. They would have flipped out on her.
She came from a family of honor, who took their work and reputation seriously. Sometimes her family members could take things too far. As her father said, "Honor comes before reason". Or something like that. Kaylee never payed any attention to her father's lectures. She would rather go outside and play, and watch birds flying in the air. A life led with honor sounded pretty boring. Unfortunately, her brother didn't think so, being sent to work for a warriors guild and back again. He used to be a fun guy, but now he's so serious...and BORING. Kaylee liked to remind him of this every now and then.
Evidently, they both came to the city they were in with guilds on their mind. Sel was supposed to return to his own guild, and Kaylee had to sign up for a guild of her own (much to her dismay). It was one of the conditions for her to come with Sel on his travels. It was either this or stay with her horrible father. Needless to say, Kaylee was having a blast with her brother. They had just arrived in Reis, and Kaylee heard from a conversing couple that there was a carnival going on. Beforehand they had seen many spectacles in other cities, including a rather horribly written play. Kaylee even managed to get her brother to buy her a spear (which she was showcasing proudly in the streets), and in return he taught some of his fighting moves, even though Kaylee didn't understand why. Still, it was really fun to spend some quality time with her brother again.
Now they were at the carnival. It took awhile to convince Sel to bring her here. He really wanted to sign her up for a guild right away so he could return to his own. But Kaylee insisted that they went to the carnival. She even made the face. No matter how disciplined Sel was, he simply could not resist the face. He soon came to regret his decision, as Kaylee skipped around him excitingly.
"Oh, cheer up big brother!" she exclaimed to him. "It'll be fun!"
Sel groaned, "'Fun' is not what I need right now."
Suddenly a large group of people passed them by, chatting excitingly amongst themselves. A couple of them pushed Sel aside, obviously in a hurry. Grunting, Sel said, "Honestly I don't see the hurry." Something tugged at his sleeve, and not surprisingly it was his sister, pointing at a gathering crowd in the distance. "What is it now?" he asked her. "There's a performance going on!" she cried. "And look, one of them's using a poleaxe!"
"Hm" muttered Sel. He recognized the term "Ruby Warrior". Apparently the guy was a legend. He supposed he could allow Kaylee to watch him for the rest of the performance. After all, exposure to the skills of others were always a good thing for development. Perhaps Kaylee could learn a thing or two. "Fine, let's go see what this guy can do. But after this we-" Sel didn't even get to finish. "YAY!" cried his little sister loudly, giving her big brother a huge, bone crushing hug in the process. "Can't....breath....bones....crushing....too.....strong...." Sel gasped as Kaylee finally let go of him, grinning like a goofball. He shook his head, "What did mom feed you? Oh, well...we'll worry about that later. Just go, and do what have you. But come back after the show. We still need to sign you up for a guild. And be courteous!"
"Alright!" Triumphant, the young woman ran towards the stage, pushing her way through the crowds so she could get a better view of the so called "Ruby Warrior". She was awestruck by his wondrous performance. It was wonderful, the way he handled his poleaxe. She would even been as daring as to call him better than her brother. The performance soon ended, and Kaylee let out a cheer. She HAD to get this guy's autograph. Maybe she could get him to autograph her spear! That would make it even more special!
With determination, Kaylee made her way to the front, eventually knocking into Mauro. But Kaylee was so excited, she didn't think to apologize. She only waved frantically in the Ruby Warrior's direction. "Mr. Ruby Warrior! Mr. Ruby Warrior! Over here!"
Meanwhile, her brother was making a trek through the crowds of his own, looking for his little sister. He was not the happiest bloke, she was supposed to have met up with him. He caught sight of her rummaging through the crowd, seemingly to meet the Ruby Warrior. This caused Sel to facepalm himself, "How embarrassing." Sighing, he made his way after her, excusing himself over and over again as he made his way through the crowd. Quite unlike Kaylee, Sel had a sense of mannerism.
