I got dibs on a softball bat. I'm going to describe my own personal softball bat. It's really light to me now, but when I was in high school, it was the heaviest bat on the team. Varsity or JV. XD It's black with silver and red drippy lettering: The Ultimate WEAPON

Such a cool bat.

But yes. She's prolly going to get her hands on a sniper rifle. Just because. (It's what I have the most knowledge about, as per guns. That and I can't aim shit when it comes to hand guns, but you're dead if I have anything larger than a handgun)

The only gun my girl will ever carry is a handgun.

She's not a gun person.

Ok music, I may not be the GM

but I do know a thing or two about the army

there's no way in hell that the army of all people would have a revolver. Now I'm sure you're doing it to be "unique" but WELP you are going to get a regular joe-shmo pistol like everyone else.

And just for everyone's information

the standard pistol, is actually not quite so standard it seems. . .

It's the M9, but it's only given out to officers, so I'm quite certain it'll be in more short supply then the other bigs guns will be. Officers don't like to part with their pistols, so I'm thinking 2 or 3 tops.

and now that I think about it

What exactly are we holding our "shit-load-of-stuff" in exactly? You don't just walk around with a big box of buckshot. . .or anything larger and heavier fr that matter

EDITT: Hey, here's a link for military issue weapons so you dopey people know where to look! http://usmilitary.about.com/od/armyweapons/l/aainfantry2.htm

Well, that's goes back to what I said.

Isn't he forcing you to only had what he said? The three pistols and the LMG?

Yep, although I'm sure Fenix will think of something. . .maybe we can get anything on the list besides the explosive and more advanced stuff (the army probably is going to be very stingy though) so one mg I guess would be as generous as they can get.

and if you do have a weapon that's not on the list GUESS WHAT!!! You have to have a valid rreason why you're carrying it around.

I'm fairly sure he already did that.

Since it was relatively abandoned there will only be a a few handguns with 3 clips each of 12 shots, there is a light machine gun with 1 clip of ammunition and a hand grenade for each of you.
Since this is Las Vegas I assume your all packing a knife of some sort.
There are numerous blunt objects that were used to repair vehicles or move debree from around the base (Think construction stuff).
Take your pick.

This.

Seems just about right to me. The military really would not give out very much if at all to the survivors.

Although I wonder why they'd give out pistols, as M16s and M4's are far more numerous, and those M9's are only for officers.

(Remember that everyone: those pistols are actually M9's not any other wacky gun you like)

I've been reading this here thread. O: And I have nothing to add but:
Battlefield 2 taught me that the Beretta 92 was the military sidearm to use.

Though my unqualified opinion says that people should ease off the weaponry because the most fun part of a zombie movie is watching the survivors get past zombies with very little ammo and barely any weaponry.
Ideas are bulletproof.

Yeah, I don't think I'm not going to give Patty a gun at all. She couldn't handle it, and I rather like the idea of her only having a grenade and a knife to defend herself.

I approve of this statement

Hey Slip, it's been bothering me a bit... but... the military wouldn't let a 16 year old handle the machinegun with all the adults I've seen so far right? Heck with what you're saying I don't even know if they'd give out an M9

agreed

@BG: double agreed and if it's allowed, well Livix don't be surprised if everyone gets together and actually "assigns" weapons and you get a pistol. Remember we all have to work together to survive. a machine-gun in the hands of a 16 year old wouldn't be allowed by any thinking adult in the group, unless you want to try and survive on youre own.

Hm, like where this is going, working on a CS.
- If you don't give a crap, go out and find a reason to.
- Life is as good as your current state permits you to enjoy it.
- To block out the world, I put headphones on, so I don't have to listen, to anyone.

And damn well I can't argue with you there Slips and BG ... well it's probably for the best I'm staking my entire character off of me IRL and personally I prefer more melee combat anyway

Name: Vincent Mcmillan
Gender: Male
Age: 20

Appearance/weight:
Vincent weighs 183 lbs and is 6 foot 1 with a slender, not to muscular body.
He lets his red-blonde hair the way it is, not using gel or whatever for it, has light-green eyes
and a few small scars scattered across his face.
He'll most likely be seen wearing a black jacket that's completely unzipped,
together with a dark green or blue T-shirt. Under that, he'll be wearing dark jeans and black/grey combat-boots.

Personality:
If you don't know him, Vincent will come over as a quiet person with a "Don't mess with me" attitude,
though once you get to know him, he'll show himself as a nice and caring guy. But even then, pissing him off is generally a bad idea.
Thanks to, or due to his former job, he's gotten a habit to always check whatever, or whoever you're working with.
The last few years, he's had problems with insomnia, him not being able to find sleep more and more frequently.
He's quite a smart guy, but he prefers not to show it off, and dislikes "being the hero/leader", though he can act and think quickly while under pressure.

Former employment: Before the outbreak, Vincent used to be a dj in a small nightclub, but he recently was discovered as an artist and was offered a job in a casino.

Hobbies:
- He's been going to the shooting range together with his father for years.
- Going to nightclubs and to the movies with his friends.
- Playing Video games, most notably the RE series, Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead.
- A few years back, he took a liking to reading, but he likes no writer or book in particular.
- He used to help his uncle and has since then studied several things about mechanics.

History:
Before Vincent moved to Vegas with his family, he lived in a small town, without to much worry.
Often times, he'd visit his uncle, an engineer, working only a street away while his parents were working and he'd have free time. This has also helped him with fixing the family car whenever it broke down during trips.

A few years back, he and his family moved to Vegas, thanks to his father's job. This has caused him to dislike his father, and to act like a little criminal at times. During one of these "criminal days", he got caught by some mall cop while destroying a vendor machine, but managed to get away from him.
While getting into a fight every so often, his mother was trying to get him to do something he liked, something that'd redirect his feelings into more positive things.

Now, Vincent knew he loved music, but how could he do anything positive with that? To Vincent's surprise, his father found the solution: making your own music, which then later developed into his job as a dj. A few months later, they reestablished their father and son bond, doing what they hadn't done in quite some time.

Now, he'd gone to some airshow in the desert with his friends and his girlfriend, thinking he'd have a fun day. How wrong that thought had been pointed itself out later on...

Bravery: 6

Equipment:
Backpack:
- Charger for his MP3.
- His MP3.
- Headphones and earphones (in case one or the other would break down).
- A pack of cigarettes (He quit smoking, but that pack happened to still be in there)
- A lighter. (Same as with the cigarettes)
- A few bottles of water.
- Some wrapped candy.
- A few bandages and some other things.
- His toolkit (He often repairs the car, and takes it with him, just in case.)
- A (heavy) hammer, duct tape, nails and some other supplies from the base.
- That one handgrenade.

Jacket:
- A Glock 18, given to him by his father, along with 5 cartridges with 10 bullets each.

One of his favorite songs: Nightcore - Zombie Remix

Had to do it.

@music: details mah boi, at least mention the weapon or something from your character. And Deputy Marshals are still part of the gov't something like that would be private, when's the last time you've ever heard of a gov't "anything" using a revolver in their line of duty?

@Slipslash: To prove my point and apparently even give myself more assist, here's a good old quote from both Wikipedia and the official U.S. Marshals Website.

According to the US Marshal's website, "The U.S. Marshals Service's primary hand gun is the Glock 22 or Glock 23 in .40 S&W caliber. Each deputy may carry a backup hand gun of their choice if it meets certain requirements." They also are equipped with AR-15s and 12 gauge shotguns.

This means that Ronnie is constantly carrying a Glock 23/22, a backup sidearm of choice, and even keep a rifle/shotgun in his car legally if he chooses to. Also, I forgot to add in handcuffs.
So yeah, point proven.

Umm... you failed to mention those 'certain requirements'

Also who asked you to be a US marshal? Giving you advantages over anyone else who's just a normal person? Most of the people here have only two or three weapons, you've given yourself 7.

and I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you have just come from an Airshow, it doesn't seem likely (unless you had a reason for all those guns) that even if you had your credentials that the personnel would let you by with more then your pistol(s)
