Fairy tail RP


The world is set in a reality where magic can be mastered by everyone from the young to the old and infirm. The world knows peace and hardship in unison but its people do not quake in fear at the unknown because everyone serves a purpose and is willing to defend themselves. Some magic is just for show, some magic serves practical uses, while others are more destructive. Those who have learned a destructive magic often find themselves working along side others with similar talents as part of a guild, an organization built around comrades and friends looking to train their magic to the next level by taking on jobs from all over the world for cash as well as the experiences involved with completing a mission.
Every guild has a Guild Master which more often than not is a very powerful and well respected mage. Through them, you are given a rank within the guild and allowed to take jobs off the coresponding job board located within the guild halls. This system is in place to protect rookies from taking extremely dangerous and often life threatening missions on accident.
Each guild ranks its members thusly:

S Rank: Well trained and highly skilled magi capable of adapting to various tasks and missions, while still having the ability to survive most any deadly encounter that may occur. Highly respected and few in number.

A Rank: Though not as well trained or experienced as the S ranked counterparts, these magi are still very skilled in their field of expertise, offering quality work and a dedication to their magic that a true master needs.

B Rank: Experienced in many ways, this category is reserved for those who have learned more than the mere basics of a variety of magic at their disposal, as well as other skills developed from working for their guild.

C Rank: More than a fledgling but less than a master, this category is often given to new recruits who have worked for other guilds before. Dependable in certain situations and versed in magic they are the most basic of a guilds populace.

E Rank: A rookie if ever there was one. Though some in this rank show potential, it is never more than exactly that. Potential. To do well and earn a spot at the table, these begginners work tirelessly within the guild hall to keep it operating smoothly. Despite the low ranking on the lists, these are some of the most respected men and women out there. Striving for greatness continuously.

Types of magic;
The fairy tail universe boasts an abundance of magical spells and a nigh infinite amount of types available, from a simple conjuring of water to the fiery roar of an ancient red dragon. Obviously to get these powerful spells one must be trained and ready to face the hardships needed to not only understand the magic they wield, but to respect its uses.
With great power comes the responsibility to use it for the good of others. (Sadly there are some who see otherwise.)
Though the magic of this universe is so vast, there are still those who see some parts of it as evil. Those who have suffered at the hands of darker magics often resent those who use it, so be wary of what you learn. It could cost you an ally when you need it most.

But that is not to say that everyone dislikes a mage who dabbles in the 'darker' arts. Many are not so close minded, and share the common belief that magic in itself is neither good nor evil by its nature. It simply is what it is.

Create your own type of magic to suit your tastes.

Story-wise: For this RP I am hoping to involve the main idea of why everyone loves the fairy tail world. It is the combat. The honor-bound and powerful need to overcome and grow strong, be it for yourself or your loved ones, it all comes down to strength.
There will be no 'master villain' here. There will be only us players and the missions you undertake to make your living, However you choose to do so!

Create your own guild, be a part of someone elses guild (if they allow you in, that is) or be the one hosting a tournament in the city! With magic at your disposal anything is possible to create a scenario that you and your opponent can spar in.
If another player expresses a desire, you can have them give your own character a mission and they will be the master of that part of the story. Thats right! Everyone can be the GM if another player wants them to be.

That all being said, I want everyone to understand that while you have creative control over any story you create or tournament you host, I would like to be kept up to date on anything major you do. There is such a thing as going overboard on this.

Dark guilds are generally violent crime guilds. Though sometimes they are vigilante based.
Military guilds focus on large threats to their towns security, usually taking on dangerous requests.
Friendly guilds are just as the name would imply. Friendly and happy guilds full of people looking to make lasting friends.
Neutral guilds are none of the above. They do not take requests for adventures but instead usually focus around work orders, such as a crafting guild would.

Members: (Infinite, but be reasonable)

Guild hall: (Just describe how big the guild building is, any special features of it, and where it is located vaguely. Ex; Located near the weapon district or Located on the outskirts of town.)

Age: 24

Appearance: Aquilla is tall and thin, with bronze skin, long red hair she keeps in a braid (with a leather strap set with various crystals threaded through), sharp features and grey eyes. She covers her lean muscles with a long-sleeved cotton shirt (in a muted colour such as navy blue, dove grey, or cream), a black leather vest over the shirt covered with pockets (usually filled with various crystals and other useful items), and brown leather breeches. Her weapons rest on a thin grey belt holding many knife hilts (with crystals set where the blade would normally go) at each side and a braided leather whip threaded through with various wires and crystals holstered in the back, and she also wears a wide copper cuff bracelet set with even more crystals on each wrist.

Personality: Aquilla is a rather reserved person, who will keep her cool when confronted with just about anything. However, she does have something of a touchy temper, which mostly flares up when somebody is being stupid. She's willing to help other people out as long as it doesn't hinder her goals, or if she's just bored, but she's always looking out for number one. She also has a philosophy of trying to downplay her strengths (except when trying to get hired, of course), to try to preserve the element of surprise.

Guild: Formerly of the Sunhawk Strikers
Guild rank: B

History: Aquilla joined the Sunhawk Strikers at an early age, to gain an opportunity to train and expand her magic. As the Sunhawks dealt mostly with skirmishes and assassinations, she got plenty of training on the physical side of things (how to fight, sneak, and survive in the wild, as well as increasing her strength, speed, and endurance), but not much opportunity to expand her magical abilities; the Sunhawks believed in focusing magic to one area and increasing that skill to perfection rather than encouraging jacks of all trades. As such, Aquilla worked her way to B rank before deciding she was bored of the politics and missions, and left on peaceful terms to go find opportunities to learn and grow.

Magic: Aquilla's magic is light based; she can manipulate any existing source of light (the stronger the light, the stronger the effects, of course) to take a physical form (a blade or a shield, for example). However, she cannot do anything immaterial with light (make illusions, project flares of light elsewhere, etc), and she has to base her light materialization in a crystal of some sort (the more pure the crystal, the better). But for when she has to work on a cloudy day or at night, she can store light inside her crystals (which is why she carries as many on her person as she can afford).


I have not actually watched or read Fairy Tails, so if I need to change anything to fit more into the vibe let me know ^.^

Appearance:Marcus is a male of average height and average build with toned muscles from martial arts, he has a mop of soft blond hair on his head and a leather belt wrapped around his waist. He has slightly pointed ears and a set of crystal blue eyes; his body is covered by a white shirt with gold trim across the edges of the sleeves and a raised collar that wraps around his neck but opens up slightly in the front. He has a pair of black pants that are stuffed neatly into a set of brown leather boots and he wears arm guards and a pair of metal plates over his knee caps and elbows.

Personality:Marcus is a fun loving person who is there to help his friends when they need it, that said, he is no stranger to the dangers of the world and has an intuition when it comes to other's lies. When in battle, Marcus is quick and decisive with his blows, knowing that holding back can lead to more destruction than taking pity, that said, he can show mercy when he knows it's for the best.

Guild: Broken Star
Guild rank: A

History: Before Marcus began life as a freelance magi, he and his sister had been orphans taken in by a troupe of mages that practiced martial arts and did good deeds (like taking in orphans). The troupe's mission was to seal away and protect a dark and powerful armor that in, the wrong hands, could cause terrible destruction. Marcus and his sister agreed to help the cause and in return, the two siblings gained a family; after ten years of learning and peace, disaster struck.

On a cold winter night, the troupe was attacked by a group of bandits bent on stealing the armor for themselves; they raided the group while they made their way through the forest, the magi never saw it coming, in a last pitch effort, Marcus let the armor into his body and obliterated the bandits...but he couldn't save his sister. The troupe, with great regret, threw Marcus out for committing the greatest crime against their belief, he used the armor darker than night and his body was no longer pure.

Marcus left, not having anything more to keep him there; he soon found himself in need of work and joined up with a guild of people like him, people who were abandoned (Broken Star). He fought with them, ate with them, and in time he found that though things would never be the same, it could still be alright.

Magic:The Black Armor: Marcus's magic is an equip type, he can freely summon different parts of the ancient armor sealed inside his body. This can range from the gauntlets to the chest plate, all of it is enhanced with powerful magic that can be released in destructive bursts. There are a few draw backs; the armor, while powerful, is a strain on the body, so while he can freely summon parts of it (a gauntlet for a punch, the helmet for a head-butt or a leg to kick things) summoning the entire set of armor can cause serious fatigue to the point of fatality.

Appearance: Standing at 5'10 with an athletic build of a gymnast, tan skin like the sands of the desert , chocolaty eyes, and jet black hair. She can always be found with a smile on her face and a blush in her cheeks. Inside multiple pockets and sides of clothing she carries brushes no bigger than a dagger. On her back an extremely large brush, easily the size of a broomstick, not counting the tip.

Personality: Maria is a merry drunkard, with a smile as wide as she is drunk. Always upbeat and ready for anything that promises excitement, Maria never shows any signs of worry or fear, only anticipation and excitement at the next challenge standing in her way. When drunk (and that's pretty often) she can be very flirtatious and loud.

Guild: (Formally) Red Crescent

Guild rank: Originally A rank, then demoted to B-rank for what she calls "A huge misunderstanding"

History:
Maria might have had a different life, if she hadn't run away from it. Maria came from a privileged family, not rich mind you, just very wealthy, a worry about getting by this family never had. In this family was one of three daughters, Maria, the middle child. Maria had practically inherited the title of black sheep when she was born, she would start fights with the younger kids, and hated dressing nice and doing her hair up like her other sisters did.

When her parents found her talent for art and her use of magic, even though at the time they were only drawings of ships sailing that had , once exposed to her magic become more of a 2-d bowl with a chip in it than a ship on water, her parents could see the child had talent for someone so young.

They sent her away with an instructor to become an artisan, and for many years she learned the arts, as well as the basic forms of education. And Maria would practice her own arts when her master wasn't around.

Maria, at the age 17 decided she had had enough, and decided to set out for the world of adventure she had longed for, but she was a girl of privilege and had a hard time getting used to life on her own without comfort, but by the time she was 19 , she had not only proven herself, but earned B-rank, by 20 she had achieved A rank, and was determined to become someone worthy of being a guild master in their own right , and start one of her own. On her second A rank mission, at age 23, something happened, something only she, one other and her former guild master know about, and it haunt her to this day.

And after her guild master permanently put her at B-Rank, she decided to leave and work toward starting her own, determined to be confined to a place that would stagger her growth.

Magic: Inkmancer

Creation :
Using her brush Maria can create hard ink constructs that, can move and follow verbal commands, but once disconnected from her brush can only last for up to 5 minutes, afterwords it becomes simple ink.

While still attached to her brush what she creates remains hard and tangable, but cant move or follow commands of any kind.

Ink blots :

Maria can use her ink to serve as a sticky tar like substance to blind, bind , or trip her enemies, or structures.

Consistency :

In addition to being able to change a substance from liquid to solid, she can change liquids to solid, and a semi solid which can either be slick and jelly like
Or viscus and like trying to swim through honey.

Painting :

As long as she has the reserves to do so, Maria can shoot ink from her brushes and if she spreads it on a surface, can control the ink to a point until her brush disconnects from the ink.

Eh, the only thing you got that might be confused as too similar is that first sentence of appearance. Besides, enforcing a One Steve Limit (or in this case, a One Tall Athletic Woman Limit) could get tiresome. I say we're all intelligent to savvy the diffs ^.^

Name: Mario Moneta
Age: 18

Appearance: Mario stands just about 5 foot 8 and has a rather slender build. He sports short black hair and green eyes. He always seems to have a plan or scheme to get his next "pay day" and rarely has time for those who prefer to wander off of the beaten path. Despite this, he is rarely seen in a bad mood, well unless he doesn't get paid of course. He also has been known to help those less fortunate with his wealth that he carries with him, his "worst quality as a thief" as he calls it. He's never been the one to turn down someone in desperate need.

Guild: None Currently
Guild rank: C

History: Growing up on the streets, Mario had to do what he could to survive. Which mostly involved stealing from unsuspecting people to feed himself. He found out early that he had a natural ability for magic involving Shadows which helped his attempts greatly over the years but he never really cared for the magic. To him, there always seemed to be something off whenever he had to use that magic. However, he found growing up that it wasn't the money that excited him, but the thrill of the steal that did. So he decided that he would become the "Greatest Thief in all of Fiore".

After a few years of stealing, at about 14, he realized that just shadow magic wasn't going to cut it after failing to steal from a mage in . He had to find an edge. It lead him to wondering if there was any magic related to the Jewels themselves. After all, it would be so much easier to steal from people if their money just jumped out and rolled right to him. He began searching high and low for any information on Jewel magic but continued to come up empty. Apparently the Magic Council had banned its use some time ago. Just when he was about to give up, another failed thievery attempt changed everything.

He, once again, tried to steal from a very powerful mage, only this time it was a member of Death's Head Cactus. Rather than killing Mario though, he offered to have him join the guild. He had no interest at the time, but they could get him what he truly wanted, the forbidden Jewel magic. After years of studying the magic within the guild, he grew tired of having to share any jobs reward with the rest of the guild and wanted out. As fate would have it, luck was on his side. The Magic Council sent another guild to raid one of their bases and he was captured. However, do his cooperation, he was given a strict parole rather than a lifetime prison sentence or worse. But because of his ties to the dark guild he must report to the Magic Council monthly to make sure his magic does not have a negative effect on the country.

Magic: Unlike most mages, Mario actually uses two types of Magic. Jewel Magic and Shadow Magic

Jewel Magic:

Blood Money – One of the more...odd magic spells Mario uses. Usually enchanted on his daggers, any time blood would be spilled from any enemy, instead single Jewel coins fall from the body. They stop falling once bleeding would normally stop and the coins actually disappear from existence once the wound they fell from is healed or the person they fell from dies. It is because of this magic that he constantly monitored by the Magic Council as to not flood the market with coins only to have them vanish shortly after.

Jewel Explosion – Mario's favorite spell, with a snap of his figures he explodes any nearby Jewels not in possession of someone. Each single currency of Jewel has about as much power as about an average Fire Cracker, a hundred Jewel bill or coin has as much firepower as an M80 and a 10,000 Jewel bill has as much firepower as a stick of dynamite.

Jewel Guard – Mario’s main defensive skill. A passive magic he is capable of using, Jewel Guard deflects some of the damage he would receive to instead be subtracted from the vast amount of wealth he carries around with him. If he has no money left, he takes all the damage from the resulting attacks.

Shadow Magic:

Shadow Form - Mario becomes one with the shadows around him and disappears into them. He can reappear out of any shadow within a ten foot radius of where he merged into a shadow, but cannot cause physical damage unless he becomes tangible again. However, if all Shadows where to disappear after this skill, he is forcibly removed from the shadows and becomes tangible again.

Shadow Double - Mario Transforms his shadow into an exact duplicate of himself (though still appearing like a shadow) that can hurt and attack enemies. The duplicate cannot move more than a few feet away from Mario at any time and any damage dealt to the shadow is also dealt to Mario himself. The duplicate also seems to have a personality all of its own and seems to move of its own will.

Name: Mavro "Sage" Litucolo

Age: 75

Appearance: Mavro is what you would expect from a man of such advanced age, being a tad bit withered and pale of skin while still standing roughly 6foot tall with a very fit physical condition despite the age he sits add. Some speculate that magic gives his body the appearance of a strong old man but others don't pay him any mind and instead focus on the eyes of this one. Age has done nothing to dull the fierce look of a warrior from his eyes, making it intimidating to look into his sharp crystal clear blue eyes.
Mavro has known combat in his many years of life no doubt, and still wears his prized daggers but his face has grown softer, though his hair has receeded atop his head and grown upon his face.
'Sage' Litucolo

Personality: Mavro has a quiet nature that comes with peace and long years, hard earned and widely accepted to be all most people know about him but others who have fought hard battles know the truth. Deep inside the core of this old man lay a tiger waiting to strike with all the skill and deadly power it can bring to bear at a moments notice.
Tread carefully in the Sages presence.

Despite the harsh past, his present self is one of calm and collected thought, of quiet wisdom and honest truths told to those worth being told them to. For through the Sage Litucolo one can often find a way to boost their own magic power or master it. Wisdom is the defining trait of the white bearded old man.

Guild: Dirge
Guild rank: Guild Master

History: Unknown - Recent years have shown the old sage quietly sitting in his home or guild house amassed with various books on magic and magic craft. Everything before the creation of his guild known as 'Dirge' remains a mystery to this day.

Magic: Unknown - Mavro Litucolo earned his name with his strange magical ability simply called 'unknown'. which appears to allow him to read other peoples magic and its properties and seeing all of the various strengths and weaknesses. Those who are 'known' by him describe it as a discordant song when they try to bring magic against him, like the very essence of their powers simply refuses to function. It is speculated that his Guild name was inspired by that idea.

(This will be one of few characters I will actively play. His role is a way for me to reward you all with upgrades to your magic. How exactly he does it will depend on a few factors I am not at liberty to explain.)

If we mention a guild our characters were a part of, but have since left, do we need to fill out that guild's cs? Or is that only for characters actively in a guild?

Only for guilds you are currently a part of. Its not mandatory, mind you. I just want to have a list of available guilds people have made and the characters belonging to them incase someone wants to join it later on.

Name: Kal Ellis

Age: 32

Appearance: Tall and lean, standing at a solid 6’2” with a very athletic build. Kal is albino, having paper white skin, white hair, and piercing red eyes. His hair is long, kept in a ponytail that reaches down to the middle of his back. The clothing Kal chooses to wear is usually very expensive and formal looking, giving him a slightly sophisticated and also arrogant overall appearance.

Personality: Selfish is a kind word to use, Kal is out for himself in every possible way. He dislikes working with other people, even if it is for a mutual gain. Kal isn’t the kind of person who would ever stick his neck out for someone else, but at the same time he isn’t actively trying to bring harm to others. Pragmatic and calculating, Kal tries to keep himself at least two steps ahead of everyone so that he is never put into unfavorable situations. For him there is no excuse to have to rely on another person’s help or ever have someone else rely on his own help. He does however have a soft spot for people who show genuine kindness towards others, especially when they do it without expecting anything in return. In a way this is how he recognizes the fact that he is a very selfish person, perhaps even subconsciously realizing that its one of his biggest faults.

History: Kal was raised by a wandering mage named Kam Moses, of which Kal has learned everything that he knows about magic. Kal never met his parents and was adopted as a child by Kam at infancy. Kam was a bit of a loner and like Kal he had never held a permanent spot with any guild before. From an early age Kam began to pass on everything that he knew about magic, inadvertently he also passed down several of his 'loner' tendencies as well. He had instilled into Kal the ability to work alone and to survive without having to rely on anyone else's help. Kam is still alive and an active mage and only seldom makes contact with Kal. This is actually something that both prefer, not because they dislike eachother's company, but because they simply prefer working alone more than anything else.

Magic: Delay Magic – A passive and touch based style of magic that is heavily dependent on how much focus and concentration the person wielding it has at any given moment. It is a style of magic that ‘delays’ forces as the controller sees fit, so long as the user has had direct contact with said force.

Offense: Delay magic is typically used as a defensive style, however it does have several applications towards attacking enemies as well. If a user strikes an area multiple times, yet chooses to have the force of his blows delay, this can result in the force of all of those strikes occurring at the same time for a massive amount of damage. Also with weapons like bows and slingshots, a delay magic user can apply forces to the string on a delay, resulting in a massive discharge of force once the delay has ended.

Defense: This is where delay magic users typically shine, as most tend to turn any fight into a battle of attrition with this ability. Whenever an outside force is imposed upon the body of a delay user, they can choose to either delay it completely for some time or slow the force over a prolonged period of time. The strength of the force and number of forces being delayed can take a toll on the user’s concentration, however delay users have been known to avoid otherwise fatal wounds by using their power. As an example, if a person wielding a sword were to strike a delay user, the sword would stop at the surface of the delay user’s skin. While all of the force has been applied to the delay user, it can be drawn out over a long period of time if the user was able to put enough focus into it. This would result in a bruise slowly developing over time due to the blunt force, however there would be no cut. It should be said that bladed weapons and piercing weapons are not very effective against delay users, blunt trauma is the only way delay users accumulate damage.

Name: Drake Fenner

Age: 19

Appearance: Drake stands at about 5'10. He has short dark hair that seems almost sharp at the tips. His eyes are typically brown, but give off a faint red glow when he uses magic. He, nor anyone else who has witnessed this, has been able to figure out why. His face is fairly handsome, if slightly boyish. His body is slim with long limbs, not quite lanky and clear muscle tone. He is Caucasian with a slight tan.

His attire usually consists of plain grey pants, a white button up shirt, and a grey jacket with a fur line hood. He wears plain brown shoes.

Personality: Proud and cocky are the two traits that immediately jump to mind when people think of Drake Fenner, but those characteristics do not define who he is. Drake is by no means a bad person, he just has the utmost confidence in his abilities as a mage. In short, he believes in himself and wants others to do the same, that is believe in themselves and him. His method of doing this is somewhat misguided, as his solution is "show them how great I am so that they aspire to be the same." Even when facing down a challenge that is beyond him he won't show any signs of fear or apprehension, taking it on with a defiant smirk.

Because of his attitude, some people find him abrasive or irritating but he values people and friends as much as the next person. If someone sticks around he will come to treasure that friendship above most other things, he just may not say it. His confidence in himself makes him a force to be reckoned with in the determination department. He constantly seeks to better and perfect his skills so that he can maintain his own image of being "the best". A small part of him knows that he has a ways to go before he can stand at the top, but he knows that if he acknowledges that part of him then he will lose himself. So he continues to train so that he can be fulfill that desire.

History: Drake was born to a fairly well-to-do family, and growing up he loved to play with fake weapons. His parents could hardly understand the boy's fascination, they were a peaceful family. Yet everyday the child would swing his toys around while laughing gleefully to himself. He had friends growing up, but his ever competitive attitude drove most of them away. This did not bother him too much, he just learned to value those who could look past his desire to be the best. He never thought less of those he trumped in competition, and only a select few managed to understand this.

The manifestation of his magic came suddenly and tragically. No one knew his motives, perhaps he needed blood to fuel his magic, perhaps he was simply mad. Regardless, Drake's home was infiltrated by an invader, and this man brutally took the lives of his parents. Drake was 8 years old when he stumbled into his parent's room to witness their deaths. In that moment something snapped. He needed something more than just a toy, his young mind knew this, something sharp, something real. He knew his little arms would not be able to swing a heavy blade with enough force, so it had to strike by some other means. He felt a surge through his body and his vision became reality. The rogue mage was suddenly skewered by multiple swords, spears, and knives. HIs body crashed against the wall and was still. Drake blacked out after that.

What followed was Drake's adoption by the Blademaster guild, who learned of the method by which the rogue mage was killed and, after some investigating, determined that it was the boy's doing. Having nowhere else to go, Drake decided that he would become the best, most powerful mage there was. A part of him blamed his own weakness for his parent's death. If he could become the strongest, perhaps he could somehow stop tragedies like his own from happening in the future. He quickly rose through the ranks, training not only his magic but his fighting skills. His skill lay in wielding weapons, not so much in martial arts. The time came when he decided that the guild could do nothing more for him, and he left for other pursuits.

Magic: Weapon Projection

Drake can utilize his magic to freely create bladed weapons seemingly out of thin air. The range for this ability is about 15 feet in a bubble around him. These swords, once projected, can be launched at any target that he can see with incredible force. If the target isn't pierced by the attack, the weapon will likely shatter from the sheer strength of the impact. The weapons he produces can also be wielded by Drake if he so chooses. There is technically no upward limit of weapons that can be produced at one time, but producing and firing excessively large amounts will quickly drain Drake of his strength until he can longer project until he rests. The weapons disappear either by his will or after a short amount of time. Of course if he is wielding a weapon he can keep it in existence as long as his reserves of strength hold up.

Weapon Proficiency
Drake has rigorously trained himself not to rely purely on his launched projections. He is also highly skilled in the use of the types of weapons he projects, primarily swords, spears, lances, and knives. He is a fierce foe both at range and in close quarters.
