I dunno if its smooth cause Im just getting the hang of this. I scan it in 300 dpi and maniputlate it using photoshop. They only thing missing is the greyscale mode like what spike and flux said ( cause im a dummy who cant figure out how to configure my scanner to greyscale mode ) so I desaturated it and then adjusted the levels to preferred shade or whatever watchamacallit. Use burn if you want a certain part to be darker and dodge to make some parts lighter, but only works if the area was shaded before scanned. Dodge and burn baby... dodge and burn... XD
