Oh ya never know with Grid's. (but it's fun guessing ;) ) she'll probably be back to normal in a Week knowing her recovery rate.

At any rate, looks like the plot's thickening. Who's appearance is next? Bell maybe? Or Bl...The Helix Team.

Buttercup's state might remain this way for longer, should it be needed for some plot points. Knowing she's not 100% capable now it might result in some scenes different than when she'd be entirely healthy.

Yeah you'd just love a scene of her lung's getting crushed while somones standing on her stomach. And she's hacking blood while gasping for her few breaths of air after being beaten down in a speed race because she was too winded and...wow, i'm getting into this Again.

Good God it's starting already.

If she doesn't want that to happen, she'll have to train more on Asian martial arts.

And she needs therapy/rehab.

I think its been roughly 2-5 months since the events of Reunifications. I'm not sure exactly how I came up with that figure, though.

She's probably gonna be feeling her lungs slowing her down for the rest of at least part 1 of the Helix Saga (which is a perfectly fine name, I forgot to add last time.)

Re: Griddles' new series - Part One: Talisman

Postby GridsNaranek » Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:55 am

"My name is Blossom Utonium, and I am eight years old. My birthday is on January 17, but I was not born in the usual sort of way. My sisters, Buttercup and Bubbles, as well as myself, came into this world in a very peculiar manner. We were born with powers that made us different from other people. However, we decided to use these powers to protect innocent lives and save our home city from evildoers and those who wish to cause pain and misery to others. Together, the three of us became known as... the Powerpuff Girls.

"Our creator, Professor Utonium, was trying to create for himself a perfect child which he could raise and love as his own. He mixed together three important ingredients that everyone knows go together to make the perfect girls - sugar, spice and all things nice. However, that wasn't all. The Professor accidentally knocked over a jar containing a fourth ingredient; one that for some reason made all the difference. Nobody knows what it really is, but to scientists like the Professor, it was called 'Chemical X'. The Chemical engulfed the ingredients, and in a single brilliant flash of light, his mixture was gone. But in its place stood the three of us. I do not remember much about the first little while of our lives. All I remember is being so happy and full of energy and believing that people like the Professor were kind enough to deserve something in return. He gave us our names - which all start with B - and after a while we came to call the city of Townsville our home, and we protected it and its people with our lives. That was five years ago... we were born as children and not as babies, so even though we say we are eight, we're not quite that old really. We went to Pokey Oaks Kindergarten and everyone in Townsville loved us. But we couldn't stay in the one place forever..."

"Actually it was more like five and a half, when you think about i-"

"I'm not done yet!"

"Pff, sorry..."

"In Townsville, we made a lot of friends. But, we quickly made a lot of enemies as well. From robbers and thugs to the most evil of all evil, we had to protect the city from it all. We even had to defend it from giant monsters that came to Townsville from an offshore place that it took the military only until recently to quarantine. The city would have been doomed without us. Many memories from our early lives were of us taking down the baddies and saving the day before we had to be home for bed. A lot of them were strange, too... like the time the Mayor called us in to his office when he'd misplaced his clothes... or the time a baddie named Mojo Jojo turned everyone into big chunks of meat-"

"That wasn't Mojo, it was Fuzzy Lumpkins!"

"Shut up, those kinda details aren't important anyway! Uh... ahem... No doubt many of those we defeated still hold a big grudge against us and wish to see us taken out someday... but thankfully that's yet to happen. Eventually, the Professor found himself a new job as a lecturer at a university. It meant a more stable income for the family and better opportunities for him to provide the three of us with a stable upbringing to counterbalance the rough lives we led as superheroes-"

"Counter... bala...?"

"Look it up, Bubbles. The downside to him finding a job, however... was that we had to move away from the city that we held so dear and called home for our whole lives. We packed up early one morning and set out on a five hour trip north, arriving in a brand new city to meet brand new people and start our brand new lives. That place is called Megaville.

"For just under a year now we've been living here and things haven't changed too much. Still there are robbers, crooks and lowlifes that need a little lesson in law and order. Still there are people trying to do us in simply because we protect the weaker and less able. And still we gotta do all this before our bedtime. But that's the life we chose to lead. It's a life that's difficult and challenging and yet it's an adventure. We've met so many wonderful people already and surely there'll be more to see and do in the years to come. Some of those people go to school with us every day. Some of them we see when we fly over the streets on the way to save somebody. And some... some of them we haven't seen in a long time but we'll hopefully see again. It's those people that make what the three of us do so rewarding. We will do this all our lives because that's what we decided the moment our minds were made up. One day, we even hope to save the entire planet. Or... who knows? Maybe we have already. But, right now, all I want to do is study hard, make new friends... and hopefully pass this oral presentation! Thanks for listening!"

She lowered the sheet and sighed, her mouth spreading into a grin. She met the eyes of the Professor, who sat on the couch observing her as she rehearsed her class presentation about herself and her life. It was required work and even the Professor remembered doing one just like it when he was in second grade. Bubbles had already completed hers and although it was less sophisticated than Blossom's he was pleased with hers as well. Buttercup had yet to even show him a rough draft, although she promised she'd get it done before it was due on Thursday.

From robbers and thugs to the most evil of all evil

I can't remember if in the show he was "the most evil of all evil" or "the greatest evil of evils".

I don't see evil on Him. He's just a rejected clone of Satan.

Well, he is nowhere near truly evil, but he claims to be. Obviously Him being the "evillest" of all foes of PPG in the original show came out only due to the targeted audience who would not handle evil of greater calibre.

Technically, HIM was meant to be Satan in PPG but due to the Higher ups of CN we all know and love. Satan got turned into a Effeminate possible cross-dresser with switching between different forms of sinister talking, not 100% evil that we want but still effed up crazy good for a CN "morning" cartoon.

I actually think Him in GT looks pretty sweet. He's got a sorta Pimp of hell feel to him now. When i saw HIM for the first time i was like why couldn't they have made him look like that instead. Now he does look cooler though the voice would still scare people shitless.

I think I always liked Him cuz he had style and plenty of it. Some of the stuff he did made you question his evilness but when push came to shove Him was about as cruel and sadistic as they came.

"You shoulda mentioned how we got those Star of Induction things just before Christmas... those were cool."

Blossom shot Buttercup a glare, "Whydoncha start worrying about your speech instead of trying to tell me how to do mine?"

The Professor interjected, "Buttercup, if you feel that's important to mention, then put it in your speech. You can even bring along yours as a show-and-tell item. Extra credit!"

Buttercup fidgeted in the armchair, arms folded and gaze diverted, "I... think I lost mine."

Bubbles squeaked, "You can borrow mine!"

"They're named and colour-coded, Bubbles. Like I'd go in there to show off yours."

Bubbles seemed to shrink into the couch next to the Professor as though the fabric backing was absorbing her slowly "J-Just saying..."

Blossom found her time to ask "So how was my talk, Professor?"

"Well it sounded very informative Blossom, and you've got a good structure. Do you think you should maybe mention what you've learned from fighting crime all this time? The audience loves a good moral."

Blossom nodded, "I think I can do that."

Buttercup smirked, "Not if I do it first."

"You haven't even picked up a pencil yet!"

"Well I'm gonna!"

The Professor raised his hands, calling for calm, "Girls, please, let's not fight about this. Blossom, make whatever minor changes you want and then write up the good copy. You'll have the night off tomorrow if you get it done before bed."

Blossom beamed "That won't take long; I'll do it now!" she spun and ran toward the stairs, her orange/brown hair barely keeping up with her.

Buttercup scoffed "Nerd... I think Dexter's having this bad effect on her or something."

The Professor sat back in the couch, Bubbles sidling a little closer to his long white coat in hopes of a quick snuggle, "You could learn a thing or two from him, Buttercup. That way you might actually get your homework done on time." The Professor was a very academic man, himself a college lecturer. However he never strictly enforced his ideals upon his girls if they were not comfortable with them. Already he knew Buttercup would never be a studious one, and Bubbles would never quite be top of the grade. Blossom seemed to embody the perfect student, probably thanks to a little help from her friend Dexter. He'd created these three angels and their choice of career wasn't something they'd rely on education for, which reassured him and at the same time disappointed him. They would not follow in his footsteps. But nonetheless, they'd leave a lasting legacy he would be proud to know he'd helped create - a legacy that would long outlast him and his tired old body.

Ah yes... Utonium's impending death.... now that's a fate all of them cannot avoid, even if the PPG have super powers... Professor's gonna die... soon enough.

Well hopefully, he stays long enough to see her girls grow to be fine ladies... :<

Hopefully he will drop dead soon, providing a push factor for PPGs to be more decided and allowing them to develop some more interesting relations or drawing some more life-related inner conclusions.
