*Bodyguard Job*

The car that would take them to the plane was a fair ways away, thanks to some twat who thought that cars shouldn't be able to come within one block of the lobby's entrance. It had something to do with security although it made the building somewhat unpopular. However, Takai noticed a figure stepping out between them and the car. The lights made it hard to see but by focusing, she could get a good look. He looked, in a word, pathetic. He had brown messy hair, a red jumpsuit, glasses, and a expression so wimpy it made you want to give him a noogie just because. He appeared to be trying to stand in their way.

When Darastrix awoke, he found he was in the exact same place. There were signs of battle all around him but no one was around. However, a note had been wedged under his arm. On one side was a phone number,

Darastrix slowly regained consciousness, then immediately wished he hadn't. Pain racked his body as he felt the toll of the transformation. He only had vague memories of the conflict, but he could see the results all around him. He tried to move, but only managed to shift his position a little before the pain overwhelmed him again. The movement, however, alerted him to the note that was underneath his arm. He pinned it against the ground, then let his body go limp. He was going to have to sleep this off. Then he would examine the note, and maybe find a better place to rest.

People did not flirt with Takai. Her demeanor usually shot the thought of flirtation down as the thought to do it occurred.

So she really had no clue what Sapphire was talking about, and supposed her own meanings upon the words. Her eyes narrowed at the 'cute' comment, and she gave the woman a curt nod as her gaze stopped on the lone man between them and the car.

”I told you. His name is Taka.” She jerked her head back toward Taka, then out toward the man. ”If you can prove your worth, you can accompany us. Go remove the threat.”

{Parking Lot, just outside doorway}

Taka stopped after he and Takai were outside with the blunt and tactless flirt. He lifted a hand, halting the rest of the group to keep them inside the lobby and behind him. His eyes never left the figure standing before them. "Takai... Weak as she is, it'd be best if a civilian wasn't killed... Do you agree?" He asked to his female comrade, moving his arm back down to his side.

Unnecessary deaths are always messy... Just looks bad on the resume. Taka thought.

She glanced to Taka, arching a brown in confusion at him. "I do agree." Her tone filled in the blanks left by her words. She'd never meant that Sapphire should kill the man, just that she should remove him as a blockade, possibly even by literally moving him, bodily.

Excess violence was not in her nature. It was...inefficient and wasteful...

Sapphire Vempari: Removing the "Threat"

With a shrug, she went to the man, one weapon floating behind her back, ready for anything. "Are you alright?" she asked as soon as she was close enough. "Do you need help?" She glanced back at Takai and Taka, shrugging before looking back at the weak man. She was unsure of what to do but tried to lead the man away, her weapon still ready for if the man attacked.

*Critical Failure*

Somehow, the boy manages to stumble over nothing when he was pushed. He knocked over Sapphire. The sword connected to the hunter lowered in response to his change in position and successfully cut open the boy's throat. The corpse fell to the ground and began to leak blood so dark it was almost black. Then something strange happened. There was a huge surge of hatsu energy and, at the moment no one had their eyes on it, the body disappeared. Instead, it was in front of the hunters. Alive again. He looked just as wimpy but he was perfectly fine.

Sapphire Vempari: Impressive

Sapphire moved the weapon from behind her back so she didn't hurt herself as she fell. She was back on her feet not long after. "Alright, who are you and what do you want?" she asked, drawing her wakizashi, the katana floating not far behind her and to her right. She was ready for anything. "Why did you come?" she asked, looking the boy, thinking something was wrong, this boy wasn't normal. Behind her floated her tanto, glaive and chakram, each ready to fly out and block or attack at a moment's notice.

Takai reacted immediately as the hatsu flared, shifting quickly to interpose herself between the wimpy 'assailant' and the client. She stood still and calm, with bored-looking eyes boring into the not!corpse. Her left hand firmly held the sheath of her shorter sword horizontal, and her right hand was curled about the hilt of the same blade, though she did not yet grasp it. It was a state of readiness, and the point from which all reactions could be made.

She trusted Taka, from their moment of mutual understanding before, to know that her ability was more suited to a ranged usage. He'd said nothing before of the pair lacking in the area of close combat, and so she assumed that his skill lay at least partially in that arena. If so, then he was the logical choice to focus on removing the aggressor while she assured the safety of the client...and observed. Observation could prove critical to identifying the powers used and any weak points that could be exploited.
