It just means that we are pretty ballin' at this.

You guys are handling it well, and I'm happy with the progress made so far.

Post is up. Really losing track of how Valas can fuck with Isadors head some more, but this seems like a good option. Maybe a horrific realization of all his memories, the rights and wrongs, and a realigning of his morale compass?
Mon Jul 15, 2013 2:42 am
Well, I'm nervous as hell. This really is my first RP ever.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 6:15 am
Doing a fine job mate!
Mon Jul 15, 2013 9:56 am
Hmm. Yes Sig. You are doing a good job so far.
I gave noticed a few people have failed to post thus far. Two being MadDoc and MQuinny. I haven't seen MQuinny for a while and MadDoc is procrastinating.

Speaking of, I'll try to have a post up later today Zel. Kinda took too long pondering my best options for countering... Did have the idea of trying to cut off Marcus' fingers using Marcus' own momentum in his swing. But I thought something else could be more fun~

Relatively speaking I am new too, Sig. You are doing fine, and this is a pretty quality RP so far. I believe this is only like my second RP with PvP.

No rush at all, good friend. I doubt the axe would cut through the strong plates overlapping Marcus' fingers but it'd probably numb it pretty good. Still. Your best bet is probably to sidestep and then retaliate with a direct attack as the second swing goes by.
That or just stop the side-swipe with your weapon in a display of raw power.
That's my personal favorite option. I get the impression this is two goliaths, so floor shaking blows are the most likely thing to happen.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:58 pm
Fingers usually have less armor to produce less weight, so it would've offered more damage than most other locations. But that'd be too obvious.
As you said, another way is to stop the blow. Just not in how you described. That should be enough of a hint.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 4:59 pm
Oh so you're just gonna reach out and stop this thing with your bare hand and stop this thing. Because that wouldn't crush bones at all,
Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:15 pm
Nope. You know better than that, old boy.
Though it should be noted: Your man is a human. Mine is a Qunari. They aren't exactly equal in physical abilities.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:50 pm
Forgive me in thinking 40 years of endless toil over the forge would give him a good fight.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:04 pm
Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:07 pm
Ro's got a point. Even with physical toil and training, I find it hard to believe that he could match a Qunari in terms of physical strength. Now, tactics, on the other hand...
Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:18 pm
Ah but Marcus happens to have the spirit of a Fire Golem at his behest, which adds speed and power to his already impressive capabilities. I would say, going 100% at each other, the two are about even, just maybe giving the Qunari an advantage.
Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:36 pm
Beyond the Veil could help if he turned it back on, yeah. But then I'd turn it to a fight of attrition. The power drains a Spirit Warrior's stamina and his body won't be able to handle the boost for long. Then he'll be worse off than before activating it.
Like Sig said, he'll need tactics to win.
Tue Jul 16, 2013 1:13 am
Even if it does tax him, Marcus has the stamina of some of the greatest dwarven smiths, so it's likely he could keep it on for a very long period of time before truly weakening, but this IS against a Qunari of obvious strength.
Tactics will win but I feel Marcus is like those weapons of his. Blunt. Weapons a certain someone should have stayed away from.
