Sounds good. But... "gauge his reaction to a few things"? What does this mean exactly?

My colleagues were concerned about how most of the applicants would react to the news of having to work under me, since:

1) they have years (in the industry) ahead of me , and
2) how they would take to working under a woman.

So far they said it is fine, and I really hope they are sincere about it. The other reaction was about chasing the deadline, and if they can handle that kind of stress.

Is... working under a woman a cause for negative reaction over there? *forgot where "over there" is* @_@

Because that just sounds silly to me.

You're right - it shouldn't be an issue. But you'll never know; some folks may feel a certain entitlement, even on a sub-conscious level.

Well, I do know a close friend of mine who works under (and above) a bunch of folk from the middle-east who have very strong beliefs about that. Believing women are below men and such. Good thing she doesn't take that sort of thing and gets her work done, unlike those slackers. So she doesn't have anything to worry about. She puts them in their place :3

Good for your friend!

I have worked with Middle Easterners before, and thankfully they are all pleasant and very professional. Strangely, the biggest resistance I've dealt with so far are from the locals (where I am from).

Thankfully, they are a minority.

Well that's good.

So, how is the new guy holding up?

Ouch. It's been over a month now too. Hope he's doing well while waiting. Does this sort of thing happen a lot?

Hey mim.
Hope you get your assistant soon.
And how is everything going learning to use your other hand?

@Sefrol
If you mean by the long wait, It depends. All I can say is that my employers are very particular when it comes to employing talents. I sure hope the dude is still available too.

@Morpheus
Thanks, man :) so far, here is my latest progress. Funny that my stronger hand could not do delicate work :b will do my best to keep going at it!

How are you doing?

Those look great Mim.
You'll be back to normal in no time.
As for me I've been kinda slacking in my practice.
But I'm starting to get back into drawing daily.

@ Mime: I kind of run into that weird problem too. My right hand is what I'll usually use for writing and drawing and such, but for most everything else, it's never as good as my left hand which can in-fact write neater (be it slower) and do delicate work I don't trust my right to do right the first time.

It's cool seeing that your other hand is improving, and like Morph said it'll be like normal soon enough :3
