ersonality: Detatched yet determined. Rin's experiences in the past have made him grow cold and resistant to friendship, even within his own clan. Though not afraid to voice his opinions and ideas he often seems aloof. Rin is capable and cold, but still holds the pride of his clan.
ATS: Rin's attitude has changed little over the last year, save becoming more callus. He has surpassed the potential of many in his own clan, and has come to the edge of detatchment with the only people that share his bloodline. He has become obsessed with the improvement of himself, and with no one to fight he has reached his limit. He yerns for the Hokage to give him more difficult missions, but he is still a genin. With the chuunin exam around the corner and his team returning to konoha (Rai especially), Rin has high hopes to prove himself.
Appearance: Rin sports a lithe frame, as do all of the members of the Makoto clan. He has long arms, bandaged from the shoulder to his widespread fingertips. His torso is covered by a long, white sleeveless shirt, complete with a high cylindrical collar and emblazened on the back with the Makoto clan crest: an open palm cradling a flame. He wears long, many pocketed dark shorts, with a black kunai pouch on his right thigh. His feet are wrapped to the ankles and he wears the traditional open-toed sandals of the shinobi. His headband adorns his throat, instead of the usual place of showmanship and honor on the forehead. Rin only readjusts it to his forehead when he is truely serious about the matter at hand, a rare occurence.
His short brown hair is windswept, shooting off the back of his head as if he were traveling at high speed, and his slightly pointed ears (another characteristic of the Makoto clan) follow the backwards direction. Rins eyes are an icy silver, and his face holds a blank and calm expession. Rin stands at 5' 8", and weighs about 140 pounds. He usually stands with hands in pockets and silver eyes observing every movement from behind his collar.
ATS: Rin has grown a few inches, now standing at 5' 11". His hair has also grown out, keeping its windblown trend. Rin has tied the back into a wrapped ponytail while leaving the top wild and free, allowing his long bangs to frame his face. The tips of his pointed ears have been peirced with a single ring each, and are replaced with studs whenever he is on a mission. His face remains perfect and unblemished, and has become more sharp and mature making him even more attractive than before. The unnerving aspect of his face however is his silver eyes. Free of the childhood innocence of a year ago, Rin has experienced the cruelty of adult life. His eyes still take in everything they see with a peircing gaze. More than a few grown men have shrunk from his gaze. When he looks into someone's eyes they see him looking into their very soul, judging them, appraising their worth. They can also see the hatred and fearce determination hiding behind the perpetual uninterested frown.
Rin has taken to wearing more flowing clothes, and has disposed of the sleeveless shirts of a year ago. He now wears a loosely tied shirt and long pocketless shorts. His long and voluminous sleeves cover the entirety of his arms, and trail behind him when he runs or moves quickly. his hands and arms remain wrapped, and the small bit of his chest visible through the loose shirt is wrapped up to the collarbone. A An arm hangs lazily in the split of the shirt, leaving a sleeve limp at his side and allowing him to easily throw the shirt back to trail behind him while he fights. He has also changed his blue sandals for a darker black.When fighting he shrugs off the shirt and activates his flaming palm technique, effectively ripping his bandages to shreds.
:Justu/Skills:
-Basic training: As a graduate student of the academy, Rin knows all basic ninja techniques.
-Enhanced chakra control- The Mokoto clan is heavily gifted in chakra control and focus. Their specific bloodline allows for the converting of stamina to chakra more efficiently, allowing them to conserve stamina while simultaniously creating an excess of chakra. Those lucky few who inherit the true bloodline of the Mokoto clan are able to convert stamina to chakra with only one hand, or using no seals at all.
-Flaming Palm technique- The Motoko clan teaches a unique fighting style, focusing on hard chops, quick thrusts and air or ground based kicks. Using the tenketsu on his arms, Rin is able to sheath them in a firey blue aura, turning his hands into prescise cutting instruments, turning the already formidible Motoko Taijutsu into a truely leathal dance. The flame dosn't harm Rin, but it sears the skin of anyone who is struck with it.
ATS: Rin has heightened his focus on this jutsu, allowing him to use it longer and more proficiently. One with a keen eye might notice that the chakra emitted from Rin's arms has started to become stringy, streaming off Rin's arms and discorperating. And the color of the flames have brightened to a lighter blue.
-Fading Palm technique- By quickly moving his palm through the air, Rin can create a solid afterimage of lingering chakra. The trail of chakra last for only a moment, but is extremely sturdy and can resist almost any blow. Unfortunately the spread is usually small and thin, allowing precise timing to block taijutsu, and is almost useless against area attacks, such as fire or water. Its area increases depending on the speed of the users arm, allowing a quick user to make larger barriers.
ATS: Rins improved chakra control and speed have elevated this technique to the level of the Hyuuga's divination whirl. Rin now moves so fast that he can defend his entire body with moderate effort. He still uses this technique in hand to hand combat, and now his speed allows him to befuddle and frustrate his enemies by simultaniously disallowing them to strike a hit, and counterattacking with a few of his own.
-Fire Release techniques: As the keepers of fire, the Mokoto clan enjoys the privledge of katon techniques' destructive capabilities. For Rin, these techniques are draining, and used only in special situations.
ATS: Training thuroghly in these techniques has allowed them to become second nature to Rin. Although none of them are nearly as powerful as his taijutsu, they do provide an edge in combat. Due to the rise in Rin's chakra control, these techniques now impose a manigable drain on his chakra.
Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique- Filling his lungs with chakra, Rin is able to expel it in a stream of flames, resulting in a enourmous fireball.
Fire release: Phoenix Immortal Fire Technique- Expelling flaming chakra from his mouth in quick intrivals, Rin is able to shoot small firey missles. These could possibly contain shuriken or kunai trailing wire.
Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique- Rin's best katon technique, the dragon fire technique requres a straight path to travel across. Rin's use of wire sates this need and allows him to discharge a blazing missile of fire in the shape of an enraged dragon. Under normal circumstances this technique is an ender of fights, because of the undefendible possition of the recipient and the sheer volume and heat of the flames.
ATS: Rin has used this technique on one occasion, on an unsuspectedly dangerous mission. And though his own village has yet to see it performed, it has earned him the nickname, "The dragon of konoha," in the water country.
-Body flicker technique- By utilizing his chakra, Rin is able to move short distances faster than they eye can track, supplementing his precision when using taijutsu
ATS: after a year of training, Rin has improved slightly on his flickering. He can now perform it more quickly and more rapidly in succession before getting tired.
-Firewire technique- A devious technique of his own creation, Rin uses ninja wire to surround or entangle his opponent before setting the wire ablaze with chakra, effectively extending the range of the deadly flaming palm technique. Needless to say, spreading so much chakra so wide for an extended period of time leaves Rin's chakra exhaused at best, and is another one of his trumps, if he feels the need to end the battle quickly.
ATS: Rin has done away with this technique in favor of a more focused and less self damaging technique. After one of his missions, Rin returned with a long item bundled in cloth strapped to his back.
:NEW TECHNIQUES:
Rin has taken an interest in sealing techniques. He has only mastered the basics however, and he is now able to use advanced seal cards and basic scrolls. Advanced seal cards can be used to contain information, (Like Kabuto's Nin-info cards) Become an explosive, or even create an indestructable barrier (Techniques such as these reqire that the seal is undamaged). Seal scrolls can be used to carry large items for summoning.
:Equipment: Rin now wears a long, modified scroll case on the back of his belt, allowing for more space to hold his weapons and equiptment. Rin has different cases for different situations, but they always contain at least; shuriken, kunai, kousen, smoke/flash bombs, exploding tags, an empty scroll, and now: advanced seal cards.
:Background: Rin is the firstborn of two children belonging to the now deceased head of the Mokoto clan: The keepers of the flame. His father was a strict and powerful, yet friendly man, and held great power in the community. He and Rin's mother had taught him many techniques and life lessons by the age of 12, and as his first day at the academy loomed near, Rin was a veritable sponge of knowledge, quickly soaking up lessons from his father and mastering techniques taught by his clansmen.
Upon returning from his first day of academy, Rin came upon his silent home, an eerie feeling mounting, he called in vain for his parents. Finally crashing into the living room, he found the tatami soaked in blood, his parents lifeless forms sprawled on the floor. A cackle rang across the room as Rin stumbled back against the wall, the nausiea and fear gripping his mind. He looked up through tear filled eyes to see a man with wide blank white eyes, a manic grin playing across his face as he held a small unconcious figure under one arm. "Your parents put up quite a fight, little one." the man said, grinning all the wider, "Especially your father. A pity your mother had to get in the way." he continued in a coddling voice, "Oh and by the way, I'll be keeping this." He chided, holding up the limp form of Rin's little brother. As the man let out a peel of deranged laughter, Rin's mind snapped and he fell out of conciousness.
Rin, now effectively an orphan, was sent to live with a close relitive, who passed away due to disease, catipulting Rin into a deeper depression. Rin was passed from home to home in the clan untill he was old enough to live on his own, by which time he had grown callus and detatched. He proceeded through school alone, shunning contact with others and keeping to himself. And being a prodigy, he was well admired.
The killer was never found, and his brother became a missing person. His uncle took his father's position in Rin's place because he was not yet old enough, and leads the Mokoto clan to this day. Shortly after the assasination the mokoto clan fell out of power in the village, it's most brilliant leader now dead, allowing other clans such as the Hyuuga rise to power. The identity of the murderer is still desputed. And Rin still can't sleep, the murderer's cackling laughter echoing through his mind and his wide eyed stare coming into focus whenever he closes his eyes.
He vowed that day that he would avenge his family and find his brother, and that determination drives him in everything that he does.
ATS: With the death of the demon triplets, Rin has become more determined, training profusely in the absence of his comrades.
