What? That's totally not true, not everyone started out copying that's a flat out lie and people should be encouraged *not* to copy. There's a significant difference between looking at something to see how it looks (reference) and drawing the same thing in a completely different position and copying something to reproduce how it looks exactly. Also if you're talking about still life or something, it takes a lot more effort to build a representation of something in 2 dimensions that exists in 3 than putting one thing in 2d to another. If you don't believe me, try it sometime. This has nothing to do with you 2D, I would just like to vehemently counter that opinion.
And guys, don't accuse someone of something unless you get proof. If this was referenced *cough* I would appreciate you cite your references, 2D. Welcome to the forums.
