Hahahaha...

That's hilarious.

Especially enjoy: BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN 2: BACKBONE OF DEATH

That was certainly unexpected.

This was the original joke that had nothing to do with brokeback mountain. But I don't think everyone watched MMPR to get it.

You sir, have just won the intarweb!

Albeit, it's not actually that funny, but the very fact that you spoofed MMPR is hilarious.

Wed Feb 15, 2006 6:33 pm

Heh....that's pretty fantastic, anyway...I haven't thought about that show in forever.

Can you believe its still going? (Albeit, in its 4th or 5th incarnation...)

Rita Repulsa was kinda hot....
And Dave totally deserved to die.

Actually it's much more than that-
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (3 seasons)
Power Rangers Zeo
Power Rangers Turbo
Power Rangers in Space
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Power Rangers Time Force
Power Rangers Wild Force
Power Rangers Ninja Storm
Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Power Rangers SPD
and coming 2-20: Power Rangers Mystic Force

G-O, you are a G-O-D

I bet sooner or later, it'll become a hardcore anime.

J-HARDCORE.

Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:42 pm

The MMPR comic would have been hilarious! Obscure references ALWAYS win.

Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:47 pm

Considering all the reincarnations of the Power Rangers there are... I wouldn't really consider it obscure.

Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:51 pm

When the particular reference is 14 years old, I think it is

It's fourteen years old?

Why do I remember watching it when I was four then?

show first aired on Fox Kids on August 28, 1993, and ended on February 10, 1996.

But yeah... it's still pretty obscure, I guess.

It was around in Japan longer than it was here.

Thu Feb 16, 2006 12:44 am

The footage for MMPR series one was taken from Kyoryu Sentai Zyu Ranger which screened in Japan in 1992, and the original Super Sentai show screened in 1975. But Bobs right.

this was a real late gift for a chick cause It's been a busy week.

I had very little time to do this so it looks pretty bad

Nice V-Day card thing.

Also, just nitpicking but on the TW comic, but the first text square has a typo. There's no space between "what" and "began".

Just being annoying, though.

Thu Feb 16, 2006 6:28 am

GOD, G-O all of this stuff is amazing.

I love the comics.

You should update every day of the week.

:P

I think it makes me sad that you know that...

Thu Feb 16, 2006 12:44 pm

You can't just say there was "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" for 3 seasons. It was original, then "Thunder", then "Ninja". When the alien wate people came, I stopped watching. Only so many cast changes a kid as young as I was can take.

Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:41 pm

But it was three seasons of MMPR. They took footage from three different series of Super Sentai, which changes from year to year, but the producers were scared of losing audiences by changing the ranger powers, so they had the Power Rangers get new Zords. But, it became difficult to cut the footage from Zyuranger to make it look like they fighting villains from Dairanger and Kakuranger, so they drew up the story of the Alien Rangers, who were actually the Kakurangers. After that, they decided that the Ranger powers would change, but that it would all follow the same story line, which they made work for three more seasons. But since each series of Super Sentai is unconnected (apart from occasional crossover specials), this proved difficult as well. So, at the end of Power Rangers in Space, the Power Rangers story finished after six seasons. But Power Rangers continued, but each exists in and of it's own right (apart from occaisonal crossover specials)

Much congrats and thanks for the comic, G-O! Keep up the good work! ^_^

Thu Feb 16, 2006 9:09 pm

I would've totally got the Power Rangers comic, but this works too.

Maybe you should have tried to combine the MMPR reference and the Brokeback mountain parody?

I mean... He does have a staff impaling him... in the back.
