Oh, let me assure you, it's like pixelated crack.

Boy, if I had the time to fart off doodling sprites all day...

Happopo, Relick, fantastic jobs!

Lemme give you all a little pointer on making zoomed in sprite images...

Since no matter how cool your image program is, you will never get a perfect blown up image, unless you were to harness the mighty powers of zooming in.

The trick, is to zoom in, take a screenshot at the zoomed in scale you want, then paste the screenshot into a separate file in your image program. Cut the zoomed in sprite out of the pasted new file, (or crop it down, or whatever) and you have a perfect zoomed in sprite image.

Meet Frank.

I vote Pandas for the next submission! Why? Because they're cool.

That's one way to do it Flux, but there should be an option in most graphic programs.

Some where in Edit>Pref. there will be an option called "Interpolation." Set that to "Nearest Neighbor"

Now when you scale, it should scale Pixelized style instead of Blurry style.
So I'd like to ask any gamer that cares about this to educate their children about 2D games, and maybe together we can build a bright future for this type of gameplay.

Arrite, here's my REAL submission. Took a bit more time with this one, and it's one of my own characters (one of my favorites!)

Image

The Redneck Zombie! He has bones that come out of his wrists. Why? Not entirely sure...it's my brother's character. He thought that would be cool.

Anyway, I made this sprite from a drawing I made last night that, frankly, is the best sketch of the RN I've ever done. So I kinda got 2 things out of this contest. Nice.

My suggestion for next week (even though I won't be able to participate >.< ): "Summer Vacation Fun." All mediums. Interpret the phrase as you will.

Yeah....that suggestion is TOTALLY what I'm going to be doing anyway.
-It's almost impossible for me to tell you just how cool everything is going to be right now-

Everyone needs awesome people in their lives. Luckily for you, that awesome people is me.

I like that, Kench :D And good job, Relick, the first tries are always the hardest but it's obvious you made the effort, and that's what's important ^___^

Thought I'd come by with a small update to my guy's sheet.

Image

Added more poses with his hair pulled back. I'll be trying to get something more with another character, soon.

I agree!

(I posted, lol)

Added after 6 minutes:

AND HOLY SHIT, that interpolation trick fucked the computer's shit right up, it was like "BICUBIC (BETTER)" and "NEAREST NEIGHBOR (FASTER)"

And i'm like, "Bicubic makes everything look like it was raped by a blurry elephant! Why the fuck is this even an option?"

Nearest neighbor is a PERFECT resizing of ANY image to ANY size... until the pixels themselves are visible. At which point I'm sure there's some reason to the other interpolation modes.

So it's in

IMAGE > PREFFERENCES > GENERAL and about halfway down the page.

Fantastic Deemer, you've won the day, and my HEART <3

I'm very rusty. On the left is some sprite work I started a while ago. On the right is the sprite I made for this.

It's also my first time doing sprites, i guess alot of us are...
Anyway, who would be a better model for my sprite than bell ^_^ from Chapter 2, page 21. Now I know how time consuming sprites are, it took me forever on her (considering me and colouring dont go along together) but im not sure if I did it right though.

Not really. Inuyasha isn't nearly as muscular as my guy, or as tall. Heck, only things that are similar are that They both have thick, white hair and like to wear red. (But those are broad guidelines. Once you get into detail, it's quite obvious they're different.)

Anyway... *boos the others* You all just had to remember your suggestions, didn't you?! x.X Now I'm gonna have to hurry up with more stuff. XP
