That last one is really good, Mad!
I like how you drew Godzilla and Hedora, they look awesome!
Personally though, maybe stay away from the blur tool a little bit :P

I have never seen a Godzilla movie but the way you described it sounds very exciting. I also had no idea that Mothra was a girl, that she was an actual month, and that she was a good guy. She has twins that speak for her? That's cool. She's like the hero of her own story, I thought she was just another monster from Godzilla movies. Which one is the "Friend to all children"?

I love Godzilla movies. And yes, most people are surprised when they find out that Mothra is a good girl and she's the guardian of the Earth. Mothra has had a few of her own movies where she's the star. She had one during the showa era that marked her first appearance and she starred in her own trilogy in the 90s.

That would be Gamera:

Kids love him.

@Jesturr:
I didn't use a blur tool for any of this, I did use a luminosity and shade layer for somethings, but no blur tool, it could be the size change because I made the picture smaller before uploading it because it was like 5000 pixels high.

I don't get what about this guy the Japese think says "Friend to all children".

Also the way Godzilla's back glows blue when he is charging his attack. Do you think the scene in the newest How to train your dragon movie could be a homage to that?

Its more of Gamera's actions than how he looks.
Some of the time at least.

Like for example:
In "Gamera: Awakening of Iris" the main evil monster, Iris was absorbing a Japanese girl into its body for power (long story as to why this girl was important enough for Iris to want to eat her) and Gamera was pinned to the wall because Iris had stabbed him through the arm. So to save the girl, Gamera shot a fire ball at his own arm and blew it off. After blasting off his own hand, Gamera takes the other hand and punches into Iris's chest to grab the girl and pulls her out of it, then Gamera takes the burning stump where his hand use to be and punches Iris with it while shielding the girl in his remaining hand from the action.

Also, there's the Gamera song:

As for that thing in the new How to Train Your Dragon. I unfortunately have not seen that yet, but I do plan on seeing it. I own the first movie so if I don't catch it in theaters then I'll get it when it comes out on DVD. But if its what you describe it as being, chances are it might be.

The Kiju movies are all made using guys in costumes right?

Also, you should see the new movie. It was awesome. I really love how they aren't afraid to do something horrible in each movie that you wouldn't usually see like maiming the main character. Shows the creators have guts. And unlike the second kick-ass movie it was worth the wait.

I remember the first book that How to Train your Dragon was loosely based on was read to me in elementary school once wasn't that bad. The books and movies are way different though, but I will have to check out the two How to Train your Dragon movies since people say it's good.

@Ari:

I'll get around too seeing the second movie eventually, don't worry.

And most of the Kaiju movies that have been made are done with suit-mation. A few have also used stop motion, and obviously these days they're making the jump to doing them with CG.

Despite using suits, some of the designs for the monsters are pretty cool. Like another monster that Gamera fought that goes by the name Legion. The image I'm gonna show is just a little model, but the actual suit looks just like it and there were people inside operating it.

Image

I think it might have changed since then, but in the very early days, it was exhausting to work as one of the monsters. You could barely see inside the suit and it was really hot inside. Some people even passed out in the making of the first few Kaiju movies. But I think conditions have changed since then.

@ULTRADJ:

I've never read the books, so I wouldn't know.

Better working conditions for Kaiju. It's good to know PTA got involved. I would love to see Evangelion filmed like a Godzilla movie. The people playing the Kaiju in Pacific Rim must have been payed well. Gosh I hate that movie.

I can see how that would be a suit. It has the stubby legs that all the monsters seem to have. Stll have to wonder what mad man designs these things.

Being in there with multiple people sounds like it's not worth the money.
But it is worth the movie so I guess it pans out.
That suit's three different kinds of awesome!

You know one thing I've wanted to draw for a while now is? That fire thing that Twilight did in that one episode. We also get something cute between her and Spike just because.
Originally, Twilight's right leg was going to be in a different position, but I changed it so you could see her mark and be able to tell it was her.

Twilight evolved into Ponyta! What fire thing are you talking about? I guess I haven't seen that episode.

I'm talking about this scene from this episode:
(Skip to 0:40 if you want to get to the point quicker)

Also, the Ponyta and Rapidash puns have been around since the moment this had happened. For some reason (and understandably why) it seems like everyone's heads went there all at once.

With me and this drawing its basically. Twilight+fire=Something that reminds me of a purple dragon. Like she's trying to help him feel like he belongs more since dragons can breath fire or something like that.

Re: Stuff drawn by a Mutt (Godzilla likes rain)

Been having computer problems lately, so I'm going to upload this while I still can.

Title: Godzilla: The Storm and the Hunter.
Drew some more Godzilla stuff.

I don't draw water and rain often and I wanted to try it out. The basic idea for this is Godzilla was out hunting giant mutated shrimp because an army of Ebirahs would be annoying and the ocean ain't big enough for the both of them... Actually it is, but Godzilla didn't think so.
There's also a human there video tapping it because wouldn't you get Godzilla coming out of the ocean on camera if you could?

Title: Whoop Ass Girls: You should see the other guys

You can because they're all laying right there.

So another drawing of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as teenagers under the Whoop Ass Girls personas. Whoop Ass Girls being the original concept for the characters that I decided to draw some stuff as for fun and because I was curious on what it would be like if I tried it out.

Anyways this new picture of the Utonium Triplets continues my recent obsession with practicing drawing battle scars and damage so it looks like a character just got out of a fight. As always with this stuff, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup all wear their battle scars with pride. Also there dad is symbolically all up in the background and stuff looking all worried for his kids. Teenagers man, teenagers. Those are some rough years.
I think I may have gone a little overboard with this, but I really wanted to practice drawing bruises and scars and whatnot.
A big white X is in the background because even though this is based off of the Whoop Ass Girls concept, I still like the idea of chemical X over a can of whoop ass giving them their powers.

Nice work Mutt. I think this is the best group drawing I have ever seen you do. My only crit would be the legs, Bubbles in particular, look too long. Really great to see some more of this stuff from you, keep it up!

Thanks, I can kind of see what you mean by the legs. They do seem slightly too long, wish I had noticed that when I was drawing it. Oh well. Thanks for the comment though.

For some reason when I look at Professor Utonium here I kinda get the Doctor Black vibe (from anime/manga), or the main guy from the manga/anime Monster.

@ULTRADJ:

You mean Doctor Tenma from Monster? Yeah, I can see it a little, at least the way he looked near the end of the series. I wasn't thinking of that when I drew this, but meh. I've never seen/read the other thing you mentioned though, sorry.

@OrangeBee:

You mean the Gamera monster? Yeah, Iris had some weird design choices going on, but the point of Gamera's enemies is that they're suppose to have strange designs, some of the time at least. And if they're design isn't that weird then their powers have to be, like Barugon's (not to be confused with the Toho monster Baragon) ability to shoot deadly rainbows of death out of its back.

Title: Zoey and her little monster Lina
--
A mother and daughter duo I haven't drawn in a long while.
Here's their first appearance:
http://mad-mutt.deviantart.com/art/What-375392282
Since its been so long since I've drawn them, I wanted to do something simple as a warm up.
Zoey is a single mom whose trying to raise her girl Lina.
Also, Lina's dead beat dad doesn't pay child support and he's a monster. Literally, Lina's dad is a monster.
Zoey's a normal lady though.
