ætђєr ært [Old & New Sketches]

Postby Æther » Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:32 am

Hey guys. I just though I would share some sketches I've done over the years.

I apologize if some of the photos are bad quality as in part because I don't have a better camera for now and I don't own a scanner.

That brown spot is from dust or something. This piece of paper has been sitting in my room collecting dust for some time now.

That's pretty much all the "good" stuff I have laying around. I might find more but I don't know.

I am posting this in order to help motivate myself to keep the drawing/sketching fire a live in me.

Very nice portraits, you can definitely tell improvements in your work over the years! Loving the hat on the last one.

I need to improve my drawing with clothes and pretty much anything that isn't the face. You can see that I was fairly careful with the fact and hate and part of his hair. But then when you get further down I loose concentration and just start scribbling the rest. Then again, I need to fix it up a bit, draw the rest of his right side (of the picture) and try to draw the rest of the couch in.

Edit: Then again, this was like from 2:30am to around 4am last night. I suppose my concentration isn't too high during that time...

Yeah, you need to work on folds and how the clothing hangs on them. But you seem to know what you've got to work on, which I like. :3

Yeah. I've taken a few art classes in high school.

If there's one thing I've really learned during that time is that I should never be fully satisfied with any artwork I produce. Always find ways to improve. Hopefully I can keep that up.

I'm done with this now. I could probably work on it more I suppose but I pretty much did what I wanted to do.

Wanted to take a little break tonight from "serious" sketching to make this gag.

Oh, and that's a chainsaw graphed into its arm and it's hitting something to make that little explosion/fire.

I wish they were. But no, these are [edit: based off of] real people.
