((Keiran's Post will be Blatantly ignored until he fixes it.))
Vergil's quick thinking saved him from serious acid burns as the cloud past harmlessly under him. However, Enine failed to react fast enough, getting some rather severe burns as the acid dissolved his sleeve and began doing the same to his arm.
The billowing cloud of Acid also dissolved Vergil's bullet before it could reach the creature, before it began dissipating.
During this time, As Enine's demons attacked the mutant acidic spawn of humpty-dumpty, they found their blades passing through it cleanly, and shallow, as if through slick wet putty. The Creature laughed, a sound that closely resembled dry heaving, as the shallow wounds inflicted slowly began to close up with a sizzling noise. It didnt appear plain physical damage would do much to this one, or at least not of the cutting variety.
As the blasts from the Centipede-man's cannon descended on the alley, Max's whirlwind deflected most of the shots headed his way, though it unfortunately deflected a fair number towards his allies, so they were now in danger of being hit from 2 directions. The remainder of the deflected blasts hit the ground around the group, sending up small bursts of dust and dangerous concrete shrapnel. Luckily, Ein's Gateways ate a good number more of the blasts, though there were still a fair number that were in danger of hitting him, Arillo, Roy, and Milan.
As for the centipede man himself, he grinned as Vergils bullets bounced harmlessly off its hard shell, but began giving off a truly ear-splitting screech when one of Max's fireballs hit it, as it began twisting it's body here and there with surprising dexterity in order to avoid his aim. it Screeched again, likely inflicting pain on the ears of anyone nearby as Rei's fire allowed her dagger to pierce it's shell. Without Warning, it swung it's upper body down to the ground, using the vestigial spines on it's sides to propel itself with the speed of a striking snake, also weaving through the group like one as it made it's way behind them. Standing up again once it was out of range, it unslung it's weapon again and took aim.
However, Things only started getting REALLY weird when Charles teleported. The pain he should have felt when teleporting was oddly lessened, like he was feeling a version of it as described by someone else. Even odder was, From the point he teleported and where he appeared, What could only be described as a ripple came into being, spreading out from that point. for a moment, it seemed merely odd, but where the ripple touched their enemies, they simply ceased to exist, like an image blocked from view, only the rest of the world appeared as normal and unobstructed. Similar ripples, though smaller and shorter in range were noticeable coming from Ein's Gateways. besides the enemies, where the ripples touched anything they had caused, or altered, those also disappeared momentarily, such as the craters let by the cannons blasts. Where the ripple touched Enine's burned arm, it momentarily appeared completely normal, sleeve and all, and the pain dulled, though it didnt leave entirely. What was perhaps even more bizarre was that the enemies didnt appear to notice any of it at all, and continued doing whatever it was they were doing, as if they couldn't even see it.
Kallis Watched this with bewilderment, as the familiar Black mist coalesced at into a solid blade on the hilt. " What the Hell Was that?!" He called out To Charles. "Has That ever happened before?" Even with his mediocre understanding, he was fairly sure this shouldnt happen when teleporting, even in a distortion. Even then it didnt explain the thugs reactions. Whatever Charles answer was, Kallis was sure something was still wrong here, and it wasnt a dimensional Distortion.
