One entry per person. Did you read the rules? >.<
Also, again a personal opinion, still doesn't seem Halloween based or moody. Something I may discuss with the others, if this is your entry.

Mine took five minutes. You don't need a story. It could be a poem or something, as long as it's original, and follows the rules of the contest.

Yes, it is to have fun, but it's also to spread the fun with the readers.

Extend it by a couple of days, I'm sure no one will mind, really.

If the alternative is "nothing" then I say do it.

Entries will still be taken here until Monday night.

Enjoy the next 40-50 hours.

You know, the last time I extended a contest by a few days, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal, people got really pissed off at me.

What is there to get mad at anyway?

Regardless, it seems to have sorted itself out. People who don't have the time to make a story simply won't have one to submit I guess. Let's rev up those last minute entries!

It can just be creepy/spooky
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

I don't think it was the fact that it was extended that bothered them as much as the fact that the winner showed up shortly after the initial deadline and they think if you had have said "12 O'CLOCK MEANS 12 O'CLOCK! NO EXCEPTIONS!" they would have still be in with a chance of winning.

I did wright an entry for the contest even though I was not going to but I still need to go through and make those changes you suggested and with the peer assessment tomorrow, I have really not had time. No skin off of my back, though I am looking forward to reading all the entries when I get the chance.
Some people shouldn't have an imagination. They just abuse it.
