Name: Alassë Tîwele (Alas for short)
Race: wood Elf
Build: Alas appears to be a rather wryly, young, short elf, standing just over 4 ft tall. This would make her stick out rather like the runt in a litter of pups. Though she is short, she seems feisty, as if she has an attitude to match any size. She has a slightly scrawny build (obviously not made to be a meat shield). Her size and build would suggest that she is much more dexterous than strong, making her nimble on her feet and possibly sleight of hand.
Her hair is long, dirty blonde and twisted line the vines of a tree. It hangs like a veil of leaves over her forehead, which is why you always see her trying to blow it away from her eyes with a scowl. Her skin is pale, but shows the signs of a laborious life, yet her cheeks still have their sweet rosy hue. Her eyes glow a sly yellow, as if you were staring into the irises of a cunning feline. Her pointy Elvin ears are hidden beneath her jungle of hair and hood. This elf, although somewhat devious, has a cute look about her...perhaps too cute.
Gear that you can see: Alas wears a mossy, grey hooded cloak and leather jerkin beneath it. Beneath that she wears a black, long sleeved, shirt and upon her hands a pair of rather bulky looking, but comfortable, dark brown gloves. She also wears tattered grey breeches and weathered, tight fitting boots. Strapped safely to her back is a fine long bow made of dark wood (roughly her size), a quiver of arrows and a worn sling backpack. Strapped to her belt (that one could barely see) is one elongated, sheaved dagger.

Personality: Alassë’s personality is twisted due to her way of life. One minute she can be as ferocious as a lion and the next as innocent as a kitten. It all depends on the circumstances. She’s a trickster and generally behaves like a nuisance when bored. She has lived a rough and tough life so far, having to lie, cheat, steal and sweet talk all the way. Don’t get me wrong, she has a soft side, it’s just that the universe spat on her existence which toughened her up. Getting her to trust you is important if you things to go swimmingly. She’d think twice about backstabbing someone who showed her true acceptance. When you live in the stinky groin of society, friends who stick by you are hard to come by. Behind those brave eyes, is just a lost soul.
History: A child of Athel Loren:
Trees burnt violently as flames twisted and slithered up the mighty trunks, releasing black fumes into the blue sky above. Golden helmed Asrai lay motionless upon the blackening roots and grass. In the centre of the clearing stood an unnatural metallic cage, barbed with spikes darkened with dry blood. Within it, huddled together, were the spoils of war. Pale and weathered, the wood elves sat weeping quietly. The cage door slammed shut, the monstrous “clang” rang through the trees. A hulking brute of a man bolted the door and signalled his companions to gather up any valuables. He laughed manically as his bandits picked the corpses clean like vultures.
One of the weeping children, her yellow eyes dripping globules of gold, shivered violently as the cage began to shudder as the wheels started to move. She watched as they left her fallen kinband and the towering trees of the Forests of Loren behind them. The Bandits made haste, selling their newly captured slaves till they came to the outskirts of Nuln, The Jewel of The Empire. Only three slaves were left, including the very young golden eyed Alas. The slavers camped for the night, not far from the Kreuzungstadt Crossings. The tired bandits dropped then muskets and crude blades, opened a barrel of fine Dwarven Mead and began to drink themselves into a drunken stupor. They were all soon dozing around a dim campfire. Alas and the other two children, a boy and a girl, noticed that the cage door had been left unbolted. If there was ever a chance to escape now, they had to take it! Alas nimbly and cautiously lifted the cage door and slid out, onto the soft grass (This was the first time she’d felt the loving green embrace of nature in months). She beckoned for the others to follow and the three of them began to creep away towards the Mighty walls of Nuln. As they crept, the boy, angered that the bandits slew his father, made a dash for the sack that held all the loot. He ripped into it and began to fill his rags with as many coins as he could carry. Alas and the other girl watched in dismay as the the coins and trinkets spilled onto the ground.
One of the bandits, a musket nestled under his arm, woke up as a goblet clanged upon the falling gold. He shook his head is confusion, then he realized what was happening. He loudly blurted out, "WE RATS ARE OUTA DAH CAGE!" as he aimed his shaking gun at the boy. The two girls fled for their lives as the shot was fired. The bullet hit the boy in the head, ripping it apart with sheer exploding force. Coins, blood and skull fragments lay scattered in the grass. Soon the whole camp was ablaze with fury and confusion. Search parties were sent out to locate the the girls, but they were too late. They belonged to the city now.The Rotten Core of Nuln:
The two of them slipped through the South gates of Nuln. Beyond that lay a vast towering city of stone and smoke. It was the complete opposite to the nurturing arms of of Athel Loren. Faulestadt became their new home. In the hustling, bustling streets and harbours of Faulestadt, the two girls were able to pinch and nibble at whatever they could find.
They joined a gang of street urchins and learnt the various devious and crafty ways in which to get exactly what they wanted. As elves, they out lived and slowly outgrew their gang members. About 50 years had past and Alas had worked her way up to becoming a talented thief. Her heritage and culture had slowly been pushed into the back of her mind as her hard life forced her to become someone else entirely. After all this time she had become street smart and new where to get things and how to use the narrow streets to evade the long arm of the law. One fateful day, while being perused by a persistent guardsman, Alas and her long time companion swiftly darted across the rooftops in an effort to outrun him. They both leapt to try and reach another set of rooftops, but her friend didn’t make it. She fell and hit her head upon the pavement, covering it with her flowing blood. Beggars began to hurriedly loot her corpse as puzzled guardsmen waded towards the scene.
Alas escaped capture that day, but lost her closest friend and only link to the Wood Elves. She decided to leave Faulestadt and travel further into Nuln, across the river to the other side, but she was denied entry to the upper class districts. She needed somewhere to go. What about home? How far is it and does she even remember what it was like? For now she’d try to lay low and search for her new path in life.
