yeah I know, but it's not only feeling depressed. art needs extremes. if you feel like just hanging above a depression but really not being happy, you can't really make good art. But feeling happy and good and stuff does allow you to make art again.

this sounds really stupid, I know.

Did you notice the first pic? I think it's a rather happy pic. Then there's the random shit I draw, then there's my graphic art. I have many outlets and it all comes down to 'when I feel like it'. Unless I'm being paid of course. Heehee.

I draw because it makes me happy. That comes first. Then everyone else benefits from it if it inspires them or maybe make them feel something...

Like that one person. One drawing, poster-size, was put up in the gallery for the student art show last year. Last week, I find out that this person I just so happen to have met (that does actual manga) told me that my drawing was the main factor of him deciding to go to the art institute. I showed him my artbook, and he recognized the style. The fact that there was otakus and stuff abouts.

Dude, that is such a good feeling. I never expected to do something like that.

I never understood why people keep on saying stuff about drawing good needs high emotions and stuff. That may be how it is for other people but my artistry comes out aslong as I'm not grumpy and easily angered. I've never drawn BECAUSE I was sad or angry or whatever and emotions never influenced anything. I'd say it was something to do with being a good artist maybe? But I know two guys who are my friends that draw pretty damn good and one of them is almost always indifferent to everything and all his drawings come out fine.

you are young and therefor still very sensitive, you don't need strong emotions yet :P (j/k)

And indifference is actually an emotion too. "I don't care" if different from "it doesn't affect me" although the effect is pretty much the same.

Devi has awesomeriffic art. So awesome, in fact, that I will bow to you.
*bows*

i find the most fun way of drawing things is to draw while day-dreaming. Comes up with some wacky things :P

I agree that you should only do art if it makes you feel good. Otherwise there's no real point.

Art is just a way. It's like the force...it's everywhere. Oh, and scanning is fun once you've mastered the art of scanning your face without getting blinded...or so I've heard

I can't find the other page, and that was just me flipping out about my scanner. Here's something I did after the fact. I have better stuff on my laptop, but I don't feel like burning just at the moment, but here's a little something.

Hmm...interesting choice of colors, but I like it. I can't CG at all, so I'm a bit jealous.

Haven't really decided. I'm figuring going with what they were inspired by. Me and my friends... and that guy I have an annoying little crush on. XD

All our names end in EE. Izzy, Jenny, Jamie/Mr. Spooky Ghost, Katie, Ashley, Bunny.... so I thought that sounded cute so I figured to stick with it until I take the time to elaborate on things.

Yeah, I'm have a drawing with most of us on it. Just need to scan eet.

Added after 8 minutes:

I scan
