Five Years Later - The Art of Grass Gremlin

Postby Freedom-Frequency » Thu Aug 21, 2008 11:45 am

Greetings, everyone. How long has it been sense I've been back to this old place. Quite a bit, actually. Sense that time, I've changed so much. I bought a laptop and I've been drawing digitally. Where has the time been? I made so many promises I never keep and now my latest update has been nearly five years later.

So, for you all, as was promised it's time to make this old thread active again.

Edit: To save space I'll be deleting the text to my old images because it is irrelevant but, for nostalgia reasons the images will stay.

Question! When will you be posting your art, and do you expect to post frequently, or by a schedule, or something?

Type normally and i'll supress the needs of starting flinging floritures of spades everywhere in spite of someone telling me what to do and what not. Also, this is a forum thread, not forum. The forum holds all of these little threads.

Second, where is the art? What was the purpose of making the thread if there's no art posted at first? These little nitpicks must be had in mind before starting a thread in the art forum, take a little time to read the rules and go inside other people's threads to see how they started.

Third, let's see how you do, post some art.

Featured now are some very stupid thumbnails for this drawing. *Shudders*
The one with his mouth open is uber dumb, but they serve to show how innocent he looks when he isn't killing anything.

I used to hate the fact this drawing was so popular on my old DA account.
But anyways this was simple.
I saw chowder on T.V.
So I drew Panini.
Will you see more Chowder art from me?
Thats a big fat maybe. . . .

That greatly depends. As of the moment I have been working on a story of my own along with someone elsese project, but I can take simpler projects. The other project I been working on with someone else doesn't greatly utilize my skills, and I'm stuck drawing in a much much simpler style. I'd love to work on it if I could see what it would be about and the direction you're taking. I'm very picky about the writers I work for. If you lack devotion and your story isn't interesting enough, I won't work on it. But go ahead and picth me what you have and we can talk.

Send me an E-mail. Look for my yahoo address.

Generally, I'm a light sketcher and I tend to turn up the brightness on my sketches. I also have a sense of urgency with my drawing and never like to take too much time on them. I'm kinda working on that, because it keeps my sketches from looking a little more detailed, even if I'm drawing them in a simpler style.

Colored and uncolored varients on the same drawing. The coloring was done by a good firend of mines, though I think they may be a bit to busy to be my colorist full-time. By the way I told her to color the way she wanted, mainly to test her skills so I knew if I had the right person for the job. Note that the color for the character riding the dragon is not official.
Mainly because the character is (or appears to be) human which means he's supposed to be colored like one.

It's for a concept of a story I may work on in the future, about legendary dragons called, Qwell Dragons. They were a special kind of dragon that takes on a human form. The lead character is one of those, but he doesn't have full control of his ability to conceal himself among humans. He may accidently keep his tail, among other known accidents. A cool idea is that these characters turning into dragons and battling agianst enemies and other dragons. Their are degrees to the transformation. The full dragon form is 100%, while just having your dragonic claws would be sorta 10% or less.
They still retain their personalities even when they transform. Their dragons who pose as humans so they are not half-breeds and they tend to retain their carnal instincts even in human form. Quell Dragons have never been known to eat living things unless they choose too and they are known for being myschievous and causing trouble. They are like saiyins, as in they love to fight.

More of an anthro than a full-on human transformation, no? xD
I dig the Dragon Transformation to a very high degree.
