Might need revisions, let me know what you think. Maybe tone down the power or just change it completely?
Name: Vincent Velmonte (V.V.)
Quote: "It's really quite a pretty view, minus the bodies that is."
Background: Before the calamity, he seemed the typical first-year college recluse, keeping to his studies and the occasional browsing of forums. Not really in tune with anyone else he generally kept to himself and didn't care for going out much. One day though, an average day really, he was sleeping in his dorm. He heard a hushed hushed voice, telling him that he was chosen, for a new universe. A pivotal role in the new order. Trying to understand this rushed in his mind, and then, he woke. He was confused, but more so intrigued by the red hue emanating into his room. He looked out his window but all he saw was the side of the adjacent building. He shrugged off the voice as a dream and the light as a broken bulb. Just as any normal day, he got up and left for class. When he left, he walked casually through the sheltered halls of his apartment complex til he found his way outside. Set out before him was the new world, dead and utterly destroyed. He navigated around the campus, looking for anyone who might still be alive, waiting for something to happen. With no luck, he went back to his room and closed the window blind. He sat in blissful darkness only to be soon greeted by a voice, but it was peculiar and new, different from the one in his dream and it seemed... excited, and utterly insane. It said it gave him a power he had yet to find. That there were great things to happen. "It's time", the voice finally squealed in anticipation. Vincent felt a searing pain in his head and fell to the floor. In truth, Vincent was just a pawn, in a much larger game, ready to be sacrificed. The true player was creating its army, and Vincent was just a lucky contestant...
The door opens, and he walks out of his room. A devilish grin on his face. The game had begun. Now the madness will follow.
Personality: Calm and collective. At least that's what he would tell you. In truth, he's psychotic and practically deranged. His mind is torn from his own thoughts and the maddening product of a mind the new world had created. He cares somewhat for others, and feels it a waste to have the remnants of humanity be eliminated. In his maddened state, he may become highly volatile in his care for this thought and, when pushed out of control, may attack anyone for the pure fun of the slaughter. His maddened view is pure chaos and destruction, as opposed to conservation fueled ideals seen by his true self.
Generally quiet and realistic, until he snaps. In which case he becomes sarcastic and brimming with devilish delight, ready to start the merrymaking. [Warning, avoid dark rooms if at all possible]
Sane vision - City-State Equilibrium. All nations are separate and may stay in isolation or have open trade. If war occurs between two nations, the attacking nation is attacked by other nations to keep balance of power. A nation may operate however it deems fit unless it is a clear violation of another nation's interests (ex. Killing traders of other nations while they are within borders).
"Mad" vision - Anarchy and pure destruction, with a little extra pleasure.
Power: The Shroud's Gift - Vincent is gifted a cloak and katana, both radiating with darkness. Both are linked to him and may disappear and reappear on whim.
The katana cuts as any normal blade, but when it makes contact with an opponent it brings emotions of weakness, despair, and inferiority to the target. It can also release a wave of dark energy from a slash of the blade as a "heat"(energy, or however it is categorized) based attack.
The cloak allows him to travel between shadows and darkness as well as manipulate shadows for tactical use and intimidation. When in complete darkness, he is invisible until his attack. The cloak only protects him from mild amounts of base elements (lightning, fire, and ice). Both the katana and cloak are connected to Vincent and disperse after being ripped off of his person and upon death.
The longer he exerts his powers and keeps his sword and cloak animated, the more he is weakened. Additionally, the more his powers are used, the more likely it is that his madness will interrupt and take over.
Appearance: Standing around 5"10 with a slimmer than average build and being mildly handsome. He has black hair long enough for his bangs to be barely swept over his right eye. He has a light shadow for a beard and, since the calamity, glowing midnight blue eyes. When in his "mad" state, his eyes turn pure black with accents of an unknowledgeable symmetrical symbol in white. He appears wearing a dark blue button-down shirt with a black vest and black slacks when first being introduced, he ever so loves to keep classy. An emotionless face or a whimsical smirk are generally how he greets others.
