But FIRST WII TAMPON TAG, Dave. And sending people Wii-mails.

How you can resist it, I don't know. You aren't human, Dave.

BUMP!

Sorry for bumping this up, but I just got my Wii and I have a few questions concerning its capabilities...

1) Is it really true that the WiFi USB adaptar for the DS also works with the Wii?

2) Where do I find my Friend Code?

3) How do I add a Friend Code?

And...that's all for now.

1) Yes.

2) Click the envelope icon in the corner, and there will be three large things in the centerish region. The rightmost should be the "Address Book" or something like that. Click it.
Now, you should be brought to a fairly barren page (since it seems you haven't added anyone either). Press the "-" button, or "flip a page back" (move the pointer to the left, there should be some sort of arrow to progress backwards).
Your Friend Code's right there.

3) Go to the "Address Book" and in the right corner, there should be a button that reads "Register". Click that, then click "Wii". Enter the Friend Code, your nickname for the person, attach a Mii to the addition if you want, and you're done. You can only send messages or memos to the other person once you've both added each other, and after a short wait (assuming the other at least has standby mode on).

Thank you. Now for another question. Even though most of the online stuff aren't ready yet, can you still use the WiFi adaptar to get the games off the Virtual Console? I've been looking forward to that (all I'll be able to do apart from Wii sports what with not having an actual game for it yet)

Yes.

Basically, the WiFi USB adaptor lets the Wii access the internet, so all internet features are enabled.

First priority is the update your firmware, so set up your internet stuff, and keep going to Update until it's fully updated.

Then you can access the Wii Shop Channel, to buy Virtual console games with your Wii points, which you can buy in the form of cards with amounts signed to them.

Firmware? Not sure if the manual mentioned that. Well I don't have the WiFi adapter yet ($40?!) but I recall seeing point cards at Gamestop. How much do classic games run for? And how many are available? (please say Earthbound is there)

There's only a small selection available at this time. 15ish? Earthbound isn't one of them from what I've heard, yet. But it will be there.

And yes. The Wii does get updates for updating it's features and such. Kind of like how the PSP does, as with most other online capable systems.

And SSoM, there's a few ways to do this. If you have a wireless router, you can just use that. But if not, it seems like USB will be your only venue for a while.

Nintendo is coming up with a kit that'll let you use a wired connection, so if you don't mind that, you can just wait til' then.

If I had a wireless router I wouldn't have bumped this topic...much. And I rather not wait until January so the USB Adaptar will have to do.

*sigh* And to think me and my brother intended to combine our allowence to get Twilight Princess. Better luck Christmas then.

Internet's not really at all "necessary" right now.

I'd suggest getting TP now, and asking for the adapter for Christmas. There's no GOOD reason to have online capability with the Wii yet. It's cool, trading Miis and sending messages, but it's not much compared to Zelda.

You know what'd be fun? Playing games I miss. Can't list them as they're probably not on the list yet. I'll let my brother know if we can pool in our cash for Zelda then.

I think consoles are getting just a tad too complicated now a-days. It's a good thing I'm internet savy, it's pushing videogames so goddamned hard.

K, I've added you Grey.

I think everyone needs to have a self-repesentational Mii that's set to travel for the Mii-Parades. I want to throw one on for every Wii address I have, and so far I only have one for Troggles. You can of course find me, "lengeta," already.

Just set me under Mr. Mopps, because that's the closest one I have right now.

I'm fairly sure I have him set on Mingle.

Alright, I'm up to date once again with codes. Anyone looking to attach my signature mii it's the on named "Jason" with the gold shirt. I think I sent him to a few people in a drunken stupor last week anyway.

I've been whispering that word everytime I slide a game disc in and out of the WiiSlot. Seriously. It's such a smooth, sexy mechanism.
