This is not where you ask for someone in an MMO to do something with you or for you in helping. This is for QUESTIONS that will be ANSWERED. This means if you ask "How do I defeat Alma?" I'd answer "Glitch: Jump at the table beside you and she' won't move so you have freedom to keep shooting."

So keep it like that. If people need more info to answer, be ready with it. Even screenshots if understanding is difficult. And anyone can answer just as much as anyone can ask. All improper answers or "You sucks" Will be deleted immediately.

Every so often I'll sum up the thread here. Empty for now.

How I mine for fish?

Seriously though, I do have a question. If anyone can get their retro hats on I'd love to get some knowledge for the original Hidden and Dangerous. First level. Yes, the first one. Is there some sort of trick to beating the level without being massacred? Even if I kit all my guys with sniper rifles the snipers across the bridge always get me. Always. Is there a trick, is it just an insanely hard game or do I just suck at it?

I'd say the last option.

HIdden and Dangerous, first mission. My demo mission. OKay, I've discovered that guys with higher strength have a lot more resistance to damage. so using the train as cover after it goes by, you use him to rush while others give him cover first from down the tracks. YOu may lose him, but I've found it's the best way to minimize casualities.

Big damn question guys. And yes I already tried google. I just got a usb controller. It's a gamemon controller that i got at walmart. It came with no cd. It came with no instructions. I plugged it in and it recognizes it. I can even go to the properties of the controller and it confirms that every damn button on the controller works. But what i cannot do is assign the buttons to perform certain tasks. How the hell do I do this?!?!?!? How do I program the controller?

Hm, thats a hard one. Some games do come with a setting where you can designate buttons. Go into the games options and select controlls. From there you can pick the action and then press the corrisponding button on your controller. Thats all I can think of for now.

USB controller?

I found something about a USB converter for gamepads.

You could always just try going into a game, go to customise controls and press a button.

As for global settings, that's something you'll need drivers for.

Thanks guys. I understand what the problem is now. Its not as universal a game pad as i was lead to believe. I am hunting down a driver or program that works. I found one that does exactly what I want it to but it's ten bucks and my bank account was shut down. I got it to work on one of my games... to some extent. (the game is retarded in the first place) The problem was my own stupidity apparently.

Does anyone who has F-Zero GX have a secret to beating the hard mode of the first level?

For F-Zero GX, I usually make a custom super-heavy machine with all A stats, then hold L and R while racing. It should give you increased maneuverability with a high top speed. That has been enough for me to win at the Hard difficulty, but I have had some trouble winning Master difficulty races with that technique. For that, I suspect that snaking is all but necessary. Essentially, it allows a lightweight machine to accellerate far past its normal limits. If you have ever seen an F-Zero GX video with the racer swerving back and forth rapidly, that is the technique at work. This is accomplished by balancing the machine to high accelleration, then timing rapid L and R taps with L and R tilts on the Control Stick. I haven't put in the effort to do it well, but you should be able find a more detailed description online. If you only need advice on the first Mute City course, I would just reccommend economical use of boosts. If timed right, most of the course can be run with boosed speed.

This shows the technique at work on another Mute City course, as well as some rather crazy shortcuts.
This is probably the best snaking I have ever seen.

Big technical question, and I know that it doesn't have to do with gameing but this seems like the best place to ask. On most laptops is there a barrier between the keyboard and the inside of the computer? I have to ask because my friend spilled a drink on his lappy and it seems to be running right but were not sure if it is going to have any major effect.

If cleaned and dried quickly, and still seems to work, it's doubtful there is anything to worry about. Most issues would be noticeable pretty fast.

I am still unable to influence Bao-Dur to become a Jedi in KotOR II. I've read quite a few walkthroughs, but still not very sure of it. My question is this: Anybody managed to do that?

Well, I'm having a wierd problem with Never Winter Nights, Diamon Edition. Whenever I press play on the command screen, it shows the loader and then disappears. Nothing else comes up though, so I stay on the desktop. The oddest part is that if I go into task manager, I can find Neverwinter nights Main running as if it was up front and doing stuff. I even let it set for a couple hours to see if something would come up. Nothing.

I've tried cleaning the disc and restarting the computer. Neither have done anything. I ahve also lowered the Config settings, but that has also resulted in no change. Does anyone know something about this?

Also, word on patching it. It seems that there is something wrong with the Chapter 2 Ending file that prevents it from patching. It may be the root of this problem, symptom, or just seperate, but it is driving me insane.

Well, my NWN Diamond Edition is working perfectly, so I can't help you on this.
But, after browsing the Bioware forums for a minute, I've found that you aren't alone:

Find the 1.66 update patch on the dvd that came with the game or download it and reinstall it even if you are already up to ver 1.66. Some how between the end of testing and the making of the DVD at the manufacturer the NWN.exe file became corrupt and they have no explanation for it... Talk about quality control... Reinstalling the 1.66 patch will allow you to play the game fully.

Solution2 wrote:
Navigate to your root Neverwinter Nights installation directory and find your nwn.ini file. Open this file with notepad and find the [Display Options] section. Then edit the [Display Options] section as follows:

[Display Options]
Disable Intro Movies=1
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1

Hope this helps.

It's not impossible. I've done it, though to be honest, he isn't much use. He can't wear robes, wield a saber and sucks at force use.

The process essentially involves using him in your party 100% of the time, as the only real way to gain influence is to wait for those situations where your team mates talk to you, and then follow the options that seem to be his most obvious choices (Reconcile with the war, be the good guy, like the environment, and so on).

Personally, for those that can be Jedis, Mira Jade is an awesome saber specialist, Atton make a good middle-man and the blind sheila (I forget her name) makes for a good consular. Kreia (Spelling?) sucks majorly overall and isn't even there for the latter half of the story. Handmaiden is awesome for dual-wielding. HK-47 is, of course, a personal favourite. Nuts to the Jedi crap, go the guns and attitude.

The Miraluka... Visas...
Also, have you noticed that Kreia is actually useful? For example, if your main character uses Force Speed, Kreia will gain the benefits as well, same applies for all other support powers.

Other than the Chain Link between her and the main character, as Yoshi said, she's pretty useless, what more with just a single hand

She's like the anti-Bao-Dur. He's a gaurdian, she's a consular. He sucks at fighting, she sucks at force-abilities.

They suck at their main abilities :/

So yeah, forget Kreia and Bao-Dur. Kreia is terrible from the start, and Bao-Dur isn't worth the trouble. In order to get the influence you need him in the party at all times. When you have him in the party you need to level him normally to keep him alive. By levelling him normally you use the precious levels that should go to his Jedi Levels. Hence, he gets a low (Really low) Jedi level by the end of the game.

Atton is worth levelling at the start for his scoundrel anly skills, but after getting what you want then just Jedi-Level him. Handmaiden is trickier as she requires appropriate influence before Visas starts engaging you in proper conversation. Visas is easy to influence, has cool abilities, excellent combat skills (Though inferior to Handmaiden [Forgot her name]) and overall awesome. Atton is totally worth keeping in the party for stealth and lockpicking reasons (And things related to that). HK-47 is, well, ten shades of freaking awesome. Mira Jade also gets some mention for being competent (But not special once a Jedi).

Also note that after you get Bao-Dur to Jedi status that he doesn't have extra branching conversations. You don't learn any more of him, don't get neat background information, and you don't get anything neat. At all. The ending is also a gyp. Yes, you get multiple endings, but the whole thing seems thrown together. I would've kept playing the game if you could keep your "crew" and travel around doing the side missions and some other missions (preferably time consuming, awesome ones). To put it bluntly, after the first act, the "recovery" act, it all goes to hell.

Whenever I play bowling on Wii sports, the ball always curves to the left half way down the lane. I've tried twisting and turning that damn thing every which way, but I can't get it to curve right unless I set myself as left handed. Plus I can't throw in a strait line to save my life! Anyone got any advice?
