PROTIP: Study the curve of the spine.
When the subject is slim (as in, not overly muscular or fat), the shape of the spine is pretty much exposed.

True, I know about that, yet everytime I think about it I don't see how to introduce that curves with the poses I draw. Anyway, thanks for the tip^^

Well, it depends on how you're constructing your figures.

Though its very nice to see you putting in some good ol fashioned practice.

Thank ya^^

Well, the problem is that usually I can't get myself to draw more than those practice sketch. When I have an idea or inspiration, I try to draw a complete image but... I fail at doing so. When I don't really have a clear idea, I draw those practice sketches but... I don't know what to do with them after that <<

Bah. Anyway.

Dont worry too much, sometimes I'll do a doodle or a sketch and I wont do anything with it for months. You might want to make copies of your figures and use them to practice clothing and what not.

Yep, fact is, I usually still need another image (or the cloth itself) to do anything good, since I still can't do that from memory (does this make any sense in English? <<)

And again, I'm leaving in... *Counts on finger with shame*

Uh... One... Two... Two days :(

But eh, this time I'll go see some of Alaska's great landscape!^^ Perhaps even whales or icebergs! :3

Three other pics today!

Image

Kitty! Not really new, but I noticed that I didn't post it on Snafu. One of the only image I'm not ashamed of posting (not that I find it perfect <<). Bah, I should draw animals more often.

Image

At first another failed attempt to try drawing something for Nabichan, it came out better than any other sketches I had done, so I decided to develop it a bit (with clothes and all). Even if it's going to be in days, weeks or months, I said I would draw something for her birthday, and I will (and I shall remember! xD). Same for ya, MrHoboX :p

Image

Something completely different now, a little sketch of Bloodseeker (a hero in DotA). He is a pain to draw, but I'm pretty happy with what I have right now, I might improve it later.

Back from Alaska... Damn, it was so... Words can't describe it. I feel like I just spent two weeks mesmerized by the scenery, just to come back here and wonder "wait, what happened?"

My parents offered me this trip as my 18th birthday gift and it was just marvelous. I mean, who wouldn't love taking a cruise to Alaska, enjoying the glaciers and... well, just the sea and the landscape would be enough a reason! <<

Bah, anyway. I had been cut from the world for about two weeks, and it did me great (erm, does that mean anything in English?). Hadn't been praticing a lot on drawings, though, but I don't regret it. I didn't know that one could pass so much time just gazing at the sea, the sky, or anything else, for about everything was beautiful there.

Another thing I didn't realize soon enough was that spending so much time outside in Alaska makes me ill. Caught cold, kind of stupid, but eh. Didn't regret anything, although my throat aches like it's in fire.

Still, I did some drawings, mainly in planes/airport while getting bored to death. Paris - Seattle is about 10 hours long, and Anchorage - Seattle is about 3 hours long. It took me two days to return from Anchorage to Paris, as I spent an entire day in the airport while waiting for the second flight.

I finished the image... Bah, not really, but let's say it's not a sketch anymore. Bloodseeker reworked, for MrHoboX^^ (I wouldn't have finished it if he didn't ask, but now I'm pretty happy with it).

Image

Oh, and throat burns like fire? That's how I imagined that ache.

Working on the Cards thing right now...

He look quite good, Im happy you finished it too. As for your throat, try some lemon tea sweetened with honey. Its quite good.

Glad you had a great time in Alaska! And welcome back!

Thanks guys^^

Working on the Card thinguies, I'm doing the Diamond/Face cards for the moment. At first I thought about Spade and Heart, but... I almost never seen Club and Diamond...

... Wait, that just sounded very weird. Never mind.

Jack of Diamond (only faces for the moment)

nice. They look great! I think the king's forehead might be bulge out a little bit since it looks like he's got a bruise on his head or something. Also the necks seem weird. I tihnk it's because you made them come out the wrong way in the front. It should come back then go out since it blends in with the jaw.

Anyway keep up the works

@DarkCrystal: On the king's forehead, it's supposed to be a diamond tatoo (without the colors it's pretty hard to imagine that). Considering the necks... Well, that's strange... Usually, when people mention something I find it right away but... I don't really get what's wrong with the necks. Do you mean that they should follow a slight "U-curve"? Or that they don't "start" at the right place? Anyway, thanks for the comment and for the tip^^

@Leddkire: Thanks, I also have a preference for the Jack... Erm... Nah, I like the Queen too... Only the King is kind of bleh (drawing in a plane at 3 a.m. is not helping much xD).

Bah, was kind of bored, doodled a bit. Then, a bit become somewhat about one hour or more. Tried a different type of coloring method and... Well, I feel that's it's better than my previous one (although the pic is still a doodle, after all). Look at teh Mad One!11

Image

Can anyone guess what's written?

the neck should have a U curve to it.

@Dark: Thanks for the tip, then^^ I'll try to change that.

@HoboX: Nop, not at all :p

Working on the cards now, starting by the Queen of Diamond. Doing the hair for the moment, trying to get some good coloring this time.

Image

Time passed: 1h30 approximatly
Done: 15% of the hair :'(

Awwwww damn, I'm don't have enough patience <<
But now I think I got the thing, the rest of the hair should go faster. Should go faster... should *sigh*
I already changed the colors two or three times, sometimes I just can't get what I want -_-

The nature of art is try and fail over and over and over again. Then sometimes you get stuff you are happy with. Right now I think this is looking pretty good.

True, failing over and over and over and over and so forth and so on.

But yea, I'm pretty happy too with how my drawing is actually going.

Total time spent for the moment, a bit more than four hours

Image

Right now I'm trying to find pics to figure out how to shade the skin from this angle... <<

I finally finished it. Finally.

Now, you can tell that the end (montage into a card) had been rushed... I just had no idea what to do to make it look better, and was tired of it. Sometimes you just have to finish it, otherwise it will be like you didn't do it. Since I'm leaving veeery soon and I might be very busy, I didn't want to take the risk of missing another contest. Time consumed by this picture? Seven or so hours. Not a great deal when I think about it, but eh...

Here is the 'small' version to avoid stretching the screen (damn photobucket maintenance >.< )

Image

I guess it will be my last drawing this year. Time's running short :(
