Sorry mate :unsure: . I was afraid it might sound a bit too scary for your character. All the details aren't out yet, so there's still some factors that should milden it up a bit. If that doesn't work, I'm not outright disallowing anyone taking the job, it just means we have to find you something else to do.

Also, the details of the security systems will be mostly up to you guys. It'll be a mook encounter, so you'll have some control over how hard or easy it appears.

LMS, is it on purpose you're not posting any information in spoiler tags? Have you not understood the rules or do you want me to assign your yin/yang dice for you?

All you're supposed to do is place something like this after your post:

   6 details. 4 yang/2 yin. Trait: Rapid Analysis.   .

Also note that you don't have to pull your punches. You don't necessarily have to describe "trying to hit him", you can just go ahead and hit him. You can describe beating him to a bloody pulp as long as you don't describe outright winning the fight and it fits the flow of the fight. Which it doesn't in this case, just to be clear, but it sometimes does.

I know, especially at the tabletop, most people aren't used to be able to do stuff without permission from the dice. But you don't need it here, and depending on who you play against, you may get a lot of beatings if you aren't assertive and try to hit him instead of hitting him.

Bob, do you have any ideas for what you want to do with your character now? Since the setting and situation has been more thoroughly established, you may as well decide for yourself or suggest something. I could spring another random "quest" on you, but I have trouble with anything that doesn't require heroic, reckless bravado.

Hello everyone pardon the absence. Had my work cut out for me between my precalculus final and replacing my groups old GM; combine that trouble brewing in my apartment and things have been just a tad hectic. However, things have mellowed out again now that I've finished with my classes for the summer so I'll be able to post soon. Sorry for the trouble everyone.

Also, I have no problem with that Vegedus. Feel free to march us straight towards that mineairfield

Yay, let's rock the triple post!

Since we have the first mook encounter, let's refresh: For you guys, it's mainly about providing descriptions. Describe what you're doing as usual, quantify it to how many Details that is, and split that amount into Yang and Yin dices and post that and the trait used in spoilers. Each round, you receive one Yang damage automatically, so you need to roll one Yin success every round to avoid losing Chi. Gecko is just a silly npc, so she won't be rolling dices. The Threat Rating is the 'life' of the encounter. When it's down to zero, you'll arrive at Central.

Keep the mook 'philosophy' in mind. You're not actually facing a concrete army of mooks here, it's more of a general challenge. Even so, how it goes down is up to you. You can knock out as many inconsequential Cytek guards as you want, and trip as many, or few alarms as you like. Keep it stealth, or blow up shit as you go. I'll be throwing obstacles at you along the way, but you can also make up your own. Be all "So, there's security camera in the hallway that I explode with my explodey powers of explosion".

You can also roll your own dice her, if ya wanna. Input name, and something like
Code: Select all
4d6;2d6

in the dice field if you're rolling 4 yang, 2 yin.

You can essentially handle the entire encounter yourself if you make up your own obstacles and roll the dice yourself.
