Its fine. Can't see the picture for Damien though. So I need someone to tell me if its alright.

Inamabilis

Its mentioned in the main history of your CS. We aren't dealing with them anymore.

Overall, its approved. Just be careful with the Summoning units, and make the needed edits.

Love how that still gets you to laugh, I'm fixing all the pictures for easier viewing, and will do Captain.

EDITED: Finished with the CS, tell me what you think.
Perhaps you are asking the wrong questions?

Yus, bring back Faus!

Still working on a Demi-god character, but here’s Mystara’s revised CS.
Don’t ask me how this ended up so long. Once I started editing, I just couldn’t stop myself from adding more details in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Mystara Hallow
(Note: Not related to D&D in anyway. Had no idea that name was taken.)
Gender: Female
Race: Gato
Class: Orphaned Civilian/vagrant/Survivor
Age: 13
Affiliation: Exalian
Skills/magic/abilities: Good with explosives -
Mystara has knowledge on how to create a powerful chemical explosive her brother, Jace, invented whilst experimenting; a substance her brother called ‘Nitro-9’. Given the right chemicals and equipment she can re-create this home-made explosive ready for use...although being a sort of apprentice to her brother, she admits she’s not as good at it as Jace was.
After her brother died, she took up his mantle so to speak, and starting experimenting with chemicals herself, wanting to become as good as he was.
Potions and Potion-making –
She has reasonable knowledge on potions and, again like her brother started to experiment, hoping to come up with some new potion ideas. However as good as she is, she’s no expert.
Agility/Speed/Super Acrobatic Ability –
She is very agile, quick, jumpy and light on her feet, with fast reactions and a keen sense of intuition. Her tail is strong, giving her good support, grip and balance. In fact her movements are pretty acrobatic, even by Gato standards (and that’s saying something).
Size Advantage –
Being quite small and flexible, she is also good at squeezing into small or confined spaces, and hard-to-reach places, and can use her size and speed to her advantage.
Little Miss Con Artist
She is an opportunist, using not only her height and speed, but also her youth and vulnerable appearance to her advantage. She’s not afraid to play adults for suckers, particularly if they fall for her without her even trying. If it works to her advantage, she will seamlessly play the ‘innocent vulnerable child’ role, to such an extent that it’s sometimes hard to determine whether she’s being genuine, or whether she’s just playing along (However sometimes she is genuine, especially if it concerns her brother). But yes, she is very genre savvy to the fact that children are perceived as innocent and vulnerable, and she will exploit that idea if given half a chance. In her opinion, if people underestimate her and take her for nothing more than a little girl, why not see it as an opportunity, rather than a disadvantage? All the easier for her to get away with murder, so to speak.
She can also be a very convincing liar if she needs to – she’s had years of experience making up stories, or simply ‘not telling the truth’, in order to wriggle out of tight spots, or to get people to do favours for her. If she chooses to be, she can be virtually impossible to read, being able to mask her emotions so that no one can tell from her body language what she is thinking. (However in some situations, she has struggled with this, and it doesn’t always work).
Survival Skills –
Mystara has all the abilities you would expect from someone who’s spent a good few years surviving on the street. Expert in stealing, hiding, running away, good sense of direction, fast reactions, excellent persuasion skills…the list goes on. Living on the streets has also made her very practical and resourceful. She is also very street savvy…despite her brother’s best efforts to keep her safe, her life has been far from sheltered. She might not have much experience, but she hasn’t been wrapped in cotton wool all her life either, and from what few years she’s lived in the world, she has seen a lot.
Musical Talent (more a quirk than anything else)–
A good ear for music and an avid musician, just like her mother. Mystara has a surprising gift for music, in particular the Flute.
Appearance: Small and youthful, standing at 4”7. Wears a dark pair of light-weight boots, baggy but feminine-styled trousers with pockets, faded blue shirt, and black shawl-type jacket with quarter-length sleeves. Over this she wears a dark light-weight travel cloak with a hood attached. Her hair is long and silver, her fur and tail is light grey with medium grey stripes similar to a tabby cat, and she has bright blue eyes framed by deep black rims around the iris.
She is a bit unkempt/dishevelled from living an impoverished life, but being a Gato, hygiene is always important, and she keeps herself clean.
Starting equipment:
*Nitro-9 + Satchel
8 cans of Nito-9. (A unique and powerful chemical explosive her brother was notorious for concocting – it’s a stronger variant of Nitroglycerin with extra added punch.) She carries it in an old but durable satchel bag (fixed with padding to avoid too many knocks and bumps). Her bag can hold up to a maximum of 10 cans, added with all her other belongings. If she wants to carry more, she would have to take some things out of her bag, and/or find some other method of carrying them.
>>Note: added to this she does have various hiding places around Gia Panta (and elsewhere in the world), where she stores and stocks up on a generous supply. However she would have to get to one of said hiding places and take the time to refill the supply she carries with her. She cannot just refill her satchel instantly, neither will she ‘suddenly’ find a supply of explosives in the middle of nowhere.
*A small collection of potions
She has bottles containing various different enchantments and potions, which she carries around her person.
- 1 large(ish) bottle of Invisibility potion (the more taken the longer it lasts).
- Healing potion/ointment. Can heal general injuries and stop bleeding, but can not mend broken bones or heal severe injuries.
- 2 small bottles of Stamina and energy potions. Like an energy drink, only much more effective. Gives drinker an energy boost. Good for times when food is scarce (or, when in a fight…)
- “Stardust”: Unlike ordinary potions that take on a liquid form, this is a fine dust which, if blown lightly over an enchanted invisible object/person, will make it visible again. Use is for magic or things under an enchantment, not technology or cloaking devices.
>>Same applies with this. She has secret stores containing more potions – these are just the ones she has on her at the moment. If I add any more potions to her collection, I will check first to make sure it is ok with you.
*A survivor’s provisions
A small amount of provisions (She travels about, so she packs light) – 1 day’s ration of food, drink, matches, a small amount of money and a spare change of clothes.
*Dagger
A dagger given to her by her brother – she keeps it sheathed and tied around her waist.
*Flute
A small silver flute which belonged to her mother, an item of sentimental value.
*The Sword of Asymbolus
(thought it was an appropriate name, considering where it came from)
IMAGE
A mysterious thin and grand sword taken from the very depths of the Cave of Asymbolus, inside the Forest of Memories. The Sword is made from a similar substance to the crystal trees of the forest, and glows with the purest of light. Not much is known about it, but the sword appears to be either itself sentient, or has some sentient being or spirit living inside it. The sword appears to have a life of its own, controlling the light that shines from it, and speaking to Mystara through her mind.
Other Abilities: ? (Blood Lord I’ll leave this up to you)
The sword helped guide Mystara out of the caves and fight away the monsters that were chasing her. Despite Mystara’s size and strength making it difficult to wield the sword, and not being at all familiar with sword-fighting, Mystara has kept a hold of the object that brought her comfort in the face of death and saved her life. She treats the Sword as she would a friend or confidant, and has somewhat grown attached to it. Who knows? Maybe she will need it again…
NPC(s): None.
Only the memories of her lost brother, Jace, accompany her. [Mystara and Jace’s theme – only because the lyrics fit them so well]
Personality: Quiet and sensitive by nature, but also capable of being a fierce fighter if the situation calls for it. For someone young and so quiet Mystara is not as naive as she appears to be. Her life has been one of sorrow and loss, and she’s had to grow up fast. Having had to take a lot of responsibility on her shoulders, she is independent with a fighting spirit, and quite capable of looking after herself (as she will be quick to tell anyone who doesn’t think so!).
Generally she’s quite suspicious of people and aloof ...she’s been down some very dark alleyways in her short life. In fact she and her brother always lived by the motto of ‘you can’t trust anyone’ – it was this attitude to life that has so far kept Mystara out of danger. If someone tries to help her, she always sees a hidden agenda behind it. The times when she has been careless enough to put her trust in someone, it has often ended badly one way or another, so she tends not to let herself get too close to anyone…although recently she’s been finding that more difficult than usual.
Regarding her brother:
The only exception she has ever had to this rule of distrust is her brother…her brother had been like her whole family to her, and her only friend. But now with him dead, she has no one to trust but herself. Her brother’s death has also made her, in some ways, stronger – she’s not same defenceless child she used to be when her brother was around (although even with him dead, her brother is still a real weakness of hers). If she’s fighting for her life, she isn’t afraid to harm or kill anyone who crosses her, in order to protect herself. She hates it, and hates not being able to trust anyone, but it’s something she’s grown up with. And she will fight to the bitter end – if not for her own life, then in memory of her brother, Jace. She now strives to learn the skills and trades her brother loved so much, in memory of him. Everything she does is for her brother. It’s what keeps her motivated, what keeps her living day to day, and what keeps her fighting.
Quirks
Mystara is, and always has been, able to play her part well (see abilities) Always the little actress (or Little Miss Con Artist, depends on your point of view), she can turn her emotions on and off like a switch, or decide which emotions she wishes to reveal to people, and which she wishes to remain private. Although, as mentioned previously, sometimes she does trip up, in particular when faced with a situation she’s not familiar with.
When faced with hostility she immediately makes herself appear calm and fearless, an automatic psychological defence mechanism that comes from many years of running and hiding from danger (A young Gato girl travelling alone, it hasn’t been easy). However under her tough façade, Mystara feels vulnerable and sometimes lost without her brother’s protection and guidance. She is very much aware of the fact that as much as she tries to be strong and responsible, she is still just a child in many people’s eyes.
Having said that, being very aware of her appearance and age, Mystara has always tried to use it to the best of her advantage...sometimes deliberately playing on her youth, appearing lost and vulnerable to persuade someone to let her stay a night or give her a free meal, or use it to her advantage in some other way. However she is also aware that this doesn’t work on everyone, and is fully aware that certain people may not give her any liberties because of her youth.
Morals and ethics
Mystara isn’t on either side as such. Not with the Indolentia, but certainly not with the Empire. Very much a technical pacifist, she doesn’t want any trouble, and doesn’t want to fight. But like her parents and brother before her, she’s hated the the Empire her whole life. In her eyes all they have brought is sorrow and death. And joining the Indolentia is certainly something her brother would have done, back when he was alive.
However generally speaking (and certainly for the moment), Mystara would not choose any side. Despite her utter hate for the Empire, she remains fairly neutral, believing that the Indolentia aren’t that much better than the people they are fighting against. Her side, as far as she is concerned, is the ‘Non killing’ side, and her own side. Although she will kill if she feels the situation calls for it and accepts that death happens, she does not believe killing is right…with everyone she loved now dead, it’s no real surprise.
If she had to be placed in an alignment, it would be Neutral Good.
History:
Mystara’s memories of life before the De’larin Empire invaded are vague, since she was still very young, but she does remember feeling happy, safe and secure, something she hasn’t truly felt in a long time. She lived with her family in Pasarela, her mother a musician and her father something of an Alchemist and Botanist. Mystara’s father ran a small business from their home, mainly selling potions, chemicals, metals and material with magical properties. Mystara’s brother, Jace, took up an interest in his father’s line of work, and indeed in chemistry in general, always mixing and experimenting with different chemicals, plants and potions. Mystara often watched them working, but beyond observing she didn’t develop an interest herself. She shared her mother’s musical talents, and spent a lot of time practicing and playing on her mother’s old flute. Times were hard on the family under the Empire’s rule, and Mystara’s parents grew to loathe the De’larin Empire…something which didn’t go unnoticed by their children. Mystara’s parents were not actively part of the Talen rebellion, however they were strong supporters of the movement, Mystara’s father often supplying the resistance with rare potions and magical substances, as well as giving them formulas to create metals and chemicals with magical properties.
Then came The Purge. Mystara was just nine years old, her brother thirteen. Their home was set on fire while they were all still inside. By some chance, Jace managed to use a prototype explosive he was working on, Nitro-9, to blast open an escape route. He and Mystara made it out alive – however their parents did not. The fire had spread quickly, and had blocked the way for the two adult Gatos to get through. Of course due to their line of work, their father’s workshop was packed full of explosive and flammable substances. Their home and everything inside it was completely obliterated. With hell descended all around them, the two siblings managed to flee the city and escape to safety. But everything they knew and loved had been lost. Family, friends, home, life, all destroyed in the space of a few hours. Mystara and Jace became orphaned, homeless and penniless all on the same day.
With their city destroyed, their parents dead and left with nothing but a few belongings and each other, Mystara wandered the lands with her brother. She being so young, Jace swore to protect her. They steered clear of criminal gangs, thieves and rebellions, Jace not wanting to expose Mystara to that lifestyle. As much as Jace would have loved to join a rebellion against the Empire he now loathed, his main concerns were for Mystara and her safety. So instead they made their own way, scavenging, scrounging, begging and stealing in order to survive. Jace wanted to protect Mystara as best he could, and kept up with his experiments by stealing household chemicals and items off other people, creating potions and developing his explosive ‘Nitro-9’. Over the years the two Gato siblings became thick as thieves, and developed a strong bond. The two were practically inseparable. Jace taught Mystara how to use and create Nitro-9 for herself, as well as any other tricks and skills he had picked up. He knew that one day, as soon as the two of them where old enough and ready, he would join a rebellion. He would get his revenge on the people who had killed their parents, and destroyed their lives.
However that day never came. When Mystara was 12 years old, a fight broke out on the street where the two Gatos were situated at the time, between a squadron of Grims and a small faction of rebels. Caught in the crossfire, they tried to get out of the battle zone. Mystara made it to safety…her brother Jace, who was just behind her, did not. He was 16 years old. She saw him gunned down before her eyes, and had to keep on running to save herself. It feels to her like she’s been running ever since. From that moment on, her world was shattered. She had lost the one thing she had left in the world. Now she was left with nothing.
For one long lonely year she roamed the cities and lands of the planet alone, travelling and surviving as she has always done. But now she is determined to make sure her brother did not die in vain, one way or another. She has tried to toughen herself up, tried to follow in her brother’s footsteps and become more like him. She fights her own battles now, defending herself the way her brother used to defend her. She hates both sides for the suffering they have caused, but blames the Empire most of all. If it weren’t for them, none of this would have happened. There isn’t a day that goes by that she doesn’t miss her brother, or ever let herself forget what happened to him; who is responsible.
It is exactly a year to-the-day since Jace died in the crossfire of Grims and rebels. Mystara has travelled to the Forest of Memories, having heard of rumours you can see your past there. Despite how much sadness surrounds her past, there was also happiness, and she wants to spend time remembering her brother on this day. She would give anything just to see him alive again…even if only in her memories.
Forever Endless History-to-Present Summary (reconned a little for convenience):
However, having journeyed into the Forest, she got a little more than what she bargained for. Perhaps if she knew of the horrors that lay hidden beneath the beauty of the place, she would have never ventured in there. A shadow creature of the forest, a shapeshifter, spied on her as she wandered through the crystal trees. The creature approached her at Sorrow Lake in the guise of her brother, Jace, and lured her to the Cave of Asymbolus, home to many creatures of the same kind. Mystara, in a state of confusion and desperation for her brother to be alive again, fell for the ploy. She only realised too late that what she saw wasn’t what she thought she saw. The creature was one who mimicked people’s appearances in order to lure travellers to the cave, and feast on them. Whilst distracted, Mystara was knocked out and dragged deep into the labyrinth-like cave. However by some luck, and the help of a mysterious sword that lay inside the cave (see starting equipment for details), Mystara managed to escape before she could be killed. Running through the maze-like cave interior, with the sword to guide her through the dark and shadow creatures giving chase, the young gato found the way out, and deployed a can or two of Nitro-9 to barricade the tunnel, killing many of the monsters and leaving her with enough time to get away.
Seeming to have lost the creatures, Mystara has run back to the safety of Sorrow Lake. Having recovered a little from the ordeal, she wonders how she can get out of the forest without running into more danger…but her mind is also on the reason why she came here in the first place.
Starting point: Sorrow Lake, Forest of Memories.
Theme song: “Children of Earth”
Battle theme: “Moondance” – Night Wish
Basically, because not much is known about the sword, it could have other abilities.
What I'll do (partly because I'm lacking creative ideas for it right now), is that if I think of a new ability to add to the sword, I'll PM you first to check that it's ok. If not, I won't use it. Basically its to keep the swords' power unknown (it's from the Forest of Memories, so it figures it would be something a little beyond most people's knowledge), but avoid pulling extra powers completely out of hammerspace.
Is that ok?
Oh boy.
Here’s my epic Demi-God. Fear her.
Possibly one of the most ambitious CS’s I’ve ever gone ahead with. I’ve gone all out on this, so if I’m being too ambitious, just say so and I will tone it down. Hope I haven’t made her overpowered :x
~Finished!~
Name: Lady Ivy “Xantara” Swift
“Xantara” means ‘Protector of the Earth’ (‘Earth’ here, meaning nature, the soul of the planet Exalia). It was the title given to her by the Goddess that gave her, her powers. Her birth name is Ivy Evvette Swift.
Gender: Female
Race: Elf, promoted to Demi-God(dess)
Class: Upper-class Traveller
A Protector of the planet on the personal behalf of the Goddess Gaiana (Exalia’s Mother Nature, no less).
One of three leaders of the Indolentia
(Note: I say ‘leader’ lightly, since although she has authority and a commanding presence, she was never a born leader. She prefers to go her own way, is a bit spontaneous and doesn’t always stick to the plan.)
Age: 27
Affiliation: Indolentia
Skills/magic/abilities: Skills:
Archery/fighting skills - Ivy is exceedingly gifted at archery. With precision aiming and timing, her arrows are rarely known to miss their target. She is also a reasonably decent combatant, and knows how to handle a sword, although purely magic/elemental-based attacks are more her forte.
Ultimate Potions Master/Mistress – Due to knowledge bestowed upon her by Gaiana, Ivy knows the workings of every plant, every magic or substance that comes directly from nature…such as potions and deadly poisons. If she needs an ingredient, no matter how rare, she will find it, and know exactly how to use it. In theory, she could create any kind of potion-induced enchantment she wishes…but potions take time to make.
Animal tamer/green fingers – Ivy has an incredible talent for taming wild beasts and for growing things. No one can compete with her gardening skills! Although her gardening tends to be a bit on the…wild and destructive side.
~Magicks~
Ivy’s magic is, naturally, purely nature-based. Her elemental magic is that of the earth, and all things associated with the breath of life, and the natural ordered chaos of things. Goddess Gaiana controls the Ephemeral, and so does Ivy, to a certain extent. She can use these spells in combination too, for added efficiency, although clearly the more she does, the more taxing it is on her.
Animal Army Summon – Ivy Xantara can call any animal or beast to her aid to fight alongside her, or fight on her behalf. A dragon? A plague of frogs? An army of vicious man-eating squirrels? She can do it. She can call on any creature (provided it’s not human or near-human – she can’t control ‘people’, only animals) to do her bidding. However like any animals, they can get injured and die, and although they may be more skilled and stronger under Ivy’s influence, they are much the same as any other creature of their species. Also the more powerful the animal (quantity taken into account as well), naturally the more energy it takes to summon. Her animal army also acts as her personal entourage and her ‘elite soldiers’. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they are untrained, (and for the most part) untamed animals. Under Xantara’s command, they are a force to be reckoned with, and their bite is far worse than their bark.
Gaiana’s breath – Ivy can control the weather to suit her needs. Wind, Sleet and Snow, Thunder storms, Hurricanes…etc. Of course the more powerful it is and the longer she uses it, the more taxing it is on her. Weather on an apocalyptic scale is strictly out of the question, since although she has god-like powers, she’s no goddess (plus the planet’s dying, so yeah). Recently with the current state of the planet, she’s been finding this power a little…temperamental, and sometimes not as powerful as she intended, or otherwise a little out of her control.
Gaiana’s Shock – Ivy can channel lightning through her hands, and can charge it up before blasting it at her opponents. She can also channel electricity into her weapons, or use special ‘lightning arrows’ and other lightning/electrical weapons. Using this ability and channelling it through her stings like hell, though…and apparently it’s getting more painful for her the more the planet deteriorates, as if her body is struggling to find the power to protect itself from the powerful magic.
Gaiana’s Tears – If there’s any water nearby (within a half a mile radius), Ivy can manipulate it in any way she chooses and use it against her enemies. In other words, if you’re by an Ocean or Lake…oh shit
However obviously where there is no water, there’s nothing for Ivy to manipulate, since she can’t create or summon water. She can only use existing bodies of water around her. Water from the air can be used too, but it tends to be tricky to manipulate, and she needs time and patience to gather it up and use it effectively.
Gaiana’s Rage – Ivy can generate fire and manipulate it against her enemies. She can send volleys of fire balls after them, create walls and circles of fire, or simply burn on contact. But again, raging infernos sap a lot of strength, not to mention fire is not the most accurate of weapons, and can do a lot of surrounding damage. She won’t use it if there are innocents around. Like Gaiana’s Shock, she’s beginning to find this is slowly beginning to do damage to her, too.
Gaiana’s Hope – Ivy can let out a burst of powerful blinding light to dazzle, distract or temporarily disarm her opponent. Mainly used to buy some time, find an opening for an attack, or to help her make a quick exit. Can’t be used repetitively or in quick succession, spell takes a while to ‘recharge’ so to speak.
Ice Queen – Ivy can create and manipulate ice. She can create ice armour or shields or walls of ice to protect herself, and create weapons made of ice. She can also send ice raining down from the sky on her enemies. She used to be able to freeze things on contact too and create her own ‘ice soldiers’ with animated ice sculptures, but that power has deteriorated and vanished. Her ice isn’t as cold or as strong as it used to be, when she was first gifted with it.
Animate the Inanimate (Nature’s puppet) – Ivy can temporarily enchant trees and plants to move and take a life of their own under her control, or indeed any inanimate object, so long as it’s made from natural materials and isn’t manmade. Again, she can use anything within a half-mile radius. This includes (but is not limited to) corpses, bones, alive and dead plants, and rocks (with enough power she can move the earth too and create miniature earthquakes). She can also make plants grow in seconds (although this is limited; she can’t grow an entire forest from nothing, and she has to have the seeds to make it grow)
Oh and another thing, it has to be inanimate (or a plant). She can’t take control of something that has already been brought to life/controlled by someone/something else.
Send Back To Sender -
(Also known as “Gaiana’s Laughter”…for reasons that will become apparent.)
>>Beware: If any elemental or nature-based magic is used against Ivy, she can take control of it, and either dispel it or turn it back against the person who cast it. Using any kind of elemental magic against a Demi-god of Nature is a bad move indeed. Such actions would make the Goddess Gaiana burst out laughing in the heavens.
Of course this power is restricted only to elemental magic. Anything else, and Ivy will have to find another way of defending herself.
~Special Summons~
“Ashes”, The Great Phoenix – A wise and ancient mythological fire bird of immense power. A great and beautiful creature of old legends. Flames engulf it and surround it, burning and scorching anything in its path (at its will) that gets too close to it. It can breathe fire too, and is practically immortal. If it dies, it will simply explode and burst into flames for maximum damage, before being reborn out of the ashes, ready to fight again. Also its tears have healing powers than can heal any wound, no matter how severe. Can only be called upon once in battle (when the creature is killed three times, on its third ‘death’ it must retire), and it can be called at any time when not in a fight, should Ivy need its help other than fighting in a battle.
Angelo – A youthful heavenly creature made out of the purest of light. Some say he could even be an angel, however that is unknown. What is known is that he lives in a similar plain to the gods themselves, and he’s a very good friend of Gaiana’s. He was assigned by Gaiana to assist Ivy where possible. He fights with weapons made out of heavenly light and air, and can fly great heights and distances at great speed. Very fast and very light. Can even travel at the speed of light. Very effective against Undeads, but can only be called upon in battle for brief amounts of time before he has to return. A being of pure light, like a fish out of water he can only stand to be in the ‘darkness’ of this world for so long, and being not as powerful as the gods means that he can temporarily semi-incarnate himself into this world (but as stated, only for a very brief period of time. After making one or two attacks, he would have to disappear for a while before coming back to fight again).
~Abilities~
Super Agility/speed/energy: A Demi-goddess of nature and almost a representation of life itself, Ivy has an exceptional amount of grace, health, and a nimbleness and dexterity about her that is hard to keep up with. She is almost like a ball of energy, and can bounce and spring about like she is made of rubber. Like a child constantly dosed on caffeine, it’s very hard to slow her down once she gets going. Her energy seems almost boundless, like life itself.
A Sixth Sense: Ivy can feel people’s presence or natural ‘auras’ (not magic auras though, that is something different). She can sense things on a level that a lot of beings can’t, and is usually extremely perceptive of her physical surroundings. Camouflage and cloaking devices won’t work, at least, not to the extent that they are meant to. She can sense when people are in the area. However although she feels their presence, she can’t pinpoint their exact location. When Ivy Xantara looks into your eyes, it’s said that her perceptibility can allow her to glimpse into your soul.
Knowledge of Nature and Chaos: They say Mother Nature works in mysterious ways. And Ivy has had a lot of this knowledge passed on to her. Whilst she wasn’t given all of Gaiana’s knowledge, Ivy nonetheless knows a great deal of the inner workings of life itself, and with it, the Ordered Chaos that is Mother Nature. Despite what impression Ivy may give, she has wisdom beyond her years. In fact, perhaps the reason she acts the way she does, is because she now knows something, that those who chain themselves to rationality and order couldn’t possibly understand…
Appearance: The following, only without the wings and hair-piece, and dressed in an emerald green cloak over the dress. Dress is longer and less out of place, but still retains its beautiful, somewhat ‘natural’ look.
Image
Standing at 5’6”, thin, supple and slender. Curly, wavy brown hair that reaches just past her shoulders, pointed elf ears and green eyes that practically shine. Ivy is a young woman with pale radiant skin, and with a slightly impish or pixie look about her. Her eyes practically sparkle with youth…in fact her whole appearance seems to visibly radiate youth and energy. You could say that she has a very young soul, and it clearly shows. On her feet she either wears elegant sandals adorned with silver, or brown knee-high boots, depending on her mood. Recently due to the current state of the planet, she’s been looking more melancholic and darker than her usual self, however generally she gives the impression of something wild, lively and full of a zest for life.
Ivy Xantara wears no armor, preferring to stay as light as possible, and relies on her super-quick reflexes and amazing speed as her defence. (Besides, she can always ‘create’ armor from ice). Not to mention she just doesn’t like armor. Pfft. Armor. Who needs it? Such an uncomfortable man-made item.
Starting equipment: * A quiver of her own, specially-made arrows.
She can summon for more when she needs them. In theory she has an endless supply, but like many things her summoning abilities are dependant on her own energy, and the energy of the planet. Her arrows are well designed for fast, swift movement through the air, a good shooting range, and a deep, deadly impact. It cannot break through armor, but it has an uncanny knack for finding just the right weak-spot, if there is any. It’s almost (but not quite), like her arrows have a life of their own. Often she will add poison to the tip, or combine her arrows with her magic to create the ultimate archer’s weapon.
* Her bow, “Animus”
Like her arrows, her bow is made to her designs and specifications, and is one of a kind...although at first glance there is nothing remarkable about it. A gift from Gaiana, it’s strengthened with heavenly materials, making it near-unbreakable. She keeps the bow strapped to her back when not in use.
* Xantara’s Looking Glass
Having spent a long time in the Forest of Memories (and gifted with Gaiana’s knowledge), Ivy has created a hand-held mirror from the crystals of the forest. Whilst not as potent as the crystal trees of the forest, anyone looking into this ‘mirror’ will see a (voluntary or involuntary) glimpse into their past – the very flicker of a memory. Ivy can use this mirror for herself, or turn it against her enemies; showing them the mirror can act as a distraction while she takes action. When combined with Angelo’s light, the looking glass can reflect and deflect the light so that the light focuses on her target, like a magnifying glass would. The combination of crystal glass and Angelo’s light also has a curious effect, not all too different from the Sword in Mystara’s possession…
* Xantara’s sword
IMAGE
Ivy doesn’t use her sword much. She much prefers using her magic. But with her power slowly deteriorating, she’s found herself relying on melee weapons in combat more and more, so she always keeps her sword on her person, just in case.
The sword, like her bow, is strengthened beyond its potential, courtesy of the Goddess of the Earth. But apart from being nearly unbreakable, there is nothing particularly significant about Xantara’s sword, in terms of abilities. It’s there to protect and defend, and that’s exactly what it does. And, like her arrows, she can use her elemental magic on the blade…
*A small(ish) bag with the following equipment:
- A wooden Celtic pan flute
- A fife (she does love her musical instruments)
- A few extra changes of clothes
- A feathered quill and inks (and some paper and parchment too)
- A bottle of water
- A collection of vials containing various poisons and antidotes (keeps at least one vial on her person at all times, too)
*On her person (in pockets at the like):
- A good sum of money (Rich aristocratic background, go figure)
- 2 apples
- A small pouch full of stones
- A small pouch containing various seeds, both common and rare
- One bottle of Advanced Invisibility potion. (Allows the drinker to become not only undetectable by sight, but heat vision too. Sonar would still work, though)
- One bottle of Flight Potion (Gives drinker the power of flight for a limited time)
NPC(s): (Requesting permission to use this, please?)
>> Her own elite ‘Animal Army’ and personal cohorts<<
As mentioned in the ‘powers’ section, Xantara rarely goes anywhere without an animal escort or entourage of some description: from great leopards and cougars when she wants to impress or needs protection, to a tiny mouse hidden in her pocket when she want to be more covert in her actions. They act as companions, confidants, soldiers and guards. Acting as Ivy’s eyes and ears, she can also communicate with them on a telepathic level, so that she can see, hear and experience things through her animal companions. Under her power, the animals are capable of human speech and a some amount of human thought (however they are still first and foremost wild beasts – just because they are tame for Ivy does not mean they will be tame towards others, unless under specific instructions from Ivy). Think Narnia, only less humanised, more animal and feral (and if need be bloodthirsty), and you get the gist of what her animal entourage is like.
Theme: “Mahati” – Skanda Music
Battle Theme: ”Dragon Rider” – Two Steps From Hell
Personality: Ivy is a good-natured, free-spirited individual with a passion for life. Ivy can at times be very serious (and when she gets serious, you’ll know about it), and at other times very carefree. Also tends to be quite temperamental, and prone to mood swings. Despite the wisdom and knowledge she has been granted and her authoritative presence, she is very young at heart, and is brimming with childlike energy. Even when in battle, Ivy tends to be lively and high-spirited, added with a few tongue-in-cheek comments and mischievous quips. She generally has laid back attitude and is full of cheek. She’s rebellious, spontaneous and strong willed, and like nature itself she tends to be chaotic, impulsive and untameable. Her unpredictable, unruly and slightly eccentric behaviour means that you can never be quite sure what she’s going to do next. In fact sometimes it’s difficult to say if she’s being very foolish and stupid, or exceedingly clever. At face value, Ivy can sometimes come across as a bit childish, naïve and stubborn in her ways. Or is that all just part of her game…? With this Demi-Goddess of Nature, things are never as straightforward as they seem. Chaotic order, irregularity and contradictions is what the Demi-God Xantara is all about. Sometimes it’s impossible to understand how her mind works - she works on that level of Ordered Chaos.
Of course often than not, Ivy will use reason and appear very rational and reserved, particularly in the presence of other minds not as free-thinking as hers, but for all anyone knows, that could just be her playing along with rationality for her own amusement. It’s often hard to grasp an understanding of Ivy, and people who do try may find themselves in an ‘I Know You Know I Know’ situation, where it’s hard to tell how much Ivy knows, if she’s bluffing, double bluffing, and so on, or if she just makes it up as she goes along. Of course you could just view her as childish and ignorant and leave it at that…but can you really be so sure? It’s these kind of mind games that Ivy loves to mess around with. She finds the human mind a very amusing thing.
Quirks
Ivy is the type of person who will quite happily sit down with her enemies, and have a nice polite conversation with them before killing them. Unfortunately, most people don’t seem to reciprocate her nice manners, and she often finds she has to skip that bit and get straight down to fighting, which Xantara finds a little disappointing. She tends to be quite playful with the way she approaches most things. In fact, if you simply look at her childish side, some may doubt her qualities as a leader…and as a protector of this planet. Some may even wonder what the hell the Gods were thinking, giving a person with Ivy’s disposition the blessing of their power (but hey, she was given the blessing by Gaiana, Goddess of Nature and natural chaos).
However, do mess around with Ivy, and you’ll quickly discover first impressions can be misleading. Ivy Xantara is like nature itself – you really don’t want to get it angry. On the rare occasion you successfully push the wrong buttons, there will be hell to pay. God help (haha) the unfortunate being who pushes Xantara too far. She has the wrath of the gods as much as she has their wisdom.
Ivy also tends to jokingly say that she’s more on an animal person than a people person – perhaps explaining her unusual choice of ‘elite’ soldiers and personal guards. She also has a soft spot for Gatos for this reason – she tends to get along with Gatos better than any other race, even her own. Although this might also be partly down to Gaiana’s influence, what with Gatos being the native residents of the planet, and their connections to the ‘natural’.
Ethics
Her knowledge given by Gaiana means that her morals are on the extreme Chaotic Good side of the spectrum – although even before she was blessed, she was something of a rebel and a free-thinker. She believes every creature has the right to freedom and choice, to live by their own rules, and to think and act of their own accord, as long as it does not harm or suppress others by doing so. She despises those who try to put their values and beliefs onto other people, or suppress others into following orders. Independent and rebellious, she prefers to do things her own way, and may on occasion struggle to co-operate with other people, even if they’re fighting for the same cause. Very much an individual, and although she was never a born leader, she feels in her heart that the Indolentia need her (that and she’s eager to stop this Empire from ruining their lovely planet, and make Mother Nature kick the Undeads so hard up the ass that they’ll limp back off to whatever hellhole they came from). Her heart is always in the right place, and she will do her utmost to help others. All of her actions are in the interest of the planet and its various life forms, and she seeks to return it to the people. Despite her cheeky personality and confidence, she will rarely act selfish or self-centred, and despises those who follow such codes of conduct. She is a person of deep empathy and emotions, and although she might on occasion act cold and merciless, she will never be truly callous or vindictive. She will put others lives before herself, and takes no pride or enjoyment in killing, although she views it a ‘terrible but necessary’ action in some situations. Sometimes the ‘goodness’ of her views can conflict with her chaotic views and vice versa…and no doubt there will be some situations, that a free-spirit such as Ivy will struggle with.
History:
Lady Ivy Evvette Swift was born into a rich aristocratic family. Her mother and father both from two separate well bred Elven clans – her father’s family also being exceedingly prosperous. Ivy grew up with three sisters and one brother, all of them taught the proper etiquette and education they needed to become a success in the world.
However it was clear from a very young age, Ivy acted…differently to the rest of her siblings. The black sheep in the family, Ivy was often mischievous, rude and disobedient, and found the constant discipline and restraint of her family almost unbearable. She hated the unwritten rules of her household, and in protest broke them, sometimes just for the sake of breaking them. Her siblings were often shocked by her ‘outrageous’ behaviour, and if there were any fights in the family, Ivy was always the one to blame. Her parents hoped that maybe, she’d grow out of it…eventually… However as Ivy’s teenage years approached, that looked less and less likely. In fact she came very close to being disowned from her family…but not quite.
By the time Ivy Swift was eighteen, the Empire had invaded. Thankfully Ivy was never one to stick around her family, because one day they simply vanished. Ivy still, to this day, doesn’t know what happened to them (although no guesses as to who was responsible). They all left without a trace…leaving the entire family fortune for her to claim. Despite being so against her family and never getting on with them, Ivy felt…somewhat saddened by the fact they had gone.
However having never been really close to her family, it wasn’t long before Ivy shrugged her shoulders and carried on with her life. The whole world was calling out to the young elf girl, and she wanted to go out there and explore it. She spent her time as a traveller, seeing the world at her leisure. Her inheritance meant that she would not need to worry about financial support, although all the same, Ivy was cautious. She lived in comfort, but kept a low profile, wary of the Empire and fearing that if her family had disappeared, she would be next.
Although Ivy travelled around a great deal, one of her favourite places to visit was Parsarela. She loved the vibe of the city, and often stopped by to chat with the locals. A regular place she often stopped by was the Hallows. She was a regular customer of theirs in fact, often buying potion supplies from them whenever she was in town. That was another family she never heard from again…Ivy was not there at the day of the Purge, but she heard all she needed to hear. The news of the Purge made Ivy very angry. Parsarela had almost been like a second home to her…the city had been more of a family to her than her actual family had ever been. Such spirit, such freedom and liberal-thinking…and now it lay in ruins. She assumed the Hallow family were among the dead, of course. Even if they had survived, the chances of ever finding them again were slim. However she knew that somehow, she would have to find a way of stopping the Empire from ruining any more lives. She just hadn’t worked out how yet.
One day, her travels lead her to the Forest of Memories. She’d heard all the stories of travellers entering and never coming back – in fact it was these kinds of stories which attracted her to the forest in the first place. Ivy Swift was never one to shy away from danger. Mysteries thrilled her, and fear made her determination and curiosity all the stronger.
As she wandered the woods, she couldn’t help but feel she was being…watched.
Quite suddenly, one of the memories in the trees’ reflective surfaces started speaking. Literally, an image of herself took a life of its own, waving and speaking to her. Ivy thought she was hallucinating. Upon seeing her reaction, the copy of herself laughed at her.
“Sorry,” her reflection said, calming down, “But that was just too good an opportunity to miss.” She giggled. “If you would allow me to explain, I am not a being of this existence. What you’re seeing now is my own little projection, a way of communicating to you and explaining how this works. I was going to opt for a talking animal, but then I thought, nah, let’s really scare the shit out of her.” She laughed again. Ivy Swift blinked, having no idea what to make of this strange encounter.
“Oh,” said the image of Ivy, “I forgot to say. I am Gaiana, Goddess of nature, the earth, and natural ordered chaos. This image is not who I am or what I am truly like, but merely something your rational mind won’t reject. I can appear in many ways, and it seems, this was the way you chose. I can’t show myself for complicated reasons, and I’d hate it if I accidently destroyed you.”
“Now to business. I’m here because this forest is neutral grounds, and a place that even the Empire can’t begin to comprehend. I know you want to stop the Empire, and I’m here to help you. I’ve chosen you to be gifted with a generous portion of my power and knowledge. Please don’t ask me why; I really can’t be bothered to think up some sorry rational explanation. But your way of thinking is more open-minded than most, so I’m sure you’ll work it out. Ah, there you go, that’s the reason I picked you. Your mind is similar to mine. Happy?”
“Oh, and more thing. My gifts also have their consequences. But you’ll soon find that out, once I give you my knowledge. With my gift, I also give you, Ivy Evvette, a new name: Ivy Xantara. You are now a protector of the earth and of Exalia.”
Ivy Xantara woke the next day, a much changed individual. The change within her took the phrase a ‘new lease on life’ to a new level. Gaiana had made her a much stronger being, both in powers and a literal sense, and in the soul. The knowledge of Gaiana changed her in a way Ivy could never have imagined. She had, not in the most literal sense, been given immortality and freedom. Freedom in the purest sense of the word. She realised how narrow minded she had been before, and now it was like she could see everything.
Ivy spent the next few years of her life in the Forest of Memories, in isolation, trying to get herself used to this new found power and knowledge. Although, she didn’t exactly spend it in isolation. She had company of the animal kind. Her control over animals was one of the first powers she discovered. The first time a creature of the forest tried to attack her, it backed down almost immediately, as if realising who she was. As a result, Xantara quickly discovered her biggest advantage to having Gaiana’s power here: the untamed loved her. Everything that was natural, wild and free, or longed to be free, dared not touch her. Some even displayed their loyalty to her, protecting her from the powers of the forest that even Ivy herself could not control. And so Lady Xantara lived in the Forest in safety, preparing herself and biding her time, and learning a great many things.
However she knew that she needed to return to the world she had left behind. She started travelling again, as the aristocratic traveller Ivy Evvette Swift. Currently, very few know of her true identity, although quite a few of the Indolentia certainly know who she is…
Hiryu: Doc's bag is a portal. She's actually from another dimension and when she jumped into it, she ended up at a desk with a browser open on this site. That's how she found it.
We have a Doctor Who thread now. Doctor Who threads are cool.
Oh yeah, if she's walking around looking like that... Faus will enjoy this. Very much.
And knowing Faus... Blood's video idea wouldn't really be too far off. Just needs a few other things. Gabe has many tastes...
Edit: And my updated CS.
====
Name: Gabriel Faus
Gender: Male
Race: Undead
Class: High Lord
Age: 1,384
Affiliation: De’Larin Empire
Skills/magic/abilities: ~Skills~ Weapons Master- Faus’ prowess in armed combat is excellent. He has spent his living years learning the skills of every weapon he could. But his true skills are centered upon his sword. In Faus’ hands, the blade is as a living entity all its own.
Shekoga’s Flame- Harnessing the powers of his sword, Faus can create a flaming aura around Shekoga. The flames are rather odd, though, being capable of using energies from various elements. The elements most used, though, are Fire and Lightning. Much as the magical blessing of the Wolf‘s Eye, if Faus cannot wield Shekoga, the power will not exist. The cause of the ability is the sword itself. The ruby-embedded device placed onto the sword focuses the energy of the enchanted jewels to create the power.
~Magicks~ Tarot Magician- Using the card of magical energy, Faus unleashes magic incarnate. He calls down the energy of the world and lets loose a furious wave of magic created from every element of magic. Each one strikes individually with its own attack before all six High Elements have finished their rampage. The attacks used vary from location, but they are always terrible and disastrous. Without Shekoga, only one element can be used with each use of the spell, instead of all at once.
Tarot Chariot- The Chariot. Will and thirst for glory. The power to rise to new heights. With Faus, The Chariot gives form to his inner strength, granting him a second sword to match and oppose Shekoga. Kinomary. A physical clone of Shekoga, with the exception of the pommel and the black jewel within the hilt. The pommel is designed opposite to Shekoga’s locking their ends together to form a large, double-bladed sword. As with the Wolf’s Eye, the Black Wolf’s Eye possesses a secret might that only Faus knows about. As the sword can remain for a long time, the secret can be used at any time. But those who know of the legends of the old king know of a single clue to this great, awe-inspiring, terrible might. As this card grants Faus a gift so great and lasts indefinitely, the drawback results from when he releases the sword. When a battle ends, it is forced away on it own. But once ended, the card’s effect cannot be harnessed for a time of five days.
Tarot Tower- The Tower, representation of fall and turmoil. To go so high and lose all. This card of lose grants Faus with a period of extensive power. Three clones are created that each bear a card all their own resting upon their chests. Each one acts and thinks in accordance with their card. But while the card grants a great benefit, it also carries a drastic consequence similar to its namesake. Should Faus use the card for a total of seven minutes for each battle, the clones turn against him.
Tarot Emperor- The might of true rule rains down upon all usurpers. The Emperor grants Faus an enhanced state of being. In use, it returns Faus to what he once was: a powerful king of amazing strength and speed. The drawback of slow attacks for Undead is lost for some few minutes while Faus is reborn as the great king of old, with magic and power all his own. Only for use once per battle.
Tarot World- The end of the journey began by The Fool. This card is something that Faus himself has yet to use in the presence of others. Reason being that the card has two arcana. Where others are blank upon the back, Faus’ card of The World also bears The Judgment upon the back. Faus has only ever used the side containing The World, but will not relinquish the truth of its effects to anyone. Due to the knowledge, he fears Judgment and keeps the dual card pocketed and in secret somewhere upon his person. The only hint to its might is that Faus, upon having tested it, was different from before. He was more…fearful of his own power.
~Abilities~ Greater Knowledge- To some, knowledge is power. Some know of weapons. Some know of society. Others know strategy. Having been a king, and the king he was, Faus knows all these subjects. Extensively. But something else rests within this man’s mind that he holds dear. A knowledge kept safe as it would destroy most others. Faus has seen a truth untold, and he will hoard it fall all he’s worth. When returned to his old form by The Emperor, Faus embodies this secret. The very knowledge turns his mortal form into something stronger and greater than his undead form. And locked in his mortal form rests a power Faus lost upon death. The knowledge is something only the gods should know. It gave him power, but it killed him.
Appearance: Faus stands at six feet and five inches. His stature and demeanor give of a dominating presence, adding to the effect of his deep, clear voice. He always has an otherworldly feel to him. Faus’s presence alone radiates an unnerving feel of the divine. But true inspection tells of a divine corruption, giving insight upon the cruel soul under all that armor and strength. His helmet is sculpted into the form of a thick, horned, black skull. The teeth of the visage having thin vents between the front teeth to allow sound to pass outwards to better speech. Two horns curving outward from over the ears and moving forward in sharp tips. Two more rise up from the back of the helmet, protruding from the base of the skull. They curve straight up t point into the air, lined with small ridges that spiral up the horns like drills -- same as the other two. The eyes are covered by thin lenses, further hiding the true visage of the creature underneath.
The rest of Faus’ armor consists of a black cuirass with golden trims around the chest. The left breast is emblazoned by a golden lion’s head swooping upward in an arc. His shoulders are covered by black pauldrons with crimson trims, made into three plates. The waist and hips are covered by black faulds with thick tassets that hang onto his thighs. His lower legs are covered by black greaves with golden trimmings that go up the center of the shins. They then carry crimson poleyns that spike out and upward, bolted to the tops of the greaves. This is similar with the sabatons that cover his feet, though they are a bit short and smaller than classic sabatons. A long plate hangs from the front of the faulds, lined with gold bands to create a design in the center of the plate and lines the edges. Faus’ forearms are lastly covered by thick vambraces with crimson lining on the bottom and top, and a design on the center with small, gold bands merged upon the metal. Finally, Faus wears a long cape that’s bolted onto the inside of his cuirass, colored yellow on the inside and red on the outside.
The card reader consists of several different extra pieces of armor placed upon the other parts of Faus’ body. His thighs, abdomen, upper arms, and lower back are all covered by armor with technological equipment within. The system operates by voice command and slots in the proper cards upon demand.
Starting equipment: Tyrant’s Armor-- Faus is most often seen donning his heavy, dark armor. Created from a rare metal, the armor is virtually perfect. For anyone but Faus, any piece a person tries to carry will weigh more than one hundred pounds, no matter what the piece. The metal used to create the armor is a rare ore that Faus himself found. Knowing nothing of crafting, he hired smiths to create a weapon and armor for him from the rare ore.
Shekoga-- A large, single-edged broadsword that curves upward slightly around the middle of the blade. The top near the hilt is jagged and spiked, same as a couple of areas on the edge of the blade. Six inches from the hilt rests a strange mechanism that is adorned with four rubies (two on both sides of the sword's blade). The strange object is made of gold and strangely glows red from the rubies when they're activated. The hilt and blade are made of a strange metal that Faus himself discovered during his time in the mountains. It is harder than any diamond and feels like steel. The hilt is shaped to the form of a wolf's head, with the snout pointing down with the edge of the sword's blade. Within the wolf's eye sockets rests a thin ruby. The grip is made from the same metal as the hilt, but is wrapped by two silk sashes: one deep violet, the other hunter green. The pommel of the grip is strangely shaped and looks as if it was meant to connect with something.
Wolf's Eye-- A strange ruby that possesses powers that are different for each person that uses it. Faus is bestowed with enhanced magical abilities.
Personality: Faus is a calm, uncaring man. His mind is dangerous and as sharp as the edge of his sword. Faus gives off the air of a cruel man of the military. In truth, he is quite frankly a twisted and depraved individual. He seeks power. He believes that only the strong shall rule. And Faus’s aspirations to one day become a living god further boosts his enjoyment of destroying. Despite his cruel, maddened actions of blasphemous sadism, Faus does retain an old sense of honor. He will always accept a challenge to a one-on-one duel and never allow anyone to interfere. Until the battle ends, in fact, he will go as far as to aid the opponent in repelling any other adversary.
History: Faus was born a peasant, residing in an old, forgotten kingdom. In his youth, he worked. He toiled on hours in the fields. He slaved away to aid his family. And in his free time, he trained. Faus, once a man named Gabriel, had a dream to honor his king and country. A dream to become a knight unlike any others before, or any yet to come. He practiced in his younger years, able to wield a claymore as early as nine. He trained with young men from his region who were knights in training. Sparring and exercising. Strengthening himself early to be prepared for the trials he would one day undergo. He could best the trainees -- or, more accurately, recently appointed knights -- all at once with no armor and only using a single longsword. By the age of twelve, he was already skilled beyond his years in combat and practiced with several weapon classes. His swordsmanship excelling beyond that of some experienced veterans.
When he was seventeen, Gabriel attempted the trials. But left of his own accord upon his first visit to the king with other trainees for a speech. His king was a foolish man. His king was fat, dimwitted, and a coward who forced his will upon others. He was not the king that Gabriel wished to serve. Finding his world askew and ruined in a chaotic upheaval, Gabriel set out to venture alone and find a new way for himself. His travels took him far. His journey taking him across the entire globe. His skills improved and his strength surpassed all expectations. He was sought by lords and nobles within each realm he would visit. Tales spreading far by the time he was twenty-three. Stories of his prowess and mastery greater than any other. He became a legend in a time of a few years. None knew him, but knew his name. Known who met the man knew that he was the actual legend in the flesh. He traveled for years, never knowing that his exploits had been turned into such grand mythos.
Gabriel would be twenty-eight before he would set foot upon his homeland once more. His years of fighting and searching taking its toll. Monsters and villains -- demons and devils alike had sought to turn chaos upon the world, but all were slain by Gabriel’s sword. In his travels, he had discovered a location none before had found. He had stumbled upon a substance that was light and sturdy to the touch, but harder than any other material known. Gabriel carried an armor of white, blue, and gold. Carrying a sword wrapped in cobalt blue and pristine white sashes. He had become a holy warrior for the world and greater than any knight ever was. The world itself was better for his presence. Even the beasts of the dark spoke of him in their crooked tongues. Heralding tragedy to all who would seek to do harm to his world. Gabriel was a name known to all as the holy warrior of unmatched skill and prowess. His strategies and knowledge unreal, and his skill in the magicks never before seen by any outside of the elves and other secreted races.
Within his once prosperous homeland, Krimlo, Gabriel found that corruption and horror ran the streets. The king, while never being a likable man, had never been controlled. Criminals ran things after the long years. Had he stayed, Gabriel likely would have been tainted and turned by the times and made a force as despicable and sad as all those left in Krimlo. His family was long dead. Having never had the money to pay debts to the crooks, and never having the skills themselves to fight them off. Gabriel wasted no time and sat upon Krimlo like a force of Nature. He ruined the crooks and thieves. Turning their riches into dust while making the good citizens the rich and powerful. The king, now too old and fat to ever move again, was puppeted about like a marionette by the most loathsome of corrupt politicians and heinous of criminals. They did not give up their golden goose without blood. And blood they had to spend. They were made an example of, and all others who sought to do crime were scared away from Krimlo. Gabriel had restored his home and returned it to glory.
As thanks, the king gave up his throne. He bestowed rule upon Gabriel and left with his spoiled family of depraved miscreants. Gabriel was at first opposed and did not think himself properly suited to the role. But, he was home. And his people needed him, or else the filth would likely return. The citizens were unable to handle such things after years of strife. So, then did Gabriel take the throne and set upon Krimlo a new rule. The following years were slow and the process hard. But with time, the kingdom became a glorious land. His just mind and aspiring ideals boosted relations with other lords. Before long, others who had long ago heard the tales of Gabriel began to wish service under the righteous king. Lords who sought to keep power for themselves were overthrown. Coups in the name of true justice arose all over, spreading out Gabriel’s reach to all corners of human society.
Many years of conflict passed as the king sought to end the bickering and strife. His words preached for peace and harmony, but those lusting for might only strengthened their resolve. But the people knew who they wanted to follow. By the time Gabriel was thirty-nine, nearly all the great nations had conceded their borders to his own and granted him divine dominance and rule. Gabriel was seen as a king of kings. A holy man of justice who reigned in a time of unity among all the countries. He had a loving wife, strong of will and knowledgeable of political matters. Where the king could not masterfully govern, his queen aided the matters. Their children, raised in royalty but taught true discipline and nobility in life, a shining beacon of things to come for the future rule. It seemed the peace and glorious times would never end. And, certainly, none wished them to.
But all good things must come to an end…
Gabriel’s eldest son, Abel, had been raised properly. He was taught all that was needed of a future king. He was granted all he required to be a true prince. But, he was arrogant. His youth only added further dilemma to the arrogant prince. His noble father passed on at the age of sixty-four, years before his time due to the early years of his ventures. It seemed that, during his travels, he had come in contact with a rare plant that had slowly been decreasing his heart rate. Where he had been thought able to live on until he was in the hundreds, he had died decades too soon for his people’s sake. All the world mourned the passing of their greatest king. The celestial monarch of holy dynasty, High King Gabriel, had died. Buried in Krimlo beneath his divine, pristine castle, he took his armor of holy white, and his great sword Shekoga to his grave. Thousands, if not millions, were in attendance in Krimlo as the queen sang at the king’s funeral. It was said that cherubs and angels of all the world and the heavens above watched, weeping before the solemn beauty and sadness of the queen’s words.
In the coming years, Abel would take the throne. The people, hoping their best, served him as best they could. The boy was not as talented as his father had been. He did not have the prowess nor skills Gabriel had possessed. He did not carry legends in his name. And he carried no blade that could strike fear into the most vile of creature. The ancient evils arose… Demons and monsters, once held at bay by the righteous glory of Gabriel, now pushed out their wickedness into the world. Abel, having never seen true darkness, knew nothing of keeping the evil away. The smaller regions of the world went first. Succumbing to corruption and fear. Fear that they would be lost without their glorious king. Corrupted by the sweet whispers of the demonic who granted them some peace in death before wearing their skin to plague the lands in terror.
Monsters and beasts, long forbidden from encroaching upon the surface, awoke with a ravenous and terrible hunger. Years of biding their time and gathering strength had made the creatures too powerful. Armies dwindled to naught but ash before the flames of the chaos. Greater fiends from the deepest pits howled and screamed with glee as the world slowly sank into a perpetual darkness…
Then the great king returned.
An army of the divine shone down as the waves of darkness began to surround the castle in the heart of Krimlo. A bright beacon sounded by the call of a single trumpet. Winged warriors rode down from the clouds, lead in charge by a man in white, wielding a sword that all the fell demons knew as fear made real for their ilk. High King Gabriel rushed down upon feather glory and cleaved his way into the front lines of the massive demon hoard. The largest of the terrors crumbled before him. The creatures, in their accumulated arrogance, had placed their most destructive numbers at the lead. The demons, sized as large as some cathedrals, crumbled and burned in the holy might of Gabriel’s initial strike. The angelic forces in tow then set upon the massive, numberless armies. More and more the golden light of The Above shined upon the great castle. Here the angels focused, using the majestic and monumental structure as their base fort. Where others had once thought the castle was only a decoration, the grand abode was now used. Truly, it was as if Gabriel had known it would be needed decades ago when he order its construction.
Some several odd years passed as the dueling armies fought for supremacy. Both sides abound by humans possessed by the most celestial of holy and putrid of beings. Evil and Good, at war in the most literal form. Flames consumed the farthest lands, scorching the land of Eden. What was once a mountainous region of plush life having no equal, now flourished in ash and sand as a wild desert. The first great nation of desert of the world. Though Gabriel and his holy forces could not be pushed back, nor then could they in turn chance spreading their forces out further. Only the region of Krimlo itself was held by the glory of The Above.
Many had died in the battles. Gabriel’s own son, though, had been dead before the struggles began. Soon after the forces of the demonic had set out upon the world, the boy had ran away. Succumbing to his own fears and taking his life in secret. The first prince had died long ago when the war began to show some change. Gabriel took the field again as a new wave of forces charged in. They were led by a great beast. A large, minotaur of a creature led the assault. It most resembled parts of a man and bull, but truly was more demon than could be properly understood. What could be reasoned of its presence though was the large battle axe it carried. Cain. The others of the army cheered the demon’s name. As the forces collided, Cain and Gabriel met. The initial clashing of sword and axe released such a force that the first line of both their units were destroyed entirely by their raw power. The beast and man did then wage a terrible war within the armies of Good and Evil.
For several days the two fought with no rest in sight. Never a one landing a single blow for chance the other would end the fight there. But even after six days did they show no fatigue. It was a spectacle that both armies gave awe toward. While the troops fought, they kept a constant circle of distance from the two. Any closer than thirty yards was enough for any of the others to simply become mindless in the wake of the power they wielded. But, on the seventh day, it all came to an end…
The victor stood high atop a hill. Bodies and blood all about as his blade rested within the throat of his adversary. The armies in frozen pause at the revelation of the event. One army cheered and pushed on, the other force being pressed back as morale took a heavy plummet and wills began to drain. Cain released a heavy cry as Gabriel let loose his roaring scream. Gabriel’s head quickly left his neck as the axe drove down to earth below. Steaming lava arose as the blade cut into dirt. Flames rising all around as Hell itself awoke in the glory of his victory. Both warriors were swallowed up, pulled down into the darkest bowels of evil. One returning home with a trophy for his great lord.
It is here that the legends speak of the Great Change. Upon the interference of the master of Hell, the great creator, highest of celestial beings smote down the warring forces. Angel and demon alike vanished as the world was returned to the reigns of mortals. Gabriel, taken to the chasms of the pits, was tortured and taunted. Haunted by the truth of his lose. His home. His world. Not knowing of the divine intervention, Gabriel howled in fury at the lose of his former kingdom. Flames and whips cracked upon his flesh without even touching his armor. The bright blue trims turning crimson with his endless splatters of blood. The fires turning the pristine white to dark onyx. The ebony tone gave way to the corruption as Gabriel became twisted. One day, when visited upon by the demon that bested him, Gabriel let out a maddened rage. He jumped the beast, ravenous and hungry for vengeance. He tore through flesh and bone with nothing but his fingertips. He basked in the crimson glory as his mouth cackled in glorious welcome to meat. As heart muscle slowly fell through his throat, the demon’s dark master spoke within Gabriel’s mind. There and then, his mind was pushed over the edge. His torment and torture over the years was let out by Cain. His world was still whole and returned to the control of man decades ago. And the creature he had destroyed and feasted upon… The demonic soul he ate was formerly human.
Cain had once been Abel, his own son.
Tales abound that Gabriel was destroyed by the power of knowledge in that lightless pit. His corruption so absolute that he even sought to rule Hell itself. Crazed beyond all understanding, his mind of vast intellect turned into a well of the most disturbing atrocities and acts. Deprived and decayed. Faus was born. The holiest of warriors corrupt. The truth that Abel had tortured him for so long by order and dragged his father to Hell. That the last remains of his eldest boy’s heart resided in his own gut. That his rage had been for naught as his home was fine. And his people had forgotten him.
A king. A holy man. A righteous soul twisted and violated in the worst of ways. What was once the greatest of heroes and the most benevolent of rulers, now shaped into a creature so sick and disgusting that Hell spat him up for his insolent capacity and love for pain. After all, how could you torture a soul, eternal and absolute, that had consumed his own son and lost everything he had ever held dear. How could you harm a being who now enjoyed all manner of pain… Blood excited it. Fear aroused it. Pain tickled it. And hope… Yes, hope did nothing. What could be done? Faus was sealed in his bones.
Nothing… For years, residing in a purgatory under dirt and wood. The grounds above the only remnants of his once glorious kingdom. Now, not a brick stood that gave mark to the ancient castle. And truth… The truth of the legends and myths are lost. Was Krimlo ever real? Was Gabriel ever a real king? What was the origin of this twisted creature that aspires to usurp the greatest of evils?
Not even Faus himself can tell what is truth anymore. All he has left is the knowledge. Knowledge of a life basked in glory. Knowledge of a home forever gone. Knowledge of a world that gave birth to such a disgusting being.
And the knowledge passed to him from Heaven and Hell both…
Didn't see any mention of the Empire's name from the last RP. So, pretty much added the two new categories, changed up his Theme, and he's starting out as carrying Slip's bot around.
(I've already discussed this with Doc)
Name: "Hallow" Jace (No surname)
Gender: Male
Race: Parnex (Ex-Gato)
Class: Partner unit and stealth soldier for unit E2CX
Age: 18
Affiliation: De'larin Empire
sub-group: Weapons Research and Military Science Division (Now serving as a guest operative under the 501st but not officially affiliated with them)
Skills:
Personnel Experimental Background Discoloration (PEBD)- This is the personnel version of the camo MIR uses, it had been grafted into the armor Jace has, but due to some issues over power (MIR being as big as he is, power was never a problem for him) a unit had to be emplacement into his head along with some other computerized parts. But unlike the camo MIR's uses, Jace's is quite fast, turning in a mere matter of seconds rather then minutes, not only this, the camo also suppresses any electromagnetic interference it gives off. But of course, as with all camouflage stealth units heat is not diminished, only suppressed.
Electronic Cranial Interface (ECI) - due to the nature of his death, part of Jace's head had to be replaced, or in this case, substituted with an electrical device that not only restored functioning to the part of the bran that had been damaged (the cerebellum) but also served as a sort of on-board computer. Jace is only slightly a cyborg. The interface allows Jace the same level of communication and data MIR does. in fact, the two are supposed to be in constant communication with each other at all times. what MIR can see Jace can see, what Jace can see MIR can see. If MIR finds anything of value he can transmiti it directly to Jace allowing to to be displayed on his HUD. Another thing to note is that Jaces computer and his suit are also in communication with each other, connected by a direct line, from a small port embedded in the back of his head.
Explosive knowledge - Due to his past memories, Jace is extremely good at identifying substances, especially those having to do with explosives. Along with this is the ability to make such explosives, although HQ usually gives him whatever he needs, Jace can disarm almost any sort of bomb, he can also set up almost any type of bomb. Not only this, he has the mind of a bomber, he knows exactly where to hide said bombs, as said before, like a mad-bomber. Jace can also modify any preexisting bomb, to be harder to disarm. As meticulous as a doll-maker.
Chemical Knowledge - Much like the above, Jace is good with chemical and chemical making, although he hasn't messed with any in a long time, considering his new position in the empire does not really require it. Advanced chemical knowledge in the Empires codex were directly loaded into Jaces head - (Same with explosives)
Survivalist - This is due in part, again, because of his previous memories, along with some more memories to solidify the inner survivor in him even more. Such an ability is quite good, especially for someone who's job is to be on the field for long persiods of time.
Gato/Parnex - Jace already had the speed, sense and agility of a Gato, now he has the power of a Parnex stacked on top of that, but he also gets the Parnex strength which is something Gatos are normally lacking in.
Appearance: Jace certainly looks different, from before he was turned. something about him suggests one tainted by the Undeads. His skin is a little dark, as well as some slight dark spots under his eyes. Other then this, Jace looks exactly like he did, and still does. Standing at 6'1, Jace normally wears the stealth armor issued to him by the science wing, along with the helmet. His armor is the normal recon variety (with Gato modifications, the tail), less armor plating, but more movement and agility, better aiming with the rifle, but it has some electrical upgrades, like his ECI. Underneath the helmet, his hair is silvery and messy (helmet hair after-all) with some brownish,yellowish eyes, with the usually slit-iris of most Gatos. His tail sticks out of his suit, works as a tail would, for balance, has everything else a normal gato would. The hand-gloves on the suit are pointed allowing for his gato claws to stick out when needed. His tail is a solid grey. The helmet of his suit had two pyramids near the top, where his gato ears would be, this is where any sound is transmitted too. A handsome face, even for a gato, although being covered in armor half- the - time doesn't help much.
Starting Equipment:
Recon Armor version G-SE2 - The G stands for "Gato" the E2 stands for "experiment 2" and the S for stealth. The suit works in unison with Jace's electrical system as well as MIR's. The suit is a varient for snipers only, as their is less armor plating, to allow more room for the stiffening agent. This is a special ability that, when initiated by the user, the entire suit stiffens up allowing for precise shots at the cost of mobility. Takes some time to warm up and ware off, but can be used for some extremely long-range shots, boosted even further by MIR's tracking system. The out surface of the armor is the camouflage part, as explained earlier.
ZFXG ballistics rifle - A smaller version of the weapon MIR uses, but follows the same process. However, unlike MIR's the barrel cannot be expanded or shrunk, not only this, the rifle itself is quite large and heavy. At 6 and a half-feet and 86 lbs. it is carried on MIR's back, near the wheels. such a heavy weapon is not all to cumbersome for Jace, with the strength of the Parnex Jace could fire the gun while standing, although not accurately, and certainly not stably. The most Jace can do is carry it where he needs, but for long trips, it stays on MIR. MIR carries the ammunition for it, which comes in two, regular FMJ and HE rounds (a grenade sized explosion)
Empire standard silenced- pistol - a bare-bones pistol. Everyone in the empire has one, nothing special about this at all (although, not everyone has a silenced pistol). When not using the rifle Jace uses this pistol, while holding the knife in the fore-grip. It may just be a pistol, but in the hands of someone capable enough it can be a very deadly weapon indeed.
Misc - 2 Fragmentation grenades, along with 2 flashbangs, and one grenade fresh off the experimental table. An anti-matter grenade. When it explodes a small vortex is created sucking in all matter and/or elements. The vortex size is about that of a typical grenade. And an empire standard combat knife.
Personality - Jace's personality is quite similar from what it used to be, although there has been some minor changes. The scientist were keen on the fact that Jace appeared to be very anti-De'larin, so they removed a few memories that painted the empire in a bad light (nothing too big, only small incidents) but they noticed that due in part to his history he still would have some hate towards the empire. So they implanted some false memories, about soldiers giving them food while on the street, or some who ended up saving them when they had gotten mugged. Small trivial things like that, that eventually changed his jurisdiction towards the empire to eager neutral. They could not get at memories over what was assumed to be Jace's little sister, so they simply left it alone. Jace's mind itself has been shaped due in large part to his partner MIR. At first Jace had simply been the hotblooded person he was before, and had been on the verge of attempting to escape, but having spent enough time with the large robot Jace has come to accept much of his teachings, and in fact, looks up to MIR as a sort of brother. the two are nearly inseparable. Jace has calmed down a bit, but ever so often his hot-blooded nature seeps back out, but for the most part Jace is a perfect embodiment (at leasts now anyway) of "go with the flow" that and he believes he does owe the empire somewhat, considering they brought him back to life, and he has a nice job now that's entertaining and pays well. Jace does not mind killing, he never has, he would have joined the rebels just to get at the empire, but nolllllw that he sees it (or thinks it) it seemed he wanted to join simply because he wanted to kill, and the easiest way, would have been joining the rebels. But now he's learned, MIR's taught him a lot, he's opened his eyes. But he has this nagging feeling in the back of his head that he should be searching for something, although he has no idea who. MIR's attitude on making mischief has rubbed off quit a alot on Jace, you'll longer find that Jace is quite as serious as he was before.
History - Jace hardly remembers anything about his death, and not because of the scientists either. All he remembers is a searing pain in the back of his head and then waking up on a medical bed, his mind a mixture of fuzzy details and other things reorganizing themselves. The entire ordeal of dieing and waking had seemed to have lasted him only a few minutes, but from what the doctors said Jace had been out for nearly an entire year. They then took him into another room and briefed him on the situation. At first Jace had been angry, but then he quickly realized that being alive was better then being dead, even if Jace wasn't really a Gato anymore, he didn't really mind it. Just anything to get away from what his previous life had been like. Jace was still angry over the empire causing his parents death and for the most part still wanted some form of revenge, and besides it seemed like the empires scientists were more interested in knowledge then empirical conquests, that and the majority of them being rather nice fellows softened up Jace. So he bit his tongue in silence for the next 6 weeks under training, he could put his beliefs aside for two months. Due to the memory implants by the scientist Jace's training went y rather quickly, and most of it was used to test the suit and rifle unit. Jace was then shipped out with MIR, for the start of their partner-ship. MIR was an interesting case, Jace had at first been confronted with what appeared to be a cold impersonal box of steel, but he was then blown away by the robot's extreme good wit, in a certain incident that had Jace rolling around on the ground in laughter. After being chastised by the scientists on being professional. It seemed Jace was being pulled further and further away from both the Empire and his revenge, and was instead being pulled more towards the "faction" of science, Jase had learned quite alot with the science wing of the empire. It wouldn't be long before Jase abandons such trivial pursuits inorder to "live out this grand life" as MIR would say. But that's only his inner beliefs, on the outside he's still professional. So Jace doesn't really mind that he's going to be killing Rebel's, it's all for experience anyway. Oh and unlike MIR, Jase is working under the 501'st as a guest operative, Jase receives orders from the 501'st command like most of their elite field operatives already do, having spent a year with them already, they should know how capable Jase is.
Starting Point - Being transported with MIR and Faus
Theme Song: Night_eyes
Battle Song: Rog Limitation
That number's about to go up. . .
Oh and Doc, MIR is a mechanical unit, so your demi-god couldn't technically sense his presence, right? Considering machines normally don't give off auras of any kind.
Oh...I'm starting to feel really bad for Mystara now.
Oh and no, Ivy wouldn't be able to detect MIR as a machine, although...technically speaking, she might be able to sense things such as the electric currents running through him, or the fuel or whatever he runs on, since those elements are natural, and in a sense, 'alive'.
But even if she could sense MIR was there (through the above), like everything else, she would only know that 'something' was there in the area, she wouldn't be able to see him or detect his whereabouts. Plus, what with MIR being a machine, she might dismiss it as being a powerline somewhere or some other non-threatening man-made device.
Hiryu: Doc's bag is a portal. She's actually from another dimension and when she jumped into it, she ended up at a desk with a browser open on this site. That's how she found it.
We have a Doctor Who thread now. Doctor Who threads are cool.
