Hi guys!

Here bits and pieces of my stuffs. Some finished, some doodles, and some... questionables. While a few are official works, the rest are pretty much scratches done during my free time. You may recognize a few them somewhere in DA (yes, I am very much the same person).

First up:
Image
This was done for a friend's art magazine in 2010, four pages in total. Took me quite a while to finish them up - I actually killed my desktop pc's graphics card and had to work on my laptop (which could not really handle the size of the files - A4 size, 400dpi). Drawn and coloured in Paint Tool Sai, edited in Photoshop.

Something Wicked This Way Comes:

Posted exclusively here, until I have a thick enough skin to show what a closet fanfiction writer I am to my friends and family. Pretty much a goof around and doodle for a fanfic my friend and I were writing (nope, not out yet and it is on hold). I don't think I'll ever get around to turn them into full comic pages, although I do really wish I have that much free time to actually sit and work on it. Sorry folks.

More to come...

Thanks RuffDraft! (:

Rough sketches of OCs from personal IZ fanfic:
Image
Drawn and coloured in Paint Tool Sai, edited in Photoshop. Majara rightfully belongs to my friend BlackGargie, whom I had the pleasure of redesigning (with permission!)... Sol, Pila and the twins are mine. They are posted exclusively here.

BlackGargie's original character concept of Majara:

Warm Ups:

A rough doodle done in ToonBoom Storyboard. These girls frequent the panels whenever I take a short break from work.

The most impressive thing about this art is the comic layout/setup- the angles your getting are absolutely perfect. Really nice stuff!

Thanks, Mosama (: they were pretty challenging, but I'm glad they worked out okay.

Maybe you should take over that Zim comic.

And I like Baby Blue. :3

I second that motion.

While it sounds like a fun idea, I don't think I can match up to their style D: Japanese/Manga-style drawings are surprisingly difficult for me to emulate. Wasn't the comic declared officially defunct?

The closest I can get to manga-style:

Doodled in ToonBoom Storyboard. There are tons of things wrong with this picture... they know it.

Wow Mimeme, you're so good at drawing people.

xD I need to figure out how to make my people look less stiff when I draw them and look more natural like your drawings.

That or I need to find a more simple and comfortable stye instead of trying to draw 'anime like' like I've done for 8 or 9 years. I'm just so obsessive compulsive over how everything needs to be perfect when I draw like that that I can never be happy with what I draw anymore. Argh I am my harshest critic.

@PinkIceFox
Thanks!

What helps when you're trying to draw people is to look for their line of motion. Look at a person, and then instead of looking at every detail, pay more attention to the silhouette. Simplify the figure with shapes, and find the lines that keep them together, especially the spine. I think there are tons of tutorials out there that can help you with it.

Being your own harshest critic is fine. It's one of the main driving force to help get you better at things (: And yes, don't be too scared to experiment with styles. It does wonders and it does help to identify yourself. Even up until today, I am still trying to find out what my definitive style is.

Good luck!

Another IZ manga-style test:

Another quick doodle on ToonBoom Storyboard. Proof that I'm a manga blasphemy. I promise I'm stopping right now, Gaz.

Only because the original author and Bleedman both backed out of it. And you've been interested in doing a webcomic... Who's to say that it has to be in anime style?

Every artist has their own style.
I see nothing wrong with bringing in yours.

@Alopunk
Thanks :) I'll do my best!

@Mathias and Morpheus
True, I've been interested in doing some webcomics. Hopefully when I do find myself somewhat free, I might be looking for a good writer and colourist :b I just hope that it will be in the very near future.

More dumps!

Done in Paint Tool SAI. Sol is an OC of mine from a personal Invader Zim fanfiction, co-written with BlackGargie. Yes, I'm a heavy fan of that show. RIP, Zim.
