The bar was made of HDP. It was really more of a bar/grill places where they do a lot of food stuff too. But it was a fancy-ish bar since it was made of Hyper-dense Plastics, you know? That’s what’s important. One might suppose, as a fairly diverse crew pulled up chairs on a fairly large table. They seemed here intent on a single purpose, though their positioning told that most of them were little more then strangers. The Ethereals stood, or more accurately, floated nearby, but seemingly aloof from the going ons at the table. A waitress stood at the wings. A robot waitress simply designed to the specifications of a human female, though with no particular distinct characteristics except for her curves. It stood waiting for being called to order.

Since it would not record the conversation as it was, the newbie pirates could feel free to talk about whatever there was to. For the moment they were assessing the pot and waiting for the Shady Tradesmen. “Shady Tradesmen” was the intergalactic term for anyone willing to deal with pirates, representing innumerable fences, scammers, and various other less reputable professions then there own. It also explained why there were here, at some place seemingly respectable. The better the Tradesmen thought of you, the better the prices were, as tradesmen do base their prices on how much they like people. So keeping ideal relations is important for the best prices on selling and buying. Looking respectable was a good start. Even if what you do is not quite so much.

So for now, they were getting used to the idea of who was who more so then names and money. Who they were, what they had been up to, and stuffs. The captain had a seat at the head of the tables, connected together, with the first mate to his right. The rest were spread out just as they wanted. The bar had a diverse range of species, as this was the General trade alliance shipyards in Helios system. They had artificial sun light on this side right now, Day cycle, and the other side of the station was in night. The grav flippers were particularly active for the all the time party goers, but that is not really notable. The shipyards were mostly dormant right now. It was the Gathros cycle, so Helios shipyards were given a rest in favor of other systems production. Some privately owned docks were still manufacturing, but it was given a rest for a purpose. Buying could happen more easily because the freight transports were taking up important dock space, so there were a lot more affluent people around here right now. Rather then space truckers and workers.

Good place to buy a new ship. Perfect place to buy fuel. No so good for weapons, and bad for specialty, but you weren’t going to go far without lots of Elerium, one would suppose.

Only thing other notable was the curious, young Valeen who had just entered the bar. There was no real age limit in GTA on liquors, especially since no one drove on this space station. Simply not THAT big. But not terribly noticeable at the moment, but perhaps this person would be important later.

Ah, atmosphere. It was human owned and very retro-future human style. Pictures of hover cars with shark fins adorned the walls and the center stage had a statue of a very clunky looking power armor with a ray gun, rifle style. Nobody was up on stage right now, so 50s esque music was playing from the old style speakers around the room. The bar looked somewhat like a 50s diner, but very futuristic though too. Only the robots were not retro-future due to the owners specifications. This weird style seemed to attract the affluent and curious like flies to honey.

Ray slid his dog tag beneath his well-worn shirt. The seat felt uncomfortable, or maybe it was his gut giving him a bad feeling but something feels bad. Maybe it was that exotic wine he stole from the local shop. Even though the wine beckoned to him and the shop’s security was easily subverted, Ray now regretted the fact that the wine he stole was giving a bad stomach.

Twenty-nine years old. No job, no girlfriend, no friends that are alive, Ray realized that his life and skills are going to waste as he continued to live by himself. Well, there not much demand for a weapon’s specialist in the market these days.So here he is, becoming a pirate. 90,000 trade coins ready for spending, 40,000 he was ready to give for buying a ship. Hopefully it will help buy a good ship, with a reasonable bio-deck capable to growing veggies for his favorite soup. And if his new friends need any equipment, he be happy to lend them some.

He leaned back on his chair, and looked at his watch.

God…the silence is killing him…

{Otto Zap}

A short sectoid whose armor is dark blue and the outlines are red, is sitting in a chair next to a few not so strange strangers. Otto was this sectoid’s name and he was like a little kid with his short legs daggling, because of the height of the chair and his backpack was hanging on the back of his chair. Hidden within his armor, he formed a smile as he asked “So when does this show get on the road?”

“ No offensive, but I would like to get started on a few inventions and all we did so far is sit, eat, talk a little, and nothing. I like to get something business related accomplished today.” added Otto as he placed his hands on the table. Now Otto may of said he would like to get some inventions started, but what he really meant was that his stories was going to start soon.

The Soon-to-be Captain looked over at his Soon-to-be Head Scientist.

"Patience, my good sectoid. It's rather difficult to invent and experiment without space and equipment, yeh? So we'll wait for our 'Shady Tradesman,' see what he has to offer, and perhaps be on our way within the next 36 hours."

He turned his golden eyes back to the tabletop infront of him and pressed the menu call button underneath. Immediately a small holographic panel opened before him. He quickly scanned the appetizers and drinks, ten turned to the waitress-bot.

"A caesar salad and tall glass of water, non-reconstitued."

The robot bowed it's head slightly and replied "Yes sir, is that all, sir?"

The captain looked towards his crew and smiled, saying "Well, I'm buying. Go ahead and knock yourselves out, skies the limit. Just no alcohol, I want us all alert."

Jade sat quietly in her chair, her large green eyes scanning the group around her, waiting to be told what to do or praised for being a good girl and remembering her manners. Her black ears twitched occassionally as she looked rom face to face, clueless as to what was going on.

Nicholas, or rather "Phoenix," as this new crew knew him as, sat at a rather far end of the seating arrangements. He seemed to take care to try and remain as unnoticeable as possible, as well as rather distant with the crew. For what reasons, though, was only known to him. Despite being along for this ride, none of the group really knew him. After all, they didn't even know his real name, and only knew of his countless nicknames. It was generally accepted that Phoenix was his true first name, as odd as it was, and that he got the tattoo on his back because of that name. Of course, in reality, it was the other way around. The most they could possibly know about him was the numerous stories and rumors that regarded him. It seemed almost strange to think that he was the Captain Marshall, the man who had been rumored to be unable to keep a crew for longer than a week, but still always managed to get the last laugh. It was probably a good thing he was just one of their helmsmen. Then again, maybe not. Wasn't it always said that Captain "Crimson Eye" Marshall single-handedly proved that steering one's ship straight into a debris field really was nigh suicidal? Well... at least they had shifts... and that he'd hopefully feel obligated to actually follow orders.

Ahhhh, how exciting the city can be the first time! A young, dark-blue skinned girl walked into the bar with a big grin on her face and a sparkle in her yellow eyes. What fun this was going to be! It was obvious to anyone's eyes that this girl was of the Valeen race, and one still a little wet behind the ears at that, no pun intended.

I'm gonna party all night tonight! Mom and Dad'll have to drag me away kicking and screaming to get me on board and heading off before this night is over! the girl, Nehryssa, thought to herself, her webbed feet squishing clumsily against the floor. Nothing at all was going to stop this Valeen from having the time of her life, but she knew in the back of her mind, she'll have to say goodbye to this place sooner rather than later. True, she could try to miss her ride and stay here longer, but Nehryssa knew that it was only a matter of time before she'd seen everything and would grow bored of it. And then what would she do?

But right now, the pretty Valeen of the long, crimson hair didn't want to think of that and kept her mind in the present. Tonight was her night, and she was going to enjoy it.

The door to the bar slammed open. In came a Valeen walking as fast as she could without running. Her body was dyed in a way that made her look exotic or like a clown, depending on the eye of the beholder and she was huffing and puffing as if she had run a good stretch.

"Sorry I'm late!" Yaijk said as she pulled out a random chair by the table and sat down with bump.
"What'cha be talking about?" she continued and smiled wide and while looking from side to side at the others.

The sudden loud entrance of the talkitive Valeen wasn’t even enough to warrant a response from the silent JJ. In fact, there was probably a very good chance that non of the people in the room had even noticed the ghostly white figure that was sitting by himself at one of the tables. His black eyes didn’t even wander towards all of the others that were now in the room with him, and he simply continued to do as he’d done since he’d entered the bar.

JJ sat in silence, a steaming cup of coffee was placed casually in front of him onto the table. Every few moments the man would reach down and take a sip of the coffee, only to set it back down again with as little noise as possible. His dark eyes stared down into the steam that poured off of the surface of his drink, watching the gasses float and swirl as they rose into the air.

The man’s face was blank, only bearing the slightest sparkle within his eyes as he didn’t even attempt to do anything else. Everyone who had entered the bar earlier, could have easily said that the man was very patient, considering the fact that there was no telling how long he could have been sitting there for, doing the same thing as when he’d first came in.

((Karo, I guess you are sitting next to me right?))

The young woman sitting at the right hand of the Captain was attentive, looking at the ones that would become her crewmember in a matter of time. Such a lot of different faces...and some of themm looked quite experienced ones. That was good. Her right hand went over the cat-girl's head, as she played with her ears. "Good girl, you. Keep yourself like this and I'll see how pay you back." The girl -when people lived so long, and when you looke dlike her, you couldn't have been considered another thing that a girl- was truly beautiful, her orange eyes covered at the half by a white hair, being only this part of her hair pure white; the hair mole made gave her coal black hair a seductive look.

"Anyway, Caps, this Shady Tradesman needs to buy a watch if he wants to find a crew somewhere between now and the enxt ten years", said, sounding actually happy. There was no need to get all angsty at the moment, and she supposed it was all part of the deal. Ælexya just yanwed, not being really tired, looked over the others. Apart from Jade, and the Captian, the others were too far to see her eyes clearly, and it even may look like they were completely covered to some of them.

So many faces...

Jim Jonas sat near Otto, he grunted, and shifted to a more comfortable position. "That trader better come soon." He said. When the door slammed, he glanced and saw the Valeen who had came in. He turned his attention to the waitress-bot and decided to buy a drink himself. He turned towards the waitress, and said: "I'll have a glass Apple Juice, nothing else."

"Yes, sir." Replied the robot.

He rubbed his neck and looked at Captain Loyola and said: "Are you sure that he'll be coming here?"

Cortez had opted to stand, more for dramatic effect than anything else, hands in pockets and back arced slightly forwards causing the two loose ends of his head wrap to dangle forwards past his shoulders. His featureless face turned, the silver earrings decorating his large, almost pointed ears rattling together quietly. For a moment he regarded the newcomer, scanning her up and down before twisting his head to its original spot, causing yet another array of dingles from his earrings. He was positioned on the bottom right of the captain's table, looming over the slight, frail form of a girl sitting in the seat in front of him, though his verdant eyes were firmly fixed on the Captain.

"Something interest you?" the girl whispered faintly, not moving her eyes from the cluttered page in front of her.

"Jus' wonderin' if he's goin'ta' be one of them types who'd rather jus' 'ave us steal n' not hurt anyone," Cortez answered in a similarly quiet tone. "Jus' so many wannabe 'pirates' 'fraid of spillin' blood these days, 'ts'so annoying."

A small smile flickered at the corner of Estela's mouth at Cortez' comment as she lifted her hand to her face, licking her index finger before delicately turning the page of her black book. Her head lifted slightly from the numerous pages of her tome, those blood red eyes of hers regarding the Captain sleepily for a moment before returning to the page in front of her. "We are pirates now," she whispered after a while, "there will be conflict soon enough."

Cortez lowered his head to give the back of Estela's head a stern look before continuing his visual interrogation of the Captain. "Tch. Guess it can't be helped," he muttered, his voice not at all muffled by the layers of bandage. Finally Cortez closed his eyes, not responding to the Captain's offer of hospitality, instead allowing his twisted mind to mull over past events whilst he awaited the 'Shady Tradesman'. Estela just continued to read her book, her legs crossed with her right leg resting on her left knee. The sable black cover of the book seemed a blight upon the almost glimmering white of her dress, a stark contrast, though not so much as the huge, bandaged-headed man standing behind her.

Jaijk had been sitting on her elbows, leaned in far over the table, listening to Cortez and Estela's conversation.

"Damn right!" she half-shouted as she jumped up from her seat and placed her fist on the table. "We're pirates now! Come what may, we will defeated it!"
There was a huge grin on her face.

"A' sure didn't buy this gun to not use it!" she continued while grabbing her sonic pistol and swinging it around her finger once before putting it back in the holster by her thigh.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm pumped to get going. What the hell are we waiting for anyway?" she said and sat down again. It was pretty clear she was pretty excited as she seemed to have trouble even sitting still.

With a sigh Estela closed her book gently before turning herself in her seat to face Jaijk, a very unamused expression painted across her face (though her sleepy appearance ruins the effect). "Don't be so loud about it!" she 'shouts', though even this sounds barely at normal volume. She scowls at Jaijk for a time before sighing again. "I guess people express their excitement in different ways. But please, try not to swing your weapon around so wildly in public," she says as she reopens her book again with a finger and resumes her reading. "You never know who might take it as a challenge," she adds after a while, making a slight incline with her head in Cortez' direction.

Cortez' hand had moved itself in a firm grip around the handle of his deactivated plasma great sword at the Valeen's wild outburst. His grip loosened however at Estela's words before he cracks his neck from side to side and closes his eyes once more. At least she'll attract fire away from me, he thought as he mulled over the Valeen's hyperactive attitude.

Jade smiled when she praised, and purred when her mistress began playing with her ears. She managed to keep quiet otherwise, since she was told to not interrupt while they were dealing with the man they were waiting for. She was a little disappointed that none of the other crewmenbers seemed to notice her though, she loved praise and attention.

Scott sat at the far end of the table, watching through his goggles over his soon-to-be shipmates. He listened to everything that was said. Hm, that Shady Tradesman is a little late. I hope he hurries up so I can find out what ship we will be traveling on. As the waitress made its way to him, he said, "I'll have coffee." I still wonder if joining with these crackpots was a good idea.

A cloaked figure simply "stood" off to the side, floating with the robe covering him completely. Gram did not do much, floating there. In fact, he did not move at all, at anything. His cloak has not even stirred, in his floating. He seemed to be standing on invisible legs, rather than floating.

One could collect he didn't seem to speak much. At least, he didn't seem to dabble in casual talk. For the time being, it seems as if he'll be silent for a while. The ethereal did not take up the Captain's offer. Maybe he was thinking on other things. The truth was though, was he was peering around quite thoroughly with his Mind's eye, looking out for specific persons who may be worth noting. He would not stir unless something important came up.

Out of no particular area a human and a Valeen swooped out of no where in business suits. The Valeen has a plaster white face with a dour brown color for hair. Obviously meant to say "I'm not one of those fun loving freaks" more then anything else. The human was black, bald, but not particularly large, but the suit definitely made him imposing. They carried black suitcases. Slam they went on the table and then flipped open. Then span towards ends of the table, revealing two different designs of ships each. "He offers the Valeen and Casroon designed ships," The black man said, titling his head towards the Valeen.

"He the Human and Sectoid. I'm glad we could meet at such a respectable establishment, with such a good cover too. We have adjusted prices already to reflect this, so do not fret," The valeen told them, his voice seemingly fairly female to all but the Valeen's ear, which would recongize him as probably being the most male voice from a Valeen ever heard. The Black man's datacase(Laptop esque thing that's made for displays, presentations, easy access) showed a human designed ship. 1,800,000 Buying. Monthly Running was around 30,000, with average fuel consumption. Mixed ship that featured Aquatic apartments for Valeen, and self-controlled brigs for holding people for ransoms, comfortably. Special features was redundant features that increased maintance but made them far harder to disable, as well as sturdier hull, though it'd take a tad bit more metal to replace. Interior wise, there was not much special, just that there was parts of the wall that could be extended out to provide defenders with cover.

The other ship was Valeen. 2,000,000 to buy. Average Running was around 30,000. It was opulantly quartered and even had a strange "Breathing Tank" Where an aquatic environment that even air breathers could be fine in. Used mostly for unique sexiness. It tended to be a tad more inclined for things that would imrpove morale. It would just be expensive. Except one thing, that the ION drives would be more efficient and less heavy gases would be required for fuel, thus balancing out some costs.

Tap, tap. Both Tradesmen tapped buttons that changed the ship displayed.

Sectoid: 2,000,000 to buy. 15,000 to maintain on average. Damn efficient, but very barebones when it comes to services. ONly the medical bay is up to other ships par, but the rest seems a tad... skimpy. Obviously made by sectoids. It is easy to maintain and repair though, so may be worth your while. Just buy the upgrades seperate and it'll pay for itself. Eventually. The efficiency also meant it had extra cargo space due to not needing some space for something else. I believe it was part of the Aquatic apartments...

Casroon: 1,900,000 to buy. 22,000 to maintain. Military efficiency here. More weapons then the other ships, and thier cannons are positioned to maximize amount. It also makes them a tad cheaper to maintain by better building thier power systems and such. It also allows the captain, with the press of a button, to turn of gravity around the ship. Can be a major hazard if a Casroon gets it, but if your people have Mag boots, you can leave the enemy absolutely exposed.

"We need to get this out of the way, so please chose," The bald human asked, adjusting his suit just a tad as he looked at them.

Jade visibly flinched when the two slammed their briefcases down on the table. Her smile vanished and her eyes immediately dropped to the table in front of her, andshe rubbed at her ears. They were very sensitive to loud noises, and that was close enough to make her ears ring. She let out a small whimper, and two tears formed in the corner of her eyes.

{Otto Zap}

Otto shook his head in annoyance as he replied to the soon to be captain “You know my name, and I know yours, so let’s use them, please. It’s quite annoying, Andrew, especially since my name is on my chest with the number of clones I am.” Reaching for his glass, Otto takes a sip as the valeen with a white mask and the bald human both wearing black suits approached their table. They were obviously the shady traders by they introduced themselves as well as how they showed off their goods using a laptop as Otto replied “Glad you could make it.”

After looking over the ships, Otto rubbed his chin and made his usual grumble noise as he thought about each ship and answered “ I like the Casroon Ship, due to money wise and as well as weapon wise. What about you, Andrew?

Scott picked up his cup of coffee, and took a sip while looking at the ship designs on the two's datacases.
"Well, the human ship is good defensively; the Valeen ship is an expensive and nice, morale boosting ship with good ION drive; the Sectoid ship is cheap, efficent, and has a little extra cargo space; and the Casroon ship is good in fights." He had half meant for that to stay in his head, though he accidentally said it loud enough for everyone at the tables to hear. "If anyone cares, I vote for the Casroon ship, with the human one as a back-up choice." He said, followed with another sip of his coffee.

Slowley and silently the small egg shaped pod drifted through space, the one view window steamed over. Reflecting the pinging strobe light mounted on the nose of the craft. Inside there was a faint red light reflecting up off the 2 feet of water which was still as ice. From the water peaked the well excercised stomach of a boy who seemed to be somwhere in his teenage years, his skin seeming to be of a red hue due to the light.

He was leaning back against the wall panting heavily with his mouth open and his eyes closed, his hands submerged beneath the water didn't seem to be moving as his tossed his head to the left side letting out a low groan. He was either starting to persperate or he had just sat up from the water, it was hard to tell with the lighting but from the steam on the window, one could guess it was sweat.

Phoenix shifted in his seat a little, in order to get a better glance at the ships being displayed. However, he took note in making sure he remained imperceptible. He had dealt with many Shady Tradesmen before, and he didn't know if had met these two in the past. His memory was excellent and all, but he tended to discard those he never expected to see again from his mind rather quickly. It was only now, down the road, did he realize that there was ever the small chance that he could run into an identical one again. Therefore, he wanted to be careful and make sure they didn't recognize him if they had encountered each other before. He didn't feel like paying back any of the money he still owed to some of those men.

Phoenix tapped his chin lightly as he pondered at the offered choices of the ship. Currently, it seemed people were in favor of the Casroon ship. Indeed, it certainly wasn't a bad choice, and he himself enjoyed a ship armed with good weapons. However, the human and Valeen ones appealed to him as well. Human, because he always liked being able to defend himself, and the Valeen, because he saw the luxury in a little more comfort on the trip. He tapped his chin again, but chose to not yet voiced his opinions. Personally, he was starting to lean towards the human ship, but he wanted to hear what the others had to say first.

Jaijk was rubbing her chin and her eyes narrowed, as she inspected the different ships.

"Well, I guess it depends on our budget." she said after having thought a while. "I definitely think we should go for the Valeen one if we can afford it. After all, we're going to spend much time on that ship, might as well make it comfortable."

She scratched her chin again. The Valeen ships she had seen were not very suited for air-breathers, and she did not completely under this breathing tank thing.

"Could you tell in detail how that breathing tank thing works? Will our fellow land dwellers be able to move freely on it?" she said with a smile towards the Valeen.

The valeen gave a small nod. "It is a complex procedure that myself is not qualified to explain, lest to say that the liquid in it evaporates inside the nose of a subject into oxygen and then gives the person something to breath. It is a good place to try new experiences, supposedly. Remember, too these are mixed race cruisers just designed by the four races. Most of them have dry hallways, even the Valeen," he told an easy going tone, as easy going as a dead serious person could be.
