This thread is for Error Reporting. We've had some bugs reported and noticed some of on our own lately, and want to iron out all the problems we can. If you find a bug please report it here, and we'll get on it.

In the main site your avatar and username is used but in here youryou're Dave.
I was referring to Herms.

Also Nick has experienced this as well only it's the opposite.

Oh that is odd. I guess I posted in the braindead section and it must just default to nick in the forums. Like when herms posts in the snafu section it defaults to dave. That's an error I never even thought of till now. oops.

I've now fixed that bug halfway. The other half will have to wait since it will be a bigger pain. Now if a comic author posts on another comic his name will show up in the forum.

The text appears slowly and badly and jumpy into the box. I start typing and the letters take time to actually appear: the text marker line goes on ahead without the words. Also, very hard to operate if the text goes past the normal size of a box, because the box is continually jumping and moving back to the beginning--it makes it damn near untypable with a big post.

Is this when you're posting stuff on PPG?

The thing with the text box bouncing has been going on since Dave revamped the whole site.

What browser are you guys using I haven't ever seen this problem. I just tested it and I can type as fast as I want and the text boxes don't jump.

You have to type a very lengthy post. When you do, move the mouse cursor out of the text box. It doesn't matter what browser we use, it's the same for all. It's happened to me on IE and Firefox.

The only browser I can recreate the problem in is IE, and I blame this on IE being a processor hog and slowing itself down. It was using half of what FireFox is using with 10 tabs open.

So then I tested for the bug in IE 8.0.6 and was able to reproduce it.
IE Mem usage ~51,000
WHILE TYPING my CPU usage would spike to 50% (THE FUCK)

In Firefox 3.0.12 I opened 20 tabs but never got the CPU above 2% at any point and did not experience the bug...

Yeah, i don't know what versions I am using but I am trying to use the latest versions of both IE and Firefox. They both get the quoted error, as well as the text taking a while to appear, with my memory to 50%.

I've never noticed a problem with slowdown; only the text box bouncing.

Whenever I access viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41652&view=unread#unread
(Clicking to look at unread posts in the Discussion thread in the Snafu forums)

For the last week or so, I've always been brought to the top of page 18. It seems to only happen with that thread, though. The Unread posts feature seems to work everywhere else.

I have the EXACT same problem as Jay. Only thread I've ever had that problem, and it's also only been recently.

It puts me on page 17, but I don't really do anything with PHPBB it's probably just not setting a cookie or something and that was the last page you'd read to. I'll take a look though.
Edit: Seems to work now.

Also the textfield jump is an issue with the browser/processor, so there's noting that can really be done for it.

Still having the problem.

However, it seems to only happen ONCE every time I log in.

When I went to it again after posting that post before, it worked fine.

But then I went to it again just now (after having logged off), and it happened again.

I just tested again today at random because I was getting auto logged out so I had a good chance to see and it seems to have resolved itself. It may have been a cookie issue.

On the issue of getting auto logged out as soon as you log in.

PHPBB seems to set multiple user cookies if more than one person has logged on with your computer. To fix the problem just delete your cookies for snafu-comics.com and log in again this should fix the problem. If you're having problems like this and what I've mentioned here doesn't work let me know.

When I click refresh, or press F5, it sends me back 3 pages in a thread.

This. And it's not just one thread. It's all of them.
