Ethan grunted as he stood up and faced the pirates as they ran up to the group. Why was it that trouble seemed to strike whenever something went their way for once? "Why, what happened?" He suddenly stiffened, a thought occurred to him. "Did my-, did Kathrin escape?!" What else could have possibly happened? Hector and...the other pirate looked like they had been running for some time, there was no way that Salathra's other minions could be directly connected with this. The assassin knelt down to help the man to his feet. He had no love of the thugs, but there was no point in not showing any of them some common decency as long as they remained against Salathra's plague.

"By the gods, how long have the two of you been running?"

“Too damn fucking long...” Pirate gasped, standing at the assistance of Ethan, nursing a painful stitch in his side. Hector was bent double, resting on his knees, “The Red Dragon is gone...”
“Destroyed” Pirate chimed in.
“Guther’s Crew.... Wearbeasts.... all of them...” Hector continued still panting as he drew out a flask, and took a long drink before handing the flask over to Pirate.
“Captain couldn’t handle that many, the ship had been overrun... A whole crew of werebeasts of every type... we didn’t stand a fucking chance” Hector looked furious, accepting his flask off of Pirate he continued, “They took the Captain, Mistress Jocelyn, young Captain Warren, and Kathrin.... The bastards emptied the stores, there was nothing left, and then set the Red Dragon Alight...”

“Someone else had to know...” Pirate explained, “We were on the shore, the two of us couldn’t have done anything.... it was a butchery...” His fists were clasped tightly, like he believed he should have swam to the ship to be slaughtered with the fellows he called friend.

Amber had gone pale, her hand finding Garath’s, she was at a loss for words.

Mine and Timer's Untold Story

It had taken Gor'fek several attempts while he tried to aplogize to The Great Maw after all it was partially his fault for eating something that befouled and rotten. Even ogres and their hungry deity have their standards when it comes to food.

Gor'fek got the impression that his god had a very sensitive taste, so it likely knew what had corrupted the arm Gor'fek so eagerly ate. Or at least that's what the ogre figured, who knows what goes through the mind of a deity.
"Does Pirate know where, chief of that-called-Red-Dragon was taken?" Gor'fek asked, though some of his words seemed hilariously gurgled due to the swelling around his face. Bloodbrand had definaitely gotten a couple solid shots in before the coward run. "Hurh, Gor'fek think he not eat tiny-taste-bad-man. But Gor'fek still roast him. Maybe that-called-fire make him feel beter because he taste bad... No ogre or troll will eat him."

Erederis was chewing on a piece of bread, he was surprised to see Hector and the pirate came looking for them. The two then explained that the Red dragon was attacked, and Siren and his family were captured. It was a surprise to Erederis because now they had one more thing to deal with. The party still needed some items that they didn’t have, so they would eventually need to make a decision on what to do next. Erederis said, “So then what do we do, we still have items we need to get, so are we going to try and save them or continue the quest.”

At the pirates appearance and frantic manner, Garrath's heart sank. He listened to Hector with increasing dread, the enemy had been a step ahead of them this time. He felt Amber's hand slip into his again and let her take it.

"We have to save them. We could continue the journey without them, but somehow I don't think that's a good idea." He said thinking back to the battle on the ship. " During the battle on the ship, the pirates had gone straight after the Captain's son. If he has anything at all to do with their plans, it would be wise to rescue him. We already know they are directly opposed to us. Any plan they have at all is worth disrupting. But it's not my call. I'll do whatever the group decides."

"The only runaway is me, Cinthe, 'member?" Severus said softly, smiling at her. She was exactly as he remembered her, healthy and happy: her hair was shiny and soft-looking, her eyes lively and bright and her smile was friendly and large. What trail is this? the teen wondered, But I will enjoy seeing her. Severus leaned against her as he ate.
