These aren't bad. Again, I'll give you the same advice I give everyone else. Practice and study your basic anatomy. Drawing yourself is one of the best ways to get started. Draw your friends as well. Then come back and draw your characters and you'll notice the improvement almost immediately.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind. I've actually been taking bits and pieces i like about certain styles and implementing them, but that would work great.

Work on shapes too. Here, lemme link you to a decent tutorial on how to use shapes and the basics to help you deal with different angles and anatomy.

Remember, everything's can be burned down to a shape. Know how that shape looks at different angles, and you'll know how any item with stuff added onto would look as well.

Also use a real sketchbook.
Good paper improves quality.

I'm not so sure about that. But it seems like your drawings are small (that's what it looks like from the size of the pencil lines).
Try drawing a bit bigger, it'll help a bit I suspect. You'll be able to form your shapes a bit better.

Printer paper doesn't hold graphite well.
So you won't be able to make any real darks with it.

Also if you're going to be working with pencils I would get graded pencils.
They will allow you to go as dark as you want.
A decent pack should cost about 20$.

I think Garsna's first point is the best to anyone wanting to draw people. I remember when I started drawing people it confused the hell out of me as to why it wasn't coming our right. Turned out I didn't know what people looked like. Keep at it, and don't get discouraged by hands.

I am doing a lot of practice on the human body (mostly female) on pixel lovely, its great cause it really helps get the body done with all the interesting poses. This was to tell you i won't be posting for a while btw.
