But... but... the history is the easy part, the funnest part of creating the character.

It's the least fun part for me, personally I like the appearance section the most, that and figuring out what my character will carry.
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

For me, the personality has always been fun. I love creating quirky characters :D

The powers, the skills, the abilities, the weapons, and the history are my favorites. The part, I despite is the personality, I like to see how he evolves, and that section makes me feel, limited.

Yeah, names suck.

Which is why a lot of my creations manage to go unnamed :/

I usually end up giving my characters a sorta weird first name, then a somewhat mundane last name.

And my favorite part of character creation would probably be equipment and powers, because that's where I can come up with some really cool stuff, and I enjoy making up technologies which, far-fetched as they may be, actually sound plausible.

I use a baby names book to come up with names for my characters, I tend to be partial to names that start with the letter ‘m’.

I look around at random things near me and try to find names from that, either that or think of what the character looks like...or looks the least like. Hehe

In order of most fun to least fun, for me:
  1. History
  2. Powers
  3. Name
  4. Race (If only because I START by choosing one)
  5. Personality

I find it difficult to confine myself to a personality because if my character is written a way contrary to my own way of thinking, I find myself wracking my brain on how they would act given a situation.

The personality isn't so bad for me since even if you do start with a personality that doesn't favor your normal character, that leaves more room for you to develop the character into something better later on.

Hm... hey Sam, if it's alright, perhaps you could try drawing Arca as well? If you decide to have a go at it, feel free to contact me on MSN if you've got any questions about her. I might also be on AIM from time to time, but not very often.

Geh. Theres a reason why I dont make many female characters. I know absolutely nothing about woman's clothing and I stink at describing them.

lol I've never made a guy character because I don't understand you guys most of the time.
-Wait, that's a lie. I've made guy characters, and then decided that they should never see the light of my computer screen XD

Cue the "HEY SAM DRAW ME TOO!!" spam.

That does remind me though, I noticed most of you either don't have AIM/MSN or don't have it listed. If you would contact me with that info I'd appreciate it since I'd like to have it available in case we needed to discuss RP scenarios quickly.

You can go straight in actually and remember that most of the people are sharing rooms.
Mine had Jake being invisible up till now, the fights, tests and everything.

Actually Mac none of the new guys were assigned rooms. If you look at the message Maddness sent us we went straight from the initiation test to the mess hall.

Well, I'll wait and see what Maddness has to say on it. Don't want to rush in without knowing exactly what I'm doing. XD

EDIT: Yep, know what I'm doing now. Time for Romana to make her enterance...soon-ish :)

You know, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I don't wanna knock on anyone's education or anything, but I don't think this has ever really been taught in any decent English class, so...

...would of...

Isn't correct. Consider the contraction:

...would've...

That's contracting "would" and "have". "Would of" is just silly.

I don't mean to offend anyone. I just wanted to put that out.
