Orange had got up and filed behind everyone else out of the exit. Some of the others grumbled about the cold, but Orange himself didn't mind it, it's not like he hadn't been trained to sit through such kind of weather before. Because of this he could not help but smile.
And with a hop and a skip Orange started off on his walk to his quarters. "Ahhh time for a nap...." while it would be normal for any other agents to have a job right about now, Orange had been issued a "cool down period", consisting of a single day( What a day was to command Orange had no idea, as he had been told to get to work sometimes well before the end of his break). Orange had just got back from the field, arriving in the wee hours of the morning. He had spent most of his time sleeping as he was apt to do so when he was given any brake time, Orange was a man who needed sleep, seems his own ability had a small tax on him. But it only mildly effected him. If he wasn't in the firing range, he could usually be found in his room asleep. Any long periods of free time Orange had would usually be spent sleeping, not only in anticipation for any actual recon stuff, but for wasting time as well. It still was, however, just a single day. Tomorrow he would be on the board, just like everyone else. Orange decided to push that thought away, he was here now, so enjoy the moment!
He glanced out of the windows as he walked, seeing the "new recruits" down near the heli-pad, in formation being barked at. "Doh ho ho ho." Orange laughed. As he walked into his quarters he switched on the small radiator that was sitting near his bed, it hummed to life. He then kicked off his boots and dropped onto his bed, un-buttoning his jacket in the process. He was about to drift off when a knock at the door interrupted his relaxation.
"What." Orange said obviously a little annoyed. The door didn't budge, nor did he hear anyone. "Always, with the protocol these enlisted men...." Orange said under his breath, "Enter!" he shouted the door then opened. As he thought an enlisted man peeked his head into the room his face met Oranges bored look. "Uhh, sir the Commander had a message for you.." "Yes and what was it?"
"Well the Commander suggested you help with the intro of the newcomers down near the Heli-pad seeing as how you don't have any...uhh jobs to do at the moment..."
"So it was an order...."
""Uhhh, yeah...sir" the enlisted man's head disappeared, off to do, what the enlisted usually do....
As much as the next guy, the Commander simply hated wasted talent, "this" was in fact how Orange's sleep-time had been interrupted before. For some funny reason if he didn't follow the commander's "suggestion" Orange would often find his name under latrine duty, usually for a few days (what was that old book Orange had read before....? Oh yes, Catch 22). And Orange was a highly hygienic man (strange for someone who spent most of his time in the same positions day-in-day-out) Orange got up off the bed, putting on his boots, buttoning up his jacket, and switching off the radiator, he caught himself in the mirror, and decided to put on his Officer's cap, which he hardly ever wore, with it (and a wink at himself) on he started out the door. He came out of the exit near the long hallway separating the base from the Officer's quarters. The familiar crunch of snow under his boots, he was quickly upon the strange group, who was currently being yelled at, and with his hands behind his back he stood with a smile upon his face, not a happy smile, but a smile of a shark, it was always fun to scare these "children" But truth be told helping them now, kind of reminded him of himself at their age, "Ahh it seems like it was only just yesterday...
