Because Disney bought their majority shares. It is a stock market concept, control the majority shares, control the company.

Marvel will still stay Marvel, and I doubt their command structure will change very much. I wouldn't be surprised if the Disney logo in there movies now.

Same thing happened with Budweiser, and a German Beer company. I believe with Budweiser it was more of a hostile takeover.
