Hi ^_^ I'm glad you like it here, haha. It's a lot of fun!

Anyway, as part of the off topic banter that should be going on in this thread...anyone else read Time? They got rid of the political cartoons >.< At least, I think they did XD I couldn't find them...

Hello, art forum residents.
I'm hoping to kick my lazy ass into creating a gallery / thread, but before I do, I have a question.

The "extreme violence / gore" rule.
Would I have to NSFW works like these, that show no wounds, but still have a lot of blood and the implication of insanity?

I'd like to create my own character, does anyone have a guide or some guidelines for that? Thanks in advance :)

Use your imagination?

It's really not that difficult to make an original character, kid.

Well, I find it's hard to make it original. Designing clothes, personality and all that stuff. I don't want it to be cliché, but it feels like all cool stuff has been done already :P And I don't want to copy

Acktoo is right, making your own original characters isn't really that hard. For me, mine was really quite easy to make, but hard to make a better idea though.

hmm... I suggest you think and use design that come up in your head or around you. Anything will work and what sets a character apart is basically what's on him/her.

Pretty easy to come up with things if you have a lot of inspiration.

What I do, is just make any kind of character you can think of. He doesn't have to be that original, but as you go on with your character, develop him slowly. Don't rush. Creating a good character takes time.

Since this thread isn't really within the rules, I'm going to merge this with the welcome thread, and the discussion can continue there ^_^

As far as original character go, just do your best to make a character you're happy with. People will always find things to compare them to.

Also, what alot of artists do, is they make the characters personality in relation to their own.

Hey guys! I've returned from a long absence, and checked up on the rules, just in case anything changed, to find that shounen-ai/shoujo-ai pics cannot be posted as an image, and only as a link. What does that include? Is it only sex images (which I'd greatly understand), or does that include hugging or kissing as well?

I had been playing and drawing a gay character for a while now, and wanted to post up some pics. Only one involves kissing (which I was gonna file under NSFW anyway, since its kinda intense XD), and a few others involve hugging or cuddling (and really only my character's doing the cuddling, as the guy he likes is straight XD). I don't want to break any rules on my first day back, so I just want to get things clarified. ^__^

Hi Relick! Glad to see you're back :)

As far as the rule goes, I think that cuddling and hugs are fine. Kissing...better put it in a link. Better safe than sorry, no?

But yeah, welcome back!
