Much as I love Blossom and Dexter, it's nice to see a switch to Buttercup and Jack.

I've got a feeling the girls beside BC are more interested her reaction to Jack than the lesson itself.

Well first of all, kendo and kenjutsu are two different martial arts... in kendo you use protective armor called "bogu" and in kenjutsu you don't, in kendo one of the most important things to have in mind is "Ki Ken Tai"
Ki: Spiritual state of a Kenshi (one who practice kendo) focused in a situation or attitude, expressed by means of the shout or KIAI
Ken: Precise movement or domain of the sword, understanding itself to the effect that the weapon is the extension of the Kenshi.
Tai: Movement or attitude of the body of the Kenshi as a whole, demonstrating his total concentration in the blow.
And when all this three are in harmony and happen at the same time, together they work as one, and this is called "Ki Ken Tai Ichi"

Concept: Kendo is a way to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the Katana.

Purpose: To mould the mind and body.
To cultivate a vigorous spirit,
And through correct and rigid training,
To strive for improvement in the art of Kendo.
To hold in esteem human courtesy and honor.
To associate with others with sincerity.
And to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself.
Thus will one be able:
To love ones country and society.
To contribute to the development of culture
And to promote peace and prosperity among all peoples.

The character on the right reads "gi" (in Japanese of course) and has a broad meaning like "justice", "duty", "faith", and so on. It is frequently used in martial arts' context to write "giri" （義理）, "duty".

On the left, the characters don't make any sense used together. The first one means "to train", "to forge". The second, "to raise" (in raising a child), and the last one means "love".

By the way, I've discovered your comics on snafu approximately a week ago and read them all. Bleedman, you're god! I have the luck of having a good knowledge of Cartoon Network's cartoons, and to see what you've done with them is a real delight. Unlike most of comics artists one would usually find on the net, you are as brilliant in dialogs and scenario as you're a good designer (and I mean a really good one!) I eagerly wait to see what you'll come up with next.
