Uh hmm, the arrows were made of PURE MAGICAL ENERGY WHICH BURNS AT HIGH INTENSITIES.
Yeah, and thanks for taking notice. :]

Okay.

Then give some reasons exactly why that should factor in to make metal skin vulnerable.

Well, the main reason would be that the arrows that Helios fires, all his weapons too in fact, are made up of pure magical energy that surrounds him. Judging by all the people and magic weilders surrounding me, it affects my attacks by quite a level. Imagine a sponge immersed in a small plate of water, it would just expand by a small size but give it more and it continues expanding.
Thus, the more energy, the more power.
And mind you, it's pure magical energy. Meaning it can let off intense heat that can pretty much do a lot of damage on metallic substances.

If you're expecting melting, you'd need hundreds, if not thousands of degrees of heat to actually matter to bodies converted to pure metal. And that would have irradiated all around you when you made it, burning your soft flesh very much easier than it could hardened steel.

That aside, energy is energy. It's controllable, raw force. You may be absorbing thick amounts of raw force to use, but when trying to shove it straight into a large mass made for defensive measures such as the metallic form these things carry, you might as well be trying to shoot a pistol into the ground. You may make a scratch with what strength you got, but you're not strong enough to actually matter to it. And that's if the force is focused at one point. Seeing as you scattered the energy to spread it out, you weakened what little damage you could have done.

Reason: I created Harper and Breeder to fight the teachers, so I had designed them with higher levels of power than what the students might be able to contend with.

2 things

1. if your bugs can turn "metallic" would they, in that form, be susceptible to the magnetic properties Basil can bring out with his magic?, or would they not be effected magnetically but would be even more so effected by simple electricity?

2. even if you weren't to melt the bug's metal, if you theoretically put enough energy into an object, wouldn't it turn out similar to a microwave and simply cook it from the outside in?

They keep the metal stored in one area, then disperse it evenly throughout the body. What stands for the outer parts stands for the innards as they all became the same material in the metallic form. With exception of the eyes, but you guys know what happens there. And having them explode while the metal is already spread out would create a wider range, so...

And really, they always got metal to them somewhere. You guys want to try something, try it. I'm not gonna just keep telling you ahead of time that things won't work. That'd get you spoiled for later fights. And you're already gonna be needing luck from what I've seen of things, so making you reliant upon being told potential weaknesses won't be that helpful.

Yea, I'm not looking forward to the part where everyone has to fight Salt.

At least I'm keeping it to just him. By the time of that fight, he'll have grown strong enough to have gotten one more power. One that I admit would make the boss battle some pretty epic shit considering the location I have in mind...

I'm sure you'll all love two rounds of rock-on-fire fury.

ok I understand the whole not telling weaknesses and all, although I would like to know one thing, what is the metal with which the bugs are basically turning most of their bodies into. copper?, Iron?

@Ro Wong: I'm not necessarily talking about melting attacks but more likely the ability to pierce through their skin. And if it would work, the explosion be more internal since I'm using multiple arrows as a barrage right before impact on the target.

Can't really say what metal it is, either. But only because these things eat metal and there's no way to properly tell what type is higher in count to the rest. So most likely a cross between several of the hardest types, since they've mostly only been eating weaponry and armor.

And Mac... Okay, so you're trying to use a scattershot to pierce through metallic armor that's over two feet thick.

I'll just say it more flat for you: No damage caused and it made no real difference to these things. There, problem solved.

Mac once this storm blows over if you could get those bugs to become metallic i'm sure Basil could help in one way or another, and even if they aren't metallic at the time i'm equally sure that a good shock with at the least stun them

The post below mine on the first page will have an updated list involving every student and teacher currently in play.
