I've been working on my web comic for about a year, now. I have 40ish pages done, and have decided that it's too much work for me to do entirely by myself, now that I'm working and going to college full-time.

I need an artist who can follow a very specific color scheme...it adds to the whole artsy feel to it. It really isn't as difficult as it sounds. Here is the best example I can provide of what I need done: HOWEVER, THERE IS ROOM FOR MODIFICATION AND EXPERIMENTATION



I would most likely to try a little harder on the drawing part if I wasn't dreading the photo-shopping. I already have someone looking to promote the comic. Your reward for this project can be negotiably profitable. I mean....I've already had drunken fans message me on AIM...maybe that's a bad thing?

Hope to hear from SOMEBODY soon. I really don't want to give up on this project!

I might be interested. I like photoshopping more than drawing anyways.

I'm not really getting what you're saying about the color scheme. Following a color SCHEME is as easy as using the eyedropper tool. Doing a specific coloring style might be harder, but I don't see anything really weird about that one.

I love experimenting, though, so no trouble there.

Lastly, I will mention I can't beforehand promise I will color all of the 40 pages and beyond. But, really, anyone else that say they can, are lying. Such is the nature of webcomics and the internet.

Hello my name is Del, this is my first post on the forums, Heya everyone.

I hope i can word this right.

Well I've been out of collage for about a year and i need something to do in my free time and i love to draw i went to an art school and just love drawing (not very good but *shrughs*)

I thought i could take a slice of making a webcomic i tried one myself in Junior high but on the computer the images were almost impossible to figure out what they were.

So i would like to know how to take Scanned image X from your Sketch book and turn it into a full blown cleaned up webcomic page or panel Step by step.

Also programs to use and where to get them

As for the comic itself i have a few ideas on the table no deciders yet my original idea was to go something fantasy not 100% sure on what time frame though.

Hmm well there's a lot of stuff you have to do to turn something from your sketchbook into an online comic and you have to be pretty familiar with all the programs involved in doing so. In other words it'll take a lot of time if you don't know how to use some of the programs.

Anyways here's how I usually turn paper into an online digital picture.

1. Scan your picture and either saved it and open with photoshop or just import it directly into photoshop.

2. Set up your comic how you want it to look when your done(I'd use the lasso tool and the move tool in photoshop to move thing around.

3. Trace your picture via Pen Tool on a new layer and make sure that only your new line art shows and not the original after your finish.

4. Alright now that's the lineart i finished you can work on coloring however you want. I do suggest that you use a new layer to color so that you don't mess up your new lineart.

For coloring I would look around for tutorial for different style of coloring since it all depends on how good your skill at coloring are at the moment and whether or not you would want to pump out comics by the truckload or just take it one page at a time.

If your new to photoshop and coloring on the computer I suggest you use
Cel Shading and work your way up from there once you get use to trying other coloring styles.

Well that's the basic step to it and all you need for this is a computer,scanner,photoshop, a mouse and some patiences

For photoshop you can buy it basically anywhere that sells programs and such. Also there's a few more steps that I usually take when I do my pictures that involves other programs and tools and if you can't get photoshop basically any program that allows for layering, the pen tool and select tool will do such as flash or illustrator but photoshop is the one you want for coloring pictures.

Okay... Well, you can get a starter avi from the page you make your profile on, or you can post an image code in the blank box, as long as it's not too big. I don't know pixel measurements, but about the same as everyone else's.

If you're going to be in the art forum, it'd be best if you maade an art topic, with stuff like personal drawings and other things that can be uploaded from a scanner, some computer art, etc. Or you could comment on other's work at the least.

You can ask the other members for more details, but that's the basic idea.
