You know, this reminds me of this story that I read a looooong time ago (I think elementary school or something). Basically it was about a girl who suddenly discovers that she is sprouting wings. Naturally she's all excited and stuff because she's expecting to have the beautiful fairy type wings (or at least bird like wings). The day they finally sprout, she's in agonizing pain, and once she is finally relieved of the pain, she looks in the mirror to find that she has sprouted "Bat-like" flesh colored wings. And to make matters worse, she can't even use them to fly.

I never pictured it going down this way in the show, but wow it actually would have made sense if it did happen this way, even if it would have been a bit disturbing to see something like this happen.

Two Headed Worm

I wanted to practice some more with sai so I let my mind wonder to come up with something to draw. And as some of you may know when that happens my head ends up taking me to strange places.

I have said before that I look forward to seeing you update. But having said that, I know before I see it that whatever it is, it is going to look really creepy, really cool or both. With this in mind every time I check your update, imagine what I was thinking when I read "Two-headed worm"? And now I feel this begs to question: Mad-Mutt, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING THROUGH YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU DO THIS SHIT?!!! if you don't mind my asking.

Stuff like that apparently.
I don't know how or why I come up with stuff like this.
I just let my imagination go off on its own and this is what pops out.

I think you should seriously consider the possibility that your head is actually a doorway to a nightmarish alternate reality. That would be my scientific explanation.

I wonder what his depiction of the PPG as a deformed Cerberus, would look like.

That two-headed worm looks really unsettling. Like a cool-creepy kinda thing. The only thing that bothers me is the left hand of the of the subject closest to the viewer. Actually, all the hands kind of bother me. They look kinda flabby, missing a definite palm and wrist. Unless they're meant to be like that.

But overall, good job on the creep factor! But a question has been bugging me: how does she poop? ; w;

The Whoopass Girls: Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup

--
Fun Fact:
The PPG were originally going to be called the Whoopass Girls, but they changed it because they were worried that parents would throw a shit-fit.

Anyways, the reason for this is that I wanted to draw more fanart of these characters, but I've done it so much that its become sort of stuck in my head to draw them in a certain way.
So I decided to use this to give me a bit of a fresh start mentally and try out some new things. I might do some more Whoopass Girls art in the future.

I also drew the girls to look 11-years-old in this and I tried to make them look more like kids this time. I also went with kind of a cartoony look. I want to try to make their looks a bit somewhat like the classic "puff" look, but also more human. It may take some work.

As you can see even though I'm drawing this in the mind set of it being a hybrid of Whoopass Girls and PPG. Like Prof. U is a combo of his old design and the one we all know and I kept the Chemical X thing because I think its more interesting than a can of whoopass.
I don't know for sure where I'm going with this if anywhere, but I might do more.
The outfits the girls are wearing are based off of this old drawing of mine: http://mad-mutt.deviantart.com/art/Powe ... -340999040

So I finally got around to looking at this, sorry I took so long. I have said before but Your character designs are what I like best about your work. Your art style is getting better all the time with all the practice you put in but, to me, you always seemed to have a really good idea of what made a character look good. I find it impressive that even now, you are trying to find a new angle to look at the characters from so your ideas don't get stagnant.

Design wise, I'm not sure what I could add. It follows your usual fashion sense that i always though looked cool. I would say that if you are trying for a newer kind of feel then you could try drawing them in kinds clothes they have never worn before, but that is just a suggestion. I also got that you were trying to aim for a younger looking cast. I don't think you quite hit the target on that point. But that in particular, drawing characters to look younger, without sounding creepy, I think I might be able to help with. I looked into it myself a few times in the past. What I always thought of as rule one for implying a characters age would be the size of the characters head in proportion to their body. It is not actually correct but think of every character as having the same sized head. The difference in height comes from the body so the size of the head in relation to the body does allot on its own. Your characters here have relatively small heads compared to there bodies so without looking at there faces, I would put there ages at mid teens. It is hard to put a definite size on it but if you think of characters height in a measurement of heads, then a child around eleven, should typically be about five heads tall. So the size of there head should fit into there body around five times as a rough guide. Even if that were not true for today's freakishly large children, in comics and anime, these things are always exaggerated.

The face is also important. Going for a rounder or wider looking face tends to imply a younger character but you tend to lean towards this anyway so that is not really a problem.

After those things, I would look at body shape. Tutorials for drawing children are scarce and take some looking around for. There body shape is generally very asexual and I am not describing very well. I can talk more later but right now I need to be somewhere in five minutes. I hope this has been of some use, having only come from me.

Equestria: Paradise is Nowhere

Decided to do some more pony related art again. And once again my head went to strange places while doing it.

We got Sunny in her demon form up their in the top let going all, "Yo bitch I burned up the city, check it."
I tried to make her look as sinister as I could. Her face came out looking a little snakeish so I added in the forked tongue for something a little extra.

We got Spike giving Scootaloo a ride because he's a gentleman... Dragon. He's a gentledragon.
Spike is also turning into a bigger dragon now and Scootaloo is slightly older here too.

We got Twi and Queenie all like fighting it out and stuff in the center.
I messed around with Queenie's design (like the mouth and the jaw line) to make her look more to see if she would look more like a monster.

And we got Fluttershy at the bottom, she's okay, I know her eyes may not look too good there, but healing magic is the bomb in Equestria. The little alicorn figures at the side were drawn using a line tool so they'd look more like they do here.

The ones inside Mad-Mutt's head.
We're really going to need to organize an adventure party at some point to go in there and find away to make sure they stay imprisoned in there. We're not going up the nose passage this time and the mouth passage just made us go somewhere us different... and come out somewhere different. So I elect the ear passage.

But enough being light headed because of the chemo making me tired. Your art really is just becoming magnificent, though I'd play with the lines a bit more. For example, Pinky Pie's smile there looks far too much like a wire on it. But then you don't seem to use lines too often or I just can't see them which in otherwords you're not that bad really, but still.. Pinkies smile.

But do love how grotesque Chrysalis looks and the magic from Twilight's horns, though I think Twilight's wing to her right could've done with more work. But blazes does Spike look bad ass, get him to eat a T-rex, because he's so feckin' bad ass that's the only way to spell how badass is he is.
Anyone want ta take look at my own comic?

http://walrusm3.deviantart.com/

The art's quite modest, but I'm told the story's fun.

The Princes and the Dragon
--
Something kind of interesting I realized a while ago:
Most of the time in western lore, a princess and a dragon are enemies.
Not here though. Here the princess and the dragon are family.
