Walkers of the Realm.

GM: garethcool
Co-GM: nicomon

There are many planes of reality. Each one houses a world of it's own. Every plane has it's own levels of technology, faith, and magic. Every plane even has it's own deities and gods. Although each plane stands alone, there are those who can traverse the planes with ease. They are known as planeswalkers. Planeswalkers are beings who can move through the Æther with ease.
Planeswalkers come from each and every plane, each one specializing in different forms of magic.
Planeswalkers come from all walks of life. Some are bureaucrats, while others were nothing more than students when finding their power. Some planeswalkers use their powers to increase their own wealth and power, while others use their powers to control and hurt. No matter what a planeswalker does with their powers they are universally respected, except within a single realm. This realm is known as 'Syekol'. It is a realm completely ruled by magic and power.

Two opposing forces control this realm. One is feared, and one is revered. Each has fought for years, trying to conquer the other. Each has an army at their disposal, yet neither can muster the power to take the other down. This leaves the entire realm in constant chaos. Each side is constantly in pain, and each side does it's best to avoid defeat. The two combating sides have claimed land as their own and have declared their land as a country. Both countries use two forms of magic to combat the other...

The nation of Anglarea specializes in White and Green magic.

The country of Erius uses Black and Red magic to destroy.

Both of the leaders have grown tired of this battle and wish to end it. This brought forth the summoning. Each side has summoned several planeswalkers to their side to give them an edge in the war. The real question is: Will you answer the call?

Each of the five colors of magic controls different elements. They can be mixed, but for each element you embody past the first your powers across them become weaker.

White mana comes from sprawling plains, sunlit savannahs, and windswept meadows. In Magic, white is the color of law, order, and structure. White magic heals and protects and is often a force for justice and honor. When a white mage fights, legions of troops thunder across the battlefield with their banners held high. Enemy hordes are routed outside the gates of a castle. When white unleashes its wrath, the battlefield is cleansed of all life.
Order, protection, light, law: These are white magic's values.
White is allied with blue and green, and opposes red and black.
White mages fall into these categories: protection, order, and cleansing.

Islands provide blue mana—the magic of the deep sea and the endless sky. Blue magic is about deceit, logic, and illusion. To a blue mage, information and knowledge are paramount. Blue mages want to know everything, and they'll go to any lengths to do so. When a blue mage fights, tidal waves crash against rocky cliffs, the wind whips out of stormy skies, and an enemy's spells fail as their creatures vanish into thin air.
Knowledge, manipulation, wind, and wave: These are the blue mage's tools.
Blue is allied with black and white, and opposes green and red.
Blue mages fall into these categories: mill, counter, and control.

Black mana comes from dank swamps, where things fester and rot. Shadowy wastelands, haunted catacombs, and fetid bogs are all prime sources of black mana. Black is the color of death, fear, and amorality—these are the twisted values of the darkness. Black magic is powerful and easy to wield, but it comes with a high price. Black mages are self-centered and self-serving. They will do anything to get power—no matter what the cost.
Death, ambition, and darkness are the stock and trade of black mages.
Black is allies with red and blue, and opposes green and white.
Black mages fall into these categories: Destruction, sacrifice, or bleed.

Red mana flows from rugged mountain ranges, rocky crags, and the fiery heart of volcanoes. Red magic is about fury and passion. When a red mage fights, lightning arcs across the blood-red sky, lava erupts from the earth, and flash fires consume the land. Red mages can channel their wild emotions to raze a city or to harness flames into deadly weapons.
Freedom, fire, and impulse are the lifeblood of every red mage.
Red is allied with green and black, and opposes blue and white.
Red mages fall into these categories: burn, minion, and special.

The teeming forests overflow with green mana, the pulse of nature. Green magic is about growth, life, and brute force. When a green mage fights, massive creatures crash through the undergrowth, animals enlarge to gargantuan size, and wounds close before blood spills onto the ground.
Strength, ferocity, and life: These are the values that sustain the green mage.
Green is allied with red and white, and opposes blue and black.
Green mages fall into these categories: growth, mana, and summon.

There are things that fall into all of these elements, but also may fall into none. Weapons, beings, and even forces that know not the pull of an element. These have been labeled as 'artifacts'. They are left from generations past. Nobody knows fully what forces govern these things, but 'artificers' study these beings and weapons. They attempt to find and control the ability to give life to their creations... Mages who specialize into artifacts often have an element as a defense.
Artificers fall into these categories: Esper, weapon, and life.
What forces will you embody, planeswalker?

White mages fall into these categories: protection, order, and cleansing.
Protection - Spells of all colors hurt. Let's avoid this, hm?
Order - The ability to make order out of chaos can turn farmers into warriors.
Cleansing - The creatures of this realm are corrupted. Let's move them elsewhere.

Blue mages fall into these categories: mill, counter, and control.
Mill - If someone can't remember a spell they can't cast it, can they?
Counter - Your spells are powerless compared to mine.
Control - Mind control, domestication, cloning, it's all fair game.

Black mages fall into these categories: Destruction, sacrifice, or bleed.
Destruction - Black magic holds the answer to life. Death.
Sacrifice - Your Mimion's blood can weave your spells...
Bleed - Your blood can weave spells. These spells hurt you, but they help...

Red mages fall into these categories: burn, minion, and special.
Burn - Fireballs, lightning, firebreathing... Burn them all with your powers.
Minion - goblins are small and plentiful. Use them to your advantage.
Special - Mountains hold treasure... Lost spells that embody fire, and the power of the gods.

Green mages fall into these categories: growth, mana, and summon.
Growth - Ever seen that tiny rat and wonder what secrets it hides? Release them.
Mana - The land has secrets, the more land you have at your disposal, the sooner you find the secrets...
Summon - Lions, tigers, and wyrms. Oh my.

Artificers fall into these categories: Esper, weapon, and life.
Esper - Living artifacts that are truly amazing.
Weapon - artifacts can be dangerous. Let's show off this danger.
Life - Many artifacts have power, can you release it?

W.I.P.

Name: Artis Veltera

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Element(s): Blue/White/Black

Mage 'Style':
When Sane: Control/Cleansing/Destruction
When Insane:Mill/Counter/Control/Protection/Order/Cleansing/Destruction/Sacrifice/Bleed

Underneath the cloak, Artis wears armor designed to lock up the joints if he loses to much control over his mind. His hair is a highly reflective silver color, and his eyes are black.

Personality: Artis has a nearly immeasurable amount of intelligence, his mind recording and memorizing everything he perceives in any way, even if he doesn't want to. He has so much knowledge that it literally drove him insane, a perfect example of what happens when a blue mage takes their quest for knowledge too far. Because of this, his intelligence is locked away within is insanity, making him appear to as just above average, except when the insanity is in control, and the full strength of his intelligence is released.

History: TO BE REVEALED

Quote: "There is a limit to what the mind can contain. To surpass that limit leads to a fate worse than death itself."

Personality: Quiet, Dmitri prefers to wait things out, wanting to know everything he can before making a decision. Having lost his hot-blooded attitude, he remains calm and collected through any situation, calculating his options before following through on the most beneficial. He can come across as distant or uncaring as he prefers to think on things before speaking.

Quotation: "My eyesight blinded me to the truth of the world. In my foolish pride, I was blinded and that is when my eyes truly opened." - Dmitri Sark, on his Ascension

History: Dmitri was born into a tribe of Naga, humanoids with a long tail instead of a lower body. Dmitri was born to the shaman of the tribe and quickly excelled at the art of black magic like his father. In his juvenile years, he had become powerful enough to handily defeat his father in duels. However, his father still hid secrets from him, and one night he broke into his father's study and took his spellbook to learn the darkest secrets he could find. Finding a ritual to summon a being known as the Reiver Demon, he began the ritual late that night. However, in his foolish pride, he didn't realize he was overstepping his bounds and upon completion of the ritual, he looked in awe as the Demon took form in front of his. Reaching out to it, it turned, rage filling it's eyes. Before he could react, it has slashed directly across his face, destroying both of his eyes. Passing out from the pain, he awakened a few days later in the shamans hut. The world was all black, and yet, it wasn't. He saw the shades of magic in everything. His father a deep black presence, the villagers around lighter motes of black in the sea of the blind. He shrugged them off, feeling much better than before. He returned to where he had summoned the demon. Reenacting the ritual, he brought the demon forward once again, but this time he was prepared, and brought down the wrath of the darkness, defeating it handily. Having been defeated, the demon opened up with knowledge of the planes and other powerful spells. With the demon's knowledge and his new found powers, Dmitri first travelled to the plane of Mirrodin where he acquire a few artifacts of interest, the Gauntlet of Power, the Extraplanar Lens and the Defense Grids. Travelling to Ravnica, he studied briefly with the Dimir and learned much of their dark magic, and learned to respect the ways of the Blue mage. Then he decided to roam the worlds, briefly making a stop in Zendikar, where he met with the Planeswalker Sorin Markov and learned of the ways of the vampires, before heading on his way again. He continued to travel the planes, eventually returning to his village, where he settled down as the shaman with his knew power.

That's exactly what we're doing. Using decks would be a pain in the ass, frankly. You can summon creatures of your element, but must build up your spells from low amounts of mana/small spells.

Creature:
Lullmage Mentor (Advanced)
Guile (Expert)

Artifact:
Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang (Expert)

Appearance: Demetris stands 5'10 and is somewhat skinny,. Being mostly about knowledge will cause someone to not focus on physical training much. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Demetris wears a sky blue light armour and navy blue cloak which he prefers to leave the hood down on, for he feels hiding behind a cloak is a cowardly thing to do.

Personality: Demetris is, arrogant to say the least. And who could blame him? He specializes in countering his opponents. Few and Far between could actually do something against him, so he always has an air of cockyness to him, which he isn't afraid to back it up. Uncaring, egotistical, and willing to gain as much knowledge as he possibly can while stepping over every and anyone who gets in his way? A real shocker that he picked Erius to side with, isn't it?

History: Demetris was born to a large village, the 3rd of his family's 5 children. Being the middle child he always had to work harder than the others to get any sort of attention. However he studied dillegently, as all blue mages do, to aquire as much knowledge as he possibly could. In his studies he came across the art of countering, and it took to his liking. Completely decimating an enemy without laying a finger on them sounded just right for the boy, and he excelled at it, mostly because counterspells are some of the most basic of all spells.

He grew up fighting everyone he could, mastering his counters until he had defeated everyone in the village. His parents were finally proud of Demetris and offered him the head of the household, which he declined. Before he left though, his parents gave him one last parting gift. Tatsumasa, the legendary blade that had been passed down through his family for generations. Demetris obviously accepted this last gift and went on his way. However, unbeknownst to his family, he threw aside his family's name while on his travels, signaling his other hatred for ignoring him all those years.

Quote: "A spell reflects how powerful the caster is. I'll show you how scary it is to be powerless."

Also added 'Quote'. To a degree it's part of personality. I find a quote helps everyone see your character as they're meant to be seen.

If you need an example, I bring forth a quote from Sorin Markov. The vampiric planeswalker.
"I have seen planes leveled and all life rendered to dust. It brought no pleasure, even to a heart as dark as mine."
—Sorin Markov
