I need help! Um, my birthday is coming up soon, so, as a result, I have to let my parents know what I want. I have photoshop 7, and, since they refuse to buy me videogames, I really want a tablet. Or an airbrush, but I'm not sure which yet. Anyway, can anyone recommend a great tablet at a good price? Or, even better yet, what do you use, if you use one? I really want to get feedback from people who use them regularly and can tell me the good and bad things about it...

When you say "learning curve" you mean in drawing terms or, actually navigating with it?

Both. Navigation is easier, but it still takes some learning to get fast at it. It's not like a mouse where you can just pick it up and continue dragging... the screen is mapped onto the 4*6 input box and you have to know where to put the pen to get the corresponding point on the screen.

Not Wasted Talent. Some of the more 'effortful' comics, yeah. Like this and this I did completely with the tablet, but this and this were done with ink. Visually, there really isn't much of a difference, and the pros and cons are kind of balanced. It really just depends on my mood. I happen to *like* inking on my couch more than sitting at my computer.

Hm. Then I say you have the settings wrong. 0_o 'cause mine is a four year old $67 scanner and it picks up everything I've ever drawn just fine.

well i scann it and it automaticly starts printing. in the book it says it should show it on the screen first but it doesent.

Have you tried to import a scanned image via photoshop or anothe rimage program?

File -> Import -> Your scanner and a window should popup that is like how it pops up when you normally scan something except when it scans it'll come up on photoshop as a file?

I dunno how to explain it.

some multifunction units can do weird things, I use a brother that I got cheaper than buying new ink for my old lexmark (ugg)

I'd like to ditto those two statements.

I'd also like to ask a really stupid question.

I was working in Photoshop (8.0 Cs, don't know if it matters...) and someone IMed me. So I went to reply, and for whatever the reason, the IM window was the topmost window open, and yet, I was still working in PS. So I neglected to click the IM window before typing.

Long story short, I removed the scroll bars on the side and bottom of Photoshop by pressing something or a series of something and I have NO idea what I did or how to fix it.

Nevermind. I figured it out.

Still dont know what I did, and I dont know how I fixed it, but whatever. I will NEVER pretend to understand Photoshop.
