Lightstarr's Bad Poetry Dump.

Postby LightStarr » Wed Jan 28, 2009 2:32 pm

I'm basically going to use this thread to dump the crap I scribble in class or at work. I read the rules Cole and I don't really want to create a metric fuck-ton of posts. But if it needs to be changed. Hit me up. It has also been a long time since I slogged through this part of the forum, it is dark and scary. Be gentle critics, be gentle.

2013

Orange and red fade,
blue fills their wake
on New Years Day.

Doomsday never came
the Sun God's calendar; begins anew.

Sounds a bit Haiku-like!

More bad poetry. Older than the first. Most of these were written the night I dislocated my middle finger. I was also drunk. They are all unnamed as well. I'll divide 'em up. Well not all.

Fibreglass love
glides across the water's glassy surface
water laps at her sides.

-------

Miss placed hand leads to a late night trip
suspected broken bones; another adventure had
pain makes things a blur, its unrealistic
only a sprain,
another year of avoided broken bones.

-------

The reality of a good shoe.

comfortable
wide enough to hold
small enough to caress
warm enough to contain love.

--------

White on brown
caring is found within
never a surface trait.

--------

Those that matter most
will always find a way;
a way back to you.

Ker Smash, I came in through the bedroom window.

Today is the day I break a promise
this promise to no one
but myself,
however it is still important.

I step foot within the concrete walls
the scent of over zealous perfume floods my nostrils
my head swims in a sea of ill
I shuffle down the aisles.

Zombies to my left and right
picking at the shelves,
lifeless eyes staring back at me
I try to be as quick as I could.

But there is always something,
slowing you down in that new world hell
I pick what I need
to the checkout I go, quickly.

I purchase what I need
walk out the door,
deep breath...
clean air once again, vowing to try and never return.

-------------

Summer days have been spent;
in their proper way
doing very little,
but how those days stretch into eternity.

No moment wasted on regrets,
when there was adventure to be had
lazy days were not for us.

Lost lists were remade from scratch;
things added to them
never needed,
but always wanted by all.

When there wasn't work to be done,
time stood still and the days past us by
in their lazy fashion.

The serpent's forked tongue
kisses the clouds
and I cry aloud,
"how grand it would be to share a kiss with the sky."

--------

In my room,
I can watch,
In my safe house -- I observe.

Never seen
Safe to judge
To wail like a banshee
When observation becomes interaction.

--------

The Great Dandy,
standing before his crowd
all eyes transfixed upon him
hypnotic speech a snake charmer's song,
the great aesthetic god
has his hold on us.

New Shit.

And the river crashes on the rocks,
there I see her again.
The sudden cloud of water fades
she with it;
My ghost; My shade.
She haunts my sleep.
Hades is her home,
Pluto her lover
and I, and I am haunted.
My lids grow heavy like lead
dragging my soul
down to her world.
The weight is gone
my eyes open and my senses aware
a sea of green greets me
a whisper carried by the wind calls,
"can you hear me, love?"
To the west the great orb is drug below
his sister rises from her burrow in the east
casting all I can see in twilight.
Long shadows from an unseen force
stretch toward me like vines
the first reaches my feet and
her voice calls louder
"can you hear me, love?"
Compelled to move
I start west.
The orb is long gone now
my world is shadow
still I move west.
Toward her: my ghost, my shade.
The sea of green breaks against the forest
there I stopped.
I looked about my surroundings
the way back, lost to the night.
The way forward a labyrinth of wood.
I peer into darkened woods
and my eye catches the glimmer of a light.
My feet stretch and fall forward without a thought
bringing me into the home of imagination.

Holy hell. I'm back. I'm in that zombie film class and we need to do a creative project on zombies. I have chosen poetry. Yup. Zombie poetry. These are all still in their rougher stages. Project isn't due for awhile. These are not all of them. The rest are on looseleaf.

There’s a stellar moonlight
and they’re there again
you can see them gather
up there on the hill.

We wait; they don’t
they shuffle forward with outstretched arms
We raise our guns
they groan -- more come from the trees
We inhale and take aim
they moan
We fire.
----------

Hands that reach -- fingers out
clawing and pulling
dragging things into a maw
hands that feed an endless hunger.

Missing teeth are no concern
long given up on the chew.
over the gums, down the throat
look out stomach; here it comes.
