Which no one anywhere would have a reason to do. That I can think of.

Since there's money on the line, pretty much everyone has an incentive to cheat. Of course, framing a guy with one vote would be silly.

It's a $25 gift card, how desperate do you have to be to frame a guy just for that? Or cheat to get something like that?

Re: Literature Contest Voting Thread

Ok, ok, enough speculation/slander about this, the matter has been more or less settled, and is being looked into by the Mod Squad, in any case.

Fair enough, then. Consider the matter dropped.

Heh. Jurisdiction from the secret judges straight to the Mod Squad.

Dude, I've hired thugs to knock off Tuor so I can get back in first place... They just haven't done it yet because they're trying to explain to me something about logic or maths... Whatever the case Sigment, you just don't understand the value of a $25 gift card.

Twenty Five Dollars exactly, right?

All joking aside this thread and the contest has become lively, during the last day no less. It would be a shame if it ended in a tie.

Tuor's picked up two more votes, I think. Pretty sure he's in the lead now, unless Freak's goons get there soon.

The only reason it's becoming lively is because of this controversy over Firebird lol

Nothing like some drama in a Literature Contest.

Maybe it's a good thing? No such thing as bad publicity etc. :P

Too bad it happened on the last day. It may have attracted others. Course there's still a few hours left.

Oh ho ho ho wow... Ya guys are unbelievable lol

Ok... It turns out that Storm is my brother. Usually I know him by ddp380 or even StormNTG (not plain Storm). As for Sky360, no idea, but yeah, I talked it over with him and he told me that he is Storm. Even he don't know who Sky360 is or how its possible that person got the same IP. Guess its true what they say about Snafu - Situation Normal, All Fucked Up.

Never thought my brother would come swing by here at Snafu. Sorry, I don't really pay much attention of what my folks be doing.

That doesn't explain why he was using your computer to do it. Or that three accounts share your IP address.

Re: Literature Contest Voting Thread

Sun Nov 03, 2013 4:24 pm

No. My brother has his own computer. We share internet connection wirelessly and password protected.

Re: Literature Contest Voting Thread

Look. You and those profiles shared the exact same IP address, its how we know when someone is making a alternate account. In basic, a IP address is something unique to every computer that lets it be identified in a network. You and another cannot have the same IP address, or as Veg pointed out, shit would be fucked.

It's not a matter of computer type or name, or internet connection. It's the computer. In fact, I'm confused to why you haven't been banned from the site, or at least kicked out of the contest. Everything is too convenient for it to work right.

I'm going to guess in a while, we're going to hear from "your brother".

Also, if I were you, I'd stop this. For one, it doesn't look good, and two, I just read Tuor's command to cease talking of this. You are welcome to attempt to PM me instead.

Okay after finally finding the time to read through all of the entries I definitely think I will give my vote to Walrus/ Thy_Obsessive_Freak.

There were a few that were tied for second place in my mind but his just seemed like the most satisfying story. It was creepy, had a catch ending that as expected all the creepy stories went for (I guess everyone likes goosebumps, maybe) but it felt like a complete rounded off story, I guess and there were no details that I felt were unnecessary.

I did feel as though the story was maybe set sometime between 1900 and 1950. I don't know if it said anything about the date that I missed at the start but that was the impression I had. I felt I would really like to read more stories about the same detective as he investigated more strange happenings that he can't explain.

Gotta say, Ari, yours felt pretty creepy too. My vote was between you and Asinerta.

We got
Tuor with 5
Freak with 4
and about 2 hours to go.

Wow I had not realised how much conversation this place had picked up in the last day or so. I wanted to expand on what I already said and say that I think I would have voted for Tour's entry as that was probably the closest to second in my mind. I just wish it were maybe longer so that it felt like more of a complete story but mainly because I really did want to know more of what happened.

Everything Walrus said about the value of $25 really made me laugh though.

Yep. Votes won't count past this point. Our first Literature Contest winner is Tuor!

If only Tuor hadn't voted for himself, because that way I would've voted from myself and won!
