Well, I've bit the bullet and made a thread of my own. I'll try to update semi-regularly. ^_^

I do Poetry, and I'm working on a Novel.

Added after 1 minutes:

Here's the premise for my Novel, I need a little bit of help and feedback.

Premise: During WWI, the need for breakthroughs became of utmost importance in 1916. TO this end, Kaiser Wilheilm's Germany began research into a "Super Soldier" that would charge the enemy lines without fear of pain or death, shrugging off all but the most horrible wounds. They failed, and all evidence of their folly was erased, or so they thought...

90 Years later...

A fanatical group of Muslim Extremists buys a copy of the German research, which had been buried deep in the Imperial Archives. They attempt to replicate the experiments, and fail as well. Just as a Team of American Military attack the base the extremists are conducting the experiments at.

The fools have created what Imperial Germany first set out to do, with one small hitch- All trace of the subjects' Humanity has been erased, and they think only to kill and destroy.

Outbreak...

The experiments are the result of a mutated set of genes, which is contagious (Bear with me, I need to do more research) Which results in a near-apocalypse.

2020...

Very few areas of the Planet remain "*Name needed*" free, among which are the UK and Ireland, Madagascar, Australia, Hawaii, The Rockies, etc. The "*Name needed*" have an innate fear of Heights and water for some reason.

A large force has been orgainised in Madagascar to go to that cursed complex where the "*name needed*" were first created. Retrieve any documentation and get back to Britain where the Greates Scientific Minds in the World (That are still alive, that is) wait to find a solution.......

Sound good?
I still need a title for the novel, and a name for the monsters. I can't think up anything not laughable right now. lol

sounds like it has potential, only please tell me that was a quick resumé, even though the plot is nice, i beleive you should stuff it with more filling(explanations, more length)...
but you've begun and that's the hardest part of writing

I think Berserkers would be an excellent name for your monsters, can't wait until you get more of it done.

Your thinking about barberians BG07 :P
Berserkers were acient warriors of Odin. Able to transform into bear form at moonlight or some thing like that. Meh, its just a name so berserkers might be better then Barberians ;)

Like what your starting Casmiricus. Might be an interesting story ^_^

Thanks for your suggestions, guys.

BTW Ape, yes, this is just a quick summary of the beginning situation, I still need a title for the book, though.

Yeah, but keep in mind, the "*Name needed*" aren't dead, just mutated horribly...

*Ominous*

Here's an addendum to the above post:

Oil is no longer easy to come by, as the Middle East is actually the origin of the outbreak. Thus, Solar, Tidal, Wind, Hydro, and other renewable energy resources are now in use for nearly everything.

Added after 2 minutes:

ANd now, first poetry piece:

Betrayal

I thought we were friends,
For the rest of our lives,
Ignoring the major trends,
Exchanging those goofy High-Fives,
Biking down to the river,
Egging that teacher's car,
Stealing that archer's quiver,
I think of how we went so far;

You said our friendship was forever,
You liar and fiend!
You thought you were so clever,
You disgusting creature.

For then I felt the pinch,
Of your actions and your words,
Stabbing further, inch by inch,
I only thought "How absurd."

Twist, Twist, Twist,
Plunge the knife deeper;

Your anger spreading like a mist,
Or some Horrid forest creeper,

You Damned soul,
What horrible entity
Took up residence in your body,
And condemned our friendship to brevity?

Twist the Knife! Twist the Knife!
Stab again and again!
Go from me, remove your presence,
You are not my friend.

UPDATE!!!! I've got a Title for the Novel ^_^ :

Our Misieries

Taken from the quote:

"At least two thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity, idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religious or political idols."

OR...

Cultivation of Ignorance

Taken from the quote:

“Stupidity is the deliberate cultivation of ignorance"

As for the name of the Monsters, I still need help.

Would "Brute" Work?

Well, I thinl I'll go with "Cultivation of Ignorance." It sounds more foreboding. lol

As a side note, the name of the project to develop the super-soldier will be termed "Hephaestus," After the Greek God of the Forge. ^_^

Still can't think of a good slang term for the monsters... AAARGH!

Thanks, D_c. I never read that anywhere though, where does it say that?

Moving on, I currently have my World Cultures (Read: World History) Teacher drafted into helping me. He speaks 12 Languages fluently, including English, German, French, Italian, Latin, and Arabic. So yeah, I'll be able to have a lot of realistic turns of phrases and expressions. Hopefully that will help with the immersion.

Right now, I'm doing research on WWI for a likely time and place for the experiment to take place. ^_^

I *Still* need a really good name for the monsters, though.

I know a little about WWI, and I think the Unsterbliche is a good name for the monsters, it means Immortals in german.
