Enough sketching. Time for comics!

The most rare of teeth. That's the title.
And what could be that special kind of teeth, that it is strong and sturdy, than Bear's teeth for mouses or rats as recipient for their incisors?
The answer is quite clear: Dragon's teeth.
I am sure that Spike won't mind.

The story is basically that Spike lost his "dandelion milk" and he placed his tooth under his pillow. So the Tooth Fairy(or would I meant "Tooth Breezie"?), which obviously is Twilight, took his tooth and replaced it with a bit(or a gem, whatever). Then she guarded it in a drawer. Why? I don't really know. So this was the perfect chance for Célestine collect that special and rare tooth and get some respect from her neighbors in her "World Down Below".

EDIT: New page, let's link some videos about the picture:

Cute little comic and I like the back story to it.
Also, I want to see this movie now so bad, it looks so sweet.

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (More of Célestine)

Postby Grivous » Sun Mar 30, 2014 6:35 pm

Coming with more drawings, and still with the character Célestine.
Now that I am doing some learnings about Artistic Drawings from college, Teacher says to keep drawing and practicing with somethings that you like. So lets get started!

=> Célestine drawing
Image
I drew a drawing with Célestine drawing a drawing. Can we call this an irony or even an Inception? lol
Since she's an artist, this fits really well. What is she drawing then? Le Grand Méchant Ours, perhaps?

=> Célestine and her doll
Image
I have to say: Her nose is bugging the hell out of me. I simply didn't liked it at all.
But, still, the scene is cute and peaceful.

=> Célestine and the magical brush
Image
Why not drawing Célestine doing some magical things? Like creating art on thin air?
You can say that she stole the magical brush from Mickey Mouse or even Yen Sid, the Sorcerer, himself (Epic Mickey game series).

=> I Am Cursed
Image
Eeyup. That's the title.
For those who watched the movie, will already guess why such a sad and dark drawing with such innocent character as Célestine. And, for those who didn't, I recommend to watch the movie as well.
If you felt your heart melt from a sorrow sentiment, sorry, but that was my intent.

Keep practicing, more will come.

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (Picnic Time!)

Postby Grivous » Mon Mar 31, 2014 6:24 pm

It's Picnic Time! BAM!

Image

=> Description:
"Task of the day: Draw something with Ernest.
I had done lots of drawings with only Célestine and I thought it was unfair for Ernest being stay aside all the time. After thinking what I should draw with him, it hit me this: A Picnic!
For my surprise, one of the books by Gabrielle Vincent (Ernest et Célestine's book author) is called "Ernest and Celestine: The Picnic", when they took a picnic to enjoy an afternoon.
Then it hit me another idea and it was gorgeous: Ernest and Celestine, having a Picnic time with Fluttershy and Angel.

MUST DRAW IT!

And this turned out. It took me almost 10 hours doing it."

You're pretty awesome with graphite. Not a smudge out of place!

Like the little picnic. It's quite adorable! And the interactions between the characters tells quite a bit of their personality. I like the little easy to over look interaction between Célestine and Angel.

@Ruxan Kikilin and Stooie74: Thanks for the feedback!
I am still on drawings with pencils; I like to use them. But I am still willing to do some drawing on the digital art(since I am now doing college to be a Designer, I must practice more on it). My brothe's tablet have broken and I coudn't do much more digital sketches or even any digital art.

But I am back with more sketches:

Image

Yes, yes, yes and yes.
Because of those badass final episodes, I am going to make a few of it based on them. And, I suppose, you guys will have a hit in your minds of what this sketch was meant to show/feel. And this is the Sketch_01.

Continuing with some sketches.

First, the one with a glorious update:

Image

About what the hell is just happening: Remember when    Tirek had destroyed Twilight's Tree (the Golden Oak, whatever)   ? That is AFTER the    tree was destroyed   . She is now standing on the edge of a hill, with all her    god-alicorn power    emerging inside her, looking at that monster with anger in her eyes and pain in her heart.    All her books, all her diaries, all her work, all her memories    are now burning and in aches.
He must pay for it; with blood.

Later I'll put the rest.

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (Doh-li, the Priestess)

Postby Grivous » Mon Jun 09, 2014 11:22 am

Coming along with another drawing:

Doh-li, the Priestess

Image

It was a very quick drawing, didn't have made a really detailed drawing as the wi-fi in my college sucked and I just had the video in my phone for references. There are tiny things that I would like to change like her ears, horns, mouth and tail; and also her face, I should have tried to make her face more feminine and young but I just need to move along (as I can make more of it in the future and make it better and better).

Doh-li is a priestess from the still-in-production True Tail cartoon. Made by the new studio, Skynamic Studios, with the same crew from Double Rainbow, including Zachary Rich.
You can watch the trailer below:

Later I will put some other things.

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (True Tail)

I must say that I am excited for this show.
Not as "the best thing ever mande" though, just because I wanna know more about it. The whole story about the group, how the characters came together and their own story. There are som much to tell and to guess.
But I also want that people around here to know about this show. So I did an translated version of both videos to Portuguese, the Reveal and the Trailer itself, on my channel.

- Revelação

- Trailer

All copyrights to Skynamic Studios, of course.

Thanks, Mimeme.
I must say thanks to my college as they have an Artistic Drawing course, with lots of tutorials and a good teacher. But I am limited on copying other works with new poses yet. I really must to practice on drawing my own characters instead of others already done. And make my own style; that's hard but looking forward to it.

How are you doing? Is your left hand already healed?

"Thanks for sharing"?

...

Are you implying something?

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (Sketches and Doodles)

Postby Grivous » Fri Jun 20, 2014 1:02 pm

Starting to go back on time, when I was drawing my own short comics and making my own characters.
In this sketch and doodles, I am trying to upgrade the design of my two characters, Jim White and Roberto Pardo. Thankfully for some researches, learnings and some really good books (Scott McCloud's books), I got a taste on making some expressions and poses.
I want to go back on doing short comics with them. Who knows what gonna happen?

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (2015 Calendar)

Postby Grivous » Fri Jul 11, 2014 7:02 am

No comics or sketches coming this time.
Just a homework that I did for college where we needed to do a 2015 Calendar with popular musical instruments from Brazil, only with Illustrator.
It gave me a high score and I decided to post in my DA.

Calendar - 2015

Note: There's an easter egg in one of them.

Re: Grivous' Gallery - (FIFA Fanfest 2014 - Video)

Postby Grivous » Mon Jul 14, 2014 10:34 pm

And so, coming with a new video.
Actually, it is not entirely mine. It's my sister's too; I just edited it.

My sister had watched one of Nicolo Banini's videos about his travels and his "slaps" on his GoPro camera. She liked so much his style that gave her reasons to do the same thing. lol
It got silly at the first, doing slaps on your camera with people and alone, people looking at you and thinking "what the hell is she doing", but, congratulations, it was a good idea after all; an awesome idea.
She asked my help (which costed 70 bucks) to edit the video because she was too much busy with work and wanted finish quickly to show to people on Fanfest (they have a big monitor to show the games and other videos).
The hard part was to make it with Shakira's music, "La la la", with its rhythm and so on. But it became really good, in the end. I am proud of it; totally.

Made it with FinalCut Pro X, MAC.
Recording with a GoPro.

Curiosities:

0:12 - Hey, it's me! At right side with white cap! lol
0:24 - My sister's boss (with the light blue t-shirt) with Renno (from "Ítalo and Renno" band, dark blue t-shirt) close to him.
0:49 - My not-so-twin brother.
2:06 - It's written "Crowded Arena - 35.000", saying that it's their spectators' record; which is not true. My sis said that their real record was 48.000 people but she forgot to make a clip of it. Sad.
2:09 - That is David, an american and one of FIFA's delegates. And right behind him, passing by with with dark blue t-shirt, glasses and sandals, it's his boss; a german. lol
2:17 - It's written "Humorist's. Do not touch it!!".

You can access WeLoveFine site to purchase it. For $25 and shipping taxes.
Mine costed at least $40 (or almost R$85, converting Dollar to Real) including shipping taxes from USA to Brazil; it took a whole month to get here but it was worth.

The Luna one (actually it's Nightmare Moon), which comes with exclusive Celestia and Luna Coins, is selling in pre-order for $28+taxes.
They also have other ponies like Dj Pon-3, Derpy Hooves, Future Twilight and also Trixie.

Does it make me a nerd for me to have noticed "The Hobbit" in his book collection before noticing the pony figurine at the center of the picture.
Also, awesome books dude! But the pony looks cute, I'm not that into my little pony but it looks really well made.

Not at all.
I have other books from Tolkien's collection as Roverandom; Leaf by Niggle; Silmarillion; LoTR; so C.S. Lewins' like Narnia and Cosmic Trilogy; and even Dan Brown's like Inferno and others.
I also have children's books like Black Beauty, The Tale of Despereaux, The Silver Donkey, The Magician's Elephant; they are lovely as well.

If it makes you be a nerd for noticing, then it makes me be more nerd than you for having all of this. lol
